I’ve been here once a few years ago, and remember the service was a turn off but decided to try again today to try and sell some textbooks back.
The lady at the front desk just took my books and scanned them. I couldn’t see her computer to see what was coming up but I asked her if my textbooks were still being used with the college. She replied no and said they weren’t even being listed in the summer catalog. Right away, I grabbed my phone to confirm and sure enough in the summer 2015 schedule of classes my book, edition, and author popped up for the class.
Then she blankly stated she could give me $ 5 for it.
It’s a good condition, hardbound textbook selling for $ 200+ at the Rio Hondo bookstore, and she offered $ 5 for a book supposedly not in use by the college.

Good prices. They know which book which professor is using so they can sometimes help you out by saving money. Been coming here for a few years. The customer service is slightly intimidating but friendly enough and very knowledgeable. They deal with goofballs and half idiots from rio Hondo (me included) so I see how customer service can be bad at some times. Overall Very recommended if you need a book for rio Hondo

This place was great. I needed to buy a book for my English class; «Man’s Search for Meaning.» I checked my on campus bookstore and it was $ 8, so I called this off campus location and it was $ 6. It was 4:30pm when I called and their closing time is 5:00pm, i told them if they could wait til I arrive and they said okay.
I showed up bought the book and left. Overall great experience.

The service is horrible! The main owner lady was grumpy and rude. Cheaper prices at a cost of some ladies BS!

I like supporting mom and pop stores. But my experience here was terrible. Called and put a book on hold and two hours later it was sold because they accidentally put it on the shelves. They sort of apologized, but the level of incompetence is too much for me. Won’t be returning here.

A cheaper alternative bookstore that saves you money.
