This place was on point. I don’t Unilocal often, but had to after dinner here. We were visiting family with half coming from Philly, another from Hoboken, and the rest locals, and even coming from big food cities everyone agreed this place was great.

A place like this has been needed around here for a long time. Excellent service and great food! Limited menu but that is because it is farm to table and fresh!

They finally rebuilt this place after it being closed for many years after the fire they had. I was looking forward to going back there to get some food… Well. the food was not that good, it was expensive for what you get as others have mentioned. What was most irritating was that for that price point or any price point, you should trim the hard gristle off the meat. Every bite I took, I had to pull or half spit out what I was eating. Epic fail on their part, they weren’t paying attention to detail. Looking beyond that, the flavor was ok, wasn’t great. The 4 dishes we have had, 2 were disappointed all around, 1 person liked her dish and I was so disappointed that I don’t think in would go back. I think it’s the same owners and cooks as last time but feel that they over focused on trying to master the 5 dish menu by trying to be like the gourmet lunch truck chefs. They seem like good people and I don’t like to give them 2 stars but that was being generous after paying the large bill for a little bit of mediocre food that was poorly prepped(hard fat). So this a$ian fusion is expensive for what you get, it’s worth a try to just try something different. Keep in mind their sandwiches are about $ 13 and their kobe burger is $ 17. Try it and maybe you might like it, for me, I rather pay NYC prices in NYC be the food is usually a lot better due to fierce competition out there. Tender hill is Asian tapas

A pretty limited menu, but what we had was very good. The only salad on the appetizer menu was $ 11.00. It was plenty enough for two people, but they should offer a smaller version for one. We had the Whole Roasted Chicken for 2, and it was excellent. Crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Great flavor. The best roasted chicken we have ever had. The accompanying vegetables were also very good. The prices were a bit steep, but the BYO option makes the experience affordable. We will be returning.

I did go back a second time for lunch. I had the pork buns, they were very tasty, although not the usual pork buns. They were more like pork bun tacos, with pickled every thing, the pork was very good, the hosin like sauce for the finish was nice also. So the burgers are good as are their style of pork buns. Not sure how long they will last, at the price points in place. Maybe it was lunch and not many people, but the ventilation seemed better.

I can’t express to you how excited I was for this restaurant to open. With the lack of quality restaurants in the area, it was a breath of fresh air to see a farm to table joint opening. I remember checking their FB page daily awaiting news of their grand opening. Skip forward about six months and I have visited the restaurant three times. Some visits were great while others left something to be desired. My first visit, I ordered the Kobe burger for lunch and was blown away. I do recall the patty being a bit oversalted, but everything else was spot on — from the perfectly cooked burger to the sunny side up egg. I remember telling my wife this was one of the best burgers I’d ever eaten — an overly used phrase she would say. On this visit, my wife ordered the Korean BBQ burger and we shared the beet appetizer. She wasn’t thrilled about the burger and pointed out how much larger the bun was compared to the patty. I had a bite and thought the taste profile was very good, although not as good as the Kobe burger. The beet app was also very good. My wife especially liked that. My next visit, I brought one of my foodie friends for dinner as I was excited to hopefully share the same experience I had at lunch with him. My experience couldn’t have been further from my initial visit. We started with the pork buns and crab roll. The pork bun was extremely lackluster. The bun itself was good, but that’s where it ended. The amount of pork belly on the bun was very disappointing. If I remember corectly, two small peices. The meat was also overcooked resulting in a dry bite. Lastly, they were very light on the sauce, which didn’t help aid the dryness. Overall, this was a miss in my opinion. Next was the crab roll. The flavor profile was just off here. The sweetness of the peach did not compliment the crab the way I was hoping. The crab was plentiful but not as flavorful as I’d like. Overall, I hoped the ingredients would work together better than they did. Finally, we both ordered the Kobe burger medium rare. This was the greatest disappointment. My burger was not evenly cooked. The middle of my burger was closer to medium rare, but the outside was medium at best. In addition, my egg was severely overcooked. Both of these led to a dry burger, which would seem to be unheard of for a Kobe burger. Unfortunately, it didn’t end there. The burger was severely oversalted. To be honest, this may have to do with the type of salt they use, which would appear to be kosher. I would also substitute carmelized onions instead of onion straws. The straws do nothing to enhance this burger. For a $ 17 price point, this burger needs to be executed perfectly; and, in this instance it was not. My friend’s burger was cooked slightly better, but he had many of the same complaints that I had, specifically being oversalted. Overall, my friend and I agreed that the creativity was there, but the dishes just were not executed properly. I’ll follow up at another time with my third visit.

My wife and I have been here a few times for lunch and have really enjoyed it each time. The staff is very friendly and you can tell that they take great care in the food they make. We’ve had the pizza, mac and cheese and the BBQ Beef sandwich — all amazing. The inside is clean and spacious, very nice. Only possible improvement might be to expand the menu slightly, maybe increase the portions a little and offer more sides /apps. Other than that, this place is really great and we can’t wait to go back.

Went in for an 8×10 special chefs tasting menu(need reservation and for a limited time only). I was offered a flavorful delight. Of the 8×10 offered at the time, Kale Gomae Salad was great and to die for. Served with lotus chip and pickled lemon rinds– the kale was presented artfully with a purpose in mind. In a neat ball of Kale was miso vinegrette which provided a sweet, fresh taste unlike other kales which is served bitter. Also amazing was roasted sweet potato, served with pine cream sauce which was a fantastic idea full of pine nut aroma. I recommend this restaurant as it has a fresh ingredients and new ideas for cooking. The servers were really nice and provided us with ample attention. I will come again!

The food was amazing, well prepared, made to order… service could be better. two young chefs with eclectic menu. Both my husband and I don’t eat any red meat so selection was limited. but still the cast iron pizza, gnochi and the appetizer crab/shrimp croquettes were delicious. Booking for the 8×10 on Wednesday soon. Glad this place opened. A place for foodies.

We went to dinner and I have to say I was very disappointed in this place. I would be suspicious of these reviews posted here as many have just 2 or 3 reviews and some are from out of the area. If you are a serious Unilocaler you can figure out which one are real posts and are aware there are those that pay for positive reviews. Patrons can not just look at the star rating and need to examine the posts closer. First the positive. It is a very clean place, modern looking and the servers are friendly and attentive. Now the negatives. First the menu. Very and I mean very limited. It is pricey and the portions you get are small which equals not worth the money. We had the whole chicken for two. There was a half small potato and small greens(I guess the salad). There were NO veggies or even dinner bread. The taste of thechicken was average. Honestly I have enjoyed the half chicken at Boston Market and got more, spent less and tasted better. The people behind us got the Kobe burger and found out it was quite small and that was 17 bucks! I heard them complaining(to each other) and wished they had some specials other than the limited menu. The place is nice and the set up is very professional looking however for the business to sustain it needs to add more items to the menu and lower the prices to make it attractive. Even as nice as this place is their menu is printed cheaply on paper. It is like a menu you would pick up at the local Deli or bagel shop. If they try to continue with this menu and prices sadly we will be out of another choice to dine in area.

Very nice staff. We were greeted right away once we entered. The décor is very modern and neat. Great atmosphere and great food. You can definitely grasp the fact that the restaurant is a very modern vibe. I believe the portions are perfect. You do not leave the restaurant with a gross feeling that you have over saturated yourself with food, instead you leave with a very healthy satisfied feeling. My friend and I went for lunch and ordered the ramen and Kobe burger. We are definitely coming back. Great selection of sparkling water and dishes. I recommend coming here with your friends or family. If you want something light, they make very fresh salads. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. Plus, their coffee is locally roasted from black river roasters(down the street), delicious! We also like the great logo!

My go-to restaurant whenever I want a delicious, quality, farm to table meal without having to dress up, find a babysitter, or fight traffic to get into NYC, Princeton, New Brunswick and look for parking. I keep coming back to try the entire menu, but get distracted by other new items. I wasn’t a fan of gnocchi until I tried my husband’s dish. Then I wanted to finish it. I’m a big fan of Tenderhill’s burgers(Kobe & Korean BBQ) and steaks; You can’t go wrong with them. After having the burgers here, Tenderhill’s burgers have become my new standard. I’ll be back to try the rest of the menu.

Good food finally came to Hunterdon County. The pork buns were amazing, venison corn dog expertly seasoned, gnocchi was a culinary delight and the eggplant was sophisticated and delicious. We shared everything and will come back again. Went the second time and not as great.

We had a great dining experience at Tenderhill! We started dinner with two appetizers, the crab, avocado and pickled peach roll and pork buns. Both were plated beautifully and delicious. The crab roll was light, flavorful and delicate. And the pork buns… my husband nearly ordered a second dish of pork buns — they were that good. For entrees we had the eggplant parmigiana and steak. We were pleased with both our meals. My husband didn’t love the cut of the steak, but that was personal preference and not a reflection on the restaurant. He still ate it all(and talked about the pork buns between bites). The service staff was great and it’s fun to watch the chefs doing their thing in the open air kitchen. Tenderhill is a gem and an excellent addition to our area.

This place is a gem. My husband and I both were both so excited to try tenderhill and we were not disappointed. The décor is sooooo adorable and trendy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was seriously perfect… they hit it out of the park! My husband had the Kobe burger that was topped with fried onions and an egg and he said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. The tenderhill potato was deceptively simple but delicious. I had the pasta with cherry tomatoes and it was summer on a plate. There was SO much flavor and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We finished the meal with an ice cream sandwich with homemade chocolate chip cookies. The menu is small but it doesn’t matter because they make the dishes perfectly. We will definitely be back!

Went with decent expectations, we had been fans of the Flying Milk Bar, but this was so disappointing. A slider sized speck of meat which is dwarfed by a regular sized bun and a few slices of eggplant and zucchini does not a $ 13 burger make. Seriously, the damn thing is all bread so it’s impossible to eat as a burger and so each component has to be sliced and combined on a fork to get the desired affect. Too bad it fails. Fried mac and cheese over pulled pork wasn’t much better as the portion was insanely small for $ 12. I would have told them so but no one came by to ask us how the meal was, not even when they cleared our plates. They get the second star for interior décor. The outside looks like a truck stop.

Adorable lunch spot! The food looks and tastes amazing ! Finally somewhere nearby to get ramen! I can’t wait to go back and eat everything on the menu. The space is just so inviting. I love the homemade tables and big windows. You can tell someone cares about the entire restaurant experience. It’s the small details that make the experience special ! Cough cough … I would love to brunch here !!

New american restaurant with an open concept. I love the feel of the place! They have their own garden in the back for herbs and vegetables so you know it’s fresh! I had the Korean BBQ burger and the sauce was delicious, it came with a baked-deep fried potato which was also amazingly delicious. The restaurant had its soft opening today(5−27−15) and I would say it definitely deserves to be tried! =)
