I’ve grown up in this area, and have always loved this place. It has a very old timey feel to it that you never get anymore with the more well known theaters in the area. It has unique seating, and everyone is very polite.

We love this little local place. If they are playing something we want to see we will definitely choose Hoosier over a larger theater. We were disappointed the American Sniper was only showing for a brief time and we missed it. We are locals so we love to walk into the downtown. Have dinner and then see a show. It’s only $ 7 and snacks are also reasonable. It’s a bit cold in the winter but it’s a big place, old and I’m sure hard to heat. Shop local and help our community.

Loved it!!! Very old time feel & look theatre. They only show 1 movie & it’s $ 6 per person. My husband & I saw Mission Impossible 4 there. We got tickets, a drink, popcorn and candy for $ 21! There were only about 30 people there & it can seat much more. As long as there is a movie playing we want to see, we will choose this over the bigchain theatres anyday! I highly recommend for those of you who are a bit nostalgic.

Great PLace — One of the only authentic REAL movie palaces around. It has been restored to it’s original beauty Great place to go if you don’t like the chains. And a lower price! Enjoy the downtown before or after the movie too!

The Hoosier Theatre is a very old theatre. It was just recently restored in the late 90’s I believe. There’s a piano player sometimes. I prefer to pay the extra money to go to Showplace 12 or 16 in Schereville, but I know my parents prefer the Hoosier and they love it. It is very affordable, only five dollars per movie. I do love the inside, because places like this just aren’t built today. The washroom really creeps me out though, but hey thats just me, I’m not fond of old fashioned restrooms. The sound isn’t so great here, I’m spoiled with our modern surround sound. It’s really neat just for historical value alone. The place is usually pretty packed because it’s affordable and vintage.
