We went here for open skate while visiting the area. The rink didn’t seem crowded at all and we arrived right at the start of the session, but when I got to the skate rental area, I was told they were all out of ladies’ size 8. I asked what my options were, and they replied, «A size 7 or 9, or you can ask for a refund.» They also didn’t have skates for our 10 year old son, and they don’t rent hockey skates at all. The front desk gave me a refund when I explained they had no skates, but no one — at the skate rental or the front desk — apologized. We would never consider going back.

Nice and cold as a rink should be. The ice is poor at best, but the staff is ok. I much prefer the ice and building at the Steel Ice Center because it is one building and not two separate ones like the Rink in Whitehall. Reminds me of the rinks we used to play at as kids where you were just happy to find a place with ice and boards. I don’t think there is glass between the team benches and the penalty area, which isn’t a big deal, but just a small footnote. Son went to take ice skating lessons there. Was told we could help them on the ice, but they wouldn’t let us on. There were so many kids in the group and nobody was there to help with skates so I was fitting kids for parents. They are owned by a company that owns a few rinks and this one is losing big time to the Ice Center

Played hockey here last season and it was alright. Not the best rink I’ve played at, but it’s affordable and it’s a rink. Three stars since the ice is one of the worst. Some of the ice at the corners goes up a couple inches… and there are also other defects throughout. There was one game during the season which was canceled and the rink was rented off to some other group… even though both teams… AND referees showed up to play… Not a terrible place. A rink is a rink and if you’re here in the Lehigh Valley, you’re lucky enough to have this place, Steel Ice Center, and the municipal rink.
