The service here is terrible! Let’s start by saying this place says it closes 10, I went 920 and they said they didn’t want to seat us, they ended up serving us anyways cause my girlfriend and I were persistent to be seated. The food was good-very good, but the service was horrible to say the least. For someone who didn’t want to seat us cause of the time, they sure did not seem so eager to leave. I would say entrees came out in 45 minutes and we ordered very simple dishes, and it also took them about 20 – 25 minutes to just get are dessert out, when it came out it was missing the Icecream, when we let are waitress know she still took so long that we actually ended up just getting up and paying with out getting the check upfront. They lady when my girlfriend requested her to take off the Icecream she seemed annoyed. I will never come back here again. Place needs new management. I actually live on the same block down the block and could of been a really good customer, considering I dine out few times a week and prob would be a great spot to go.

Spare yourself! Had pasta with seafood, not one mussel on the plate was good, Im not sure how the plate even left the kitchen. I ate one clam and was afraid to eat the rest. My husbands meal was just as bad. Server was annoying and the chef had the gall to ask how the food was. Just by the look of it he shouldn’t have served it. There were only two tables at 730 on a Friday, I’m definitely not surprised. I do not recommend this place, Save your money and time. Hopefully they will rectify their issues so the restaurant will have some success. Only positive is the water view and the serving size of the wine.

We had my sisters bridal shower here. The host CARMELA was very rude to my family and the bride herself !! We got there and had to re-set the tables. The food was very good but I would not ever book a party here again. The woman was so nice to us when we were booking the party but when we had the party she was rude and had a horrible attitude ! Do not ever ever book a party here. I would go here for dinner only since the food is decent and they have a great view !!

Due ponti is my new favorite restaurant. The food is delicious, there is a parking lot in front and the staff is beautiful. They are always accommodating even if you want to sit out on the dock on a windy night and then change your mind and ask to sit inside after appetizers! Haha(sorry). My husband and I have so far had the veal saltimbocca(omg), muscle chowder, pork shoulder ravioli with apple purée, skirt steak and filet mignon. I still dream of the muscle chowder. Due ponti is the perfect place to surprise a loved one with a special dinner. I can’t say enough about this place… so quitting while I’m ahead! 5 stars!

Good Italian food in a casual setting. Pros: Nice views, low key, family friendly, engaging owners Con: Mosquitoes will swarm you during dusk if you are dining by the pier, eat quickly or move indoor.

We decided to re-explore Old Whitestone, and found Due Ponti, which my wife remembers as the location of the old Beechhurst Yacht Club. It’s a bit tucked away, since it rests right on the water and settled next to the Tropicana distribution plant, but don’t let that put you off — once you’re settled at a table on the dock, you’ll forget that you’re anywhere in Queens. The name is apt; the restaurant is between the Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges, which is a lovely water spot with lazy boat traffic and a great view. We hit it up in the summer, so the restaurant was open down across the dock, which meant we could sit with the water lapping below us. The menu is comfortably familiar Italian, with a few fun selections thrown in, and the wine list was not bad. The portions were very generous; we did comfortably with an appetizer and a salad to make a full meal. While the service was a little slow, we weren’t in a rush and the water and view made the evening very pleasant. We will definitely add Due Ponti to our list of «returning with friends» list.

The views are wonderful if you sit outside which is the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars. The food is meh. We sat outside(this happened like 2 years ago and have not been back since) we were the only ones there we were a table of 4, 2 adults and 2 toddlers. The took forever for drinks and food which i don’t understand since we were the only customers in the place. And on top of that the glasses that they first put down had very visible lipstick marks on them. Not just one glass but 2 and the waitress was just about to pour the water until I pointed that out to her. Then when we ordered coffee at the end, my cousin asked me if I thought her coffee tasted funny, of course it did because the creamer placed on the table was sour! Cleanliness is priority in a restaurant to me which is why my experience completely turned me off from this place even though I’m walking distance from it.

Top recommendation for this restaurant! The food prepared by Carlos the Chef is incredible! I have eaten there four times in the last few months and just love it! The view is exceptional and the waiters and waitresses are great! Carlos is a one in a million chef! There is nothing that he cannot make. Everything is so delicious, it is so hard to decide what to order. Anyone I have taken there has returned. Love it here!!!

Nice wait staff. Tremendous view. Worst food I’ve ever had. Don’t order the baked ziti — it has more meat than a Midwest slaughter house and ricotta seems to be a taboo ingredient as it was absent. If you can’t get a staple menu item right, I’m scared to think about more complex meals. Total slop. Insulting.

Exceptional customer service, food presentation and taste, strong desire to please and ensure a successful event. Held my son’s graduation party at the restaurant. Everything was flawless from beginning to the end of the party. I spent 25 years coordinating customer dinner events at 5 star restaurants in Manhattan and San Francisco. Due Pointe ranks at the top of list!!!

Had a great lunch at the hidden«gem» today although the restaurant was actually closed. I called and the chef, Carlos was his name, said, «We rare closed but come in and I will make you whatever you want.» I was sold. My guest and I drove over and it was him and a couple of kitchen people in the restaurant. He proceeded to seat us on the outside deck with the most spectacular views of the water and both the Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges. Just breath taking! We had an authentic Caesar Salad and it was really good. We followed with a pasta dish that he has been wring on for the new menu. It was linguini with shrimp and shredded zucchini in a light white wine. It was delicious! Carlos wore all he hats and we felt like we were royalty! It was really a great experience. I know they have had issues previously from what I’ve read but the chef is new and they are restructuring so for those of you who haven’t been here it’s worth a try and for those of you who have had an unpleasant experience you may want to give it another shot. If for nothing else it’s worth coming for a drink and apps just to catch a sunset on the deck… and that you really can’t beat. The view is simply amazing!

I gotta give it to this spot. The views are amazing. Take your mami here if you wanna get it in. But if you’re looking to get them loaded before, this is not the place. They actually only had 3 beers that night. Not 3 beers on tap, but 3 actual bottles of beer. The food came out cold, but it «looked» appetizing. There is tons of parking and fried apps were decent. Fix the food mang…

All around ambience was fabulous/the service was impeccable — personable-attentive and knowledgable in regards to the menu. They serve a roasted veggie tray with fresh bread and butter. the veggies are delicious, fresh and a nice addition to the usual fresh bread and olive oil or butter. The portions where generous in size. The sangria was fabulous as the crème boule Dessert. It is a pricey menu but considering the live music and the outdoor setting — it certainly adds to the charm… it seems from some of the reviews there is room for improvement– My experience was great– Hopefully any adjustments can be made and now you get 5 Stars– I give 4 stars to challenge the nay sayers to try again, find your favorite dish and enjoy the ambience– you won’t find it anywhere else nearby

As the view and the weather were spectacular, we ate our dinner outside. The food was average and the service was slow, but we really didn’t have an issue with either. What we did think was bad business was when we presented a coupon from Unilocal, which stated that upon the purchase of two entrees we would receive a free appetizer. We were informed by the waiter that the owner no longer honors Unilocal coupons and is actually removing his restaurant from the site. Obviously, this was a prior arrangement between the owner and Unilocal and until removed should invariably be honored. Instead, it was summarily dismissed. Consequently, we will not be back.

I have read all the reviews below and am glad I did not have the same experience. I went there on a Wednesday afternoon bec I thought they were open for lunch. When I got there, the chef and the owner informed me that they were only open for lunch on the weekends but offered to open just for us, being that it my moms birthday that we were celebrating. How nice was that! The chef took care of us making us whatever we liked! Even gave us so extra eggplant rollatini! The Sangria is amazing, the best we’ve ever had! I would return!

Just an overall bad experience. My family and I came here on a beautiful Sunday night this summer. We were blown away by the views and truly enjoyed the atmosphere. Everything was going swimmingly until the food came. Simply put it was mediocre at best. The meatballs were way too soft and soggy, the mussels in our seafood dishes were non existent and their whole wheat pasta would have been better out of a box. The only enjoyable item that the six of us had was the pasta that came with the meatballs and the eggplant parm was OK. However, because it was such a great night and the view between the two bridges was so delightful, we were not dead set on it being our last visit there. The food was bearable, and decent enough to come back for the sunset views. When we got the bill we presented to our very nice waitress our Unilocal coupon with a check in, ‘Buy two entrée’s get a free appetizer!’ This is where the tables completely turned. What could have been a perfectly pleasant night, even with the sub-par food, turned into a nightmare. The owner began yelling at his employee for accepting our Unilocal check-in deal and allowing the free appetizers to be deducted from our bill! Considering there were 6 of us, we ordered 6 entrée’s, two appetizers, and a bottle of wine. The owner was actually cursing at our waitress! He clearly was unaware that the restaurant had contracted a deal with Unilocal and refused to ever offer any type of a deal to his guests(old and new). I quote ‘people come for great food and then expect to get free things, shove it up their asses!’ My family and I were shocked. Not only had my grandma been here before and brought 5 new customers with her, but he was actually carrying on like this in front of his guests! How could a business owner be so rude and hurtful to his employee who was simply doing her job? We paid our bill and exited the restaurant only to find our poor waitress crying outside! We felt terrible and even worse, we felt responsible! I hope it was worth it to the Due Ponti’s owner to lose an employee that night, future customers and the $ 25 worth of appetizers that we had the coupon for. This place is not only a sad excuse for Italian Cuisine but the owner is a sad excuse for a man. If I could award 0 or negative stars, I would. Clearly never coming back here again.

The décor and view is beautiful– the food not so good. I really tried to like it because it is a very nice place. The problem is the food is just not good. My husband had a pasta dish that came out cold. I had a chicken dish that was 21 dollars and totally not worth the price. They actually served frozen vegetables instead of fresh. The chicken was poor quality and sauce was nothing special. The owner came over and spoke to us before we ordered, he mentioned that the chef use to work at Il mulinos which I seriously doubt. My advice to the owner would be to fire the chef and revamp the menu.

Very happy happy that we tried this hidden neighborhood gem. The food is very good, they know how to make a great 3 olive martini and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Great place for a quiet evening with great atmosphere, food and a waterfront view.
