I came here on a recent afternoon with my mother and young daughter for an impromptu lunch around noon. I was pleasantly surprised that the interior is quite a bit nicer than a typical pizzeria. As it was a bit early, there was only one other group in there, and we chose the only table without a tablecloth, to prevent my daughter from trying any table tricks. The hostess was incredibly attentive, interacting with my daughter, and even offering her a to go water cup, making sure that it was the right temperature for her(not warm, and not too much ice). We ordered a regular cheese pizza, and went for the house made potato chips as a starter snack. The chips were terrific. About the same price as buying a bag at the store, but so fresh, with just enough salt for seasoning. The pizza was definitely above average for the new york metro area, and I considered it rather good, enough that I would without hesitation order it again. The hostess let us have the pizza on a neighboring table, again so it could be comfortably out of reach from my little one. She also offered to have my daughter’s slice sent to the kitchen to cut up small for her. We declined, but I truly appreciated the attention to all of the details. I was very happy with our dining in experience and look forward to a return trip when we are looking for an easy dining occasion.

This place is the ABSOLUTEWORST !!! Called this past Saturday evening and put in my order. After an hour & a half the delivery NEVER came, so i called only to be put on hold for at least 5 minutes. So I hang up and call AGAIN and THENAGAIN… After the fourth phone call I finally got this guy who said he was the owner and I asked what happened to my order. He claims the the order was going out now. Well about 10 minutes I get a phone call from a girl that works there telling me that they made a MISTAKE with my order and DONOTHAVEPANINI“S therefore, my order was never even made this is after about two hours!!! I told the girl cancell my order and I’ll NEVEREVER call there AGAIN !!! However, I told her that my CC better not be charged!!! However, today I check my bank statement and what do you know they charged my card for 32.50 !!! 32.50 for NOFOOD&AGGRAVATION !!! This place is VERY Missed Managed !!! HORRIBLEEXPERIENCE !!! P. S. I gave it one star because it would not post otherwise… It don’t deserve NOTHING !!!

Buffalo pizza is a home run. Whitestone doesn’t lack pizzerias but the new ownership here makes this stand out from the rest. Pretty extensive menu but it would be hard for me to order something else considering how much I love the buffalo pizza

Under new managment, so gave it another try. Only 2 tables and service was poor. For pasta dishes, not offered cheese or fresh black pepper… come on, get with the program. Waitress hanging around the kitchen doesn’t help improve the experience for the diner. No followup for refill of beverages? Plate was warm but Pasta came out room temperature at best… no way was it hot. Why bother complaining if they left such a bad impression that I won’t be back and they WILL fail unless they make big changes in service and quality. Never get a second chance to make a first impression. Maybe they can learn from this review before they loose their investment. So many options out there

We’ve ordered from here a countless amount of times and I always get their salmon with either the sautéed spinach or steamed broccoli. The salmon itself is pretty good, definitely not the best in New York but it’s decent. The problem is they drown it in dressing. There is a pool at the bottom of the dish and it actually makes the salmon fall apart. I now order it without any dressing and it actually tastes much better. Especially since their takeout plates are tin foil wrapped in plastic. So when we receive the dish it’s dripping and the bag is soaked. Their mashed potatoes are very bland and mushy. The spinach is fairly good, but they give you too much.(And it’s a side dish). I really do feel they should focus on the quality and presentation of their food and not try to make up for the high prices by serving you massive portions.

I am no stranger to This place and I have had some above average meals here, mostly take out. However I Did a family birthday dinner here and it was disaster ! The entrees were brought out a half hour apart. People in our party were waiting for the other entrees before they began eating and boy did they have to wait. The waitress claimed the chef forgot. The chef forgot three entrees? How does he forget 3 entrees of pasta? and then when the entrees came out the lasagna was cold in the center. Half the party left mid dinner because they were so disgusted. We as hosts were mortified. They are also more costly than any other Pizzaria restaurant in the area! 7 $ more for the same entrée minimum. In the end they took some charges off on the bill. Sadly i will not return here sour taste in my mouth. I will bring My business always to Alfredo’s a few blocks instead.

honestly food is ok… why I’m giving it 2 stars is because the lack of common sense. when you order food for delivery shouldn’t you put in the bag utensils? maybe fork spoon knife napkins? especially when you tell them over the phone please don’t forget to put utensils and they send the food without proper placements. it shows that the preparation is terrible because of the simple things for people to eat… what if this was going to a construction site without utensils how would the customer eat…

I have ordered from Nonna’s about 30 times plus. While I do believe that the entrees are overpriced, the pizza pies are reasonable(and good). I usually get a large plain pie or my personal fave– lasagna pizza which is delicious. The delivery is fast and the folks are pretty friendly. The space is small but at least it is clean. I’m a fan and so is my son.

The pizza was not extraordinary. It was not bad but wasn’t spectacular. I really enjoyed the pasta fagoli soup. It was a real treat and was really really filling. I’m going to try the other non pizza dishes. It looks like they have a lot of good stuff.

I am surprised at the reviews I have read. I am very picky about food and pizza especially. No there isn’t a brick oven but the brick oven style pizza is awesome! They use portobello mushrooms not canned. It might be pricier bc they use better ingredients. I really liked the first owner but not much has changed with new one. Went there for meals and order every Sunday. delicious fried calamari and mushroom pizza! Their salads and entrees we have had were always tasty and good portions.

Yiiiiiiikes. First off: delivery was quick and wonderful. The delivery dude was nice and I liked having my food quicker than I expected. Now on to the bad: Nonna’s is DEFINITELY, without a doubt, unacceptably OVERPRICED. I figured, Italian place, nice architecture, looks nice, I’m gonna eat like a principessa. Incorrect! I got what looked like an $ 11 entrée but paid $ 22 for it. The cooking? Mamma mia! Everything tasted like lemon! I love lemon! But EVERYTHINGTASTEDLIKELEMON. My pasta? Tasted like lemon. My Chicken Parm that was doused in cheese and sauce? Tasted like lemon. My brother’s lasagna? Tasted like lemon. The pasta sauce? Tasted like lemon. The buffalo wings? HOWCANYOUMESSUPBUFFALOWINGS?! I wish they tasted like lemon because, man, were those bland and tasteless. In summary: VERY overpriced bland food that is covered up by solely the taste of lemon. Nonna? It’s time to take you to a nursing home.

Did this place recently change owners? Used to be pretty good, but just ate there and my usual dish(chicken parm) was disgusting. Literally not edible, and that’s really saying something for chicken that’s fried and smothered in cheese. Also important to note that this place is dirty. Tons of black gnats flying around.

Sorry Nonna… I ordered hotel delivery to the Spring Hills Suites. Small pizza and salad with tip, it was $ 30. Service was fast, but the driver smelled like reefer and seemed quite stoned. Pizza was blah — salad was okay. It was convenient.

We did not even get to try the food before we left. They just decided to not take any Groupon anymore and did not offer an explanation. Before we left we took a glance at their menu and noticed how overpriced everything was. Entrée prices are in the high $ 20s. For a small pizzeria there is no way they could charge high-end restaurant prices. Pizza was not part of their dine-in menu. They have a menu for pizza with much lower prices than the dine-in menu but decided to not show it to the customers unless you specifically ask for it. This and the Groupon issue just goes to show how greedy the management of this place is. This place is not your regular open-fire brick-oven/artisanal pizza place. In fact you won’t even see an open-fire or a brick-oven. It’s more like your crappy pizza take-out place that pretends to be of a higher-end and charges ridiculous prices. The bad reviews of this place are justified and you should avoid this place at all costs.

Giving this place two stars is generous. The stuffed mushrooms and noonas brick oven pizzanweren’t edible. The garlic bread was o.k. Go by the bad reviews and don’t waste your time.

To start The pizza is really good! My wife and I were in the mood for some pizza and we have been trying for years to find a really good slice in the area. We decided to try this place after our first stop was closed. We have heard mixed reviews, but figured to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised. The front door was open, but they weren’t truly open yet, but the owner welcomed us in and allowed us to order some pizza 20 minutes before they were due to open. He had the chef throw a pie in for us so that we can eat sooner rather than later. He himself took down some chairs for us to sit turned on the televisions and music. He brought us our drinks and when the waitress arrived she was very sweet and attentive. The pizza is really good!(Had to repeat) My mother met us there and sat with us. The waitress brought over two long stemmed roses for my wife and mother to celebrate mothers day. This was was the first of what will probably be many trips here, but I will say. It was over $ 13.50 for 4 slices and a soda which I consider expensive, but the experience will make up for it. And if the and service will be consistently this good its okay with me.

Eh, barely 2 stars. Service was friendly, but our waiter was odd to say the least. I ordered a pasta dish which didn’t come with a salad and the waiter looked directly at me and asked if I wanted a salad and I said I didn’t think I got one. He said I was right, but he could give me a salad anyway. Figured he was being nice and then he never brought it. Then I asked for their house Cab and he said he has something much better and I would love it. I’m still not even sure what he gave me, but he was acting like it was the blood from God. It was ok, but he kept asking if I liked it with a smile like he was hooking me up. My pasta came out which was the cavatelli alla Nonna. It had cherry tomatoes, panchetta, diced eggplant and shaved ricotta salata on top. It was bland and the panchetta wasn’t good. Didn’t taste like panchetta. They must use some imitation and the same can be said for the ricotta salata which was reminiscent of sawdust. My Dad and his wife liked it better than me. Hence the 2 stars. It’s a few blocks from my uncles house, but I can’t imagine revisiting. Unless you live within a mile of it I would not recommend going here other than strictly out of convenience.
