Our first and possibly last time here. The menu looked fabulous and when we finally got some of our food, it was great. However, the service was awful. Our waitress didn’t bother to write down our order, and missed about half of it. The half we got was somewhat correct– wrong side items, etc. She wouldn’t even make eye contact most of the time. Not impressed.

Restaurant was clean. Service was good. I would describe as an American Family restaurant. Their burgers are ½ lb (which I find ridiculously large) but it is good to know they will do ¼ lb if you request it. Burger was not memorable but mac n Cheese was pretty good.

Great place for breakfast. Very friendly service. Local, hometown feel. We have a cottage here on White Lake, and love coming to the local restaurants. We always feel welcome. The stuffed hash browns were a hit with my husband.

My daughter and I stopped here for lunch on our way up to Ludington. I had the grilled turkey and cheese, sweet potato fries, and ice tea. Everything was fresh and homemade from the roasted turkey to the tea to the bread! Great food and great service! Yum!

Slow slow service lately. The younger waitstaff seems more concerned about gossiping rather than taking our order! It took 1.5 hours from entering to finally getting served out food. Ridiculous, especially when you have a diabetic on hand that needs food.
We weren’t singled out as other tables were being slow too. When asked why it took so long, the waitstaff laughed and said they were so busy. I counted 6 empty tables.
When the food finally came, the bacon was cold, the toast and sausage patties were burt and the hash browns where white and mushy.
It’s really gone down hill there in the past few years! Time to go back to the other local spots.

This is what a small town restaurant should be: bustling and friendly. They are not the fastest at getting the food out, but the quality is solid and the prices are reasonable. So if you aren’t in a huge hurry and not looking for a gourmet meal, then Gary’s will not disappoint.

Nice home town feel. The servers seemed to know everyone by name and what they like. The food took a little long to arrive at the table after ordering but it was delicious. Their corned beef hash is outstanding.
