This place is great. Me and my fiancé eat here a few times a month. My family has been eating here for years. Great people, great food, great prices, what else is there to ask for at a pizza joint like this?! Seriously though. And the menu has much more than pizza. Great cheese steaks and dinner platters too. If you haven’t tried Charles Pizza yet, plz do! You’ve got nothing to lose.

A cash only pizza parlor with rude employees and limited food choices. Every time I communicated with the employees there they were dismissive and annoyed.

I called at 10 pm(tonight, a Friday) to order a pizza and cold sub. They told me pizza only, kitchen is closed. Well your menu says you are open until 11 pm! No where does it say you stop making other food after a certain time. If it had then I wouldn’t be so ticked off right now. I asked for a cold sub, some bread and meat, but you couldn’t make that at 10 pm? Really? I’ve been coming here for a few weeks now, at least once a week because this is the only place in the area where the marinara sauce for sandwiches doesn’t have tomato peels in it(even though your pizza is full of them, but I don’t eat the pizza my fiancé does). But now I need to find another place because if you can’t even make me a cold sub why should I bother coming here again? Also your cash only policy is ridiculous. It’s 2015 and you should realize not taking credit cards is going to hurt your business. I doubt you care though, since again you couldn’t even make a sandwich at 10 pm.

Never ate here before, I call to order some food for delivery. And they say they don’t deliver or take credit cards. What pizzeria in this world doesn’t deliver. This is the first time I have ever seen a pizzeria that doesn’t deliver. And there isn’t many places that doesn’t take credit cards. Well guess they don’t realize they lose out on money not delivering or accepting credit cards. Because they will not get my business.

Excellent pizza and cheesesteaks. Arguably the best in the Whitehall and surrounding area. It’s hard to find cash only places anymore but this is certainly worth using the ATM for. I order pizza well done for the crispy edges and it comes out perfect every time.

I’m not sure what makes this little hole in the wall joint so good, but it is. Some of the best pizza I’ve had in Allentown.

Two slices, fries, two small drinks = $ 10.00 Order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. Crispy, thin crust, acidic sauce, cheesy(yum). Add your spices as you wish, oregano, red hot peppers, etc. Loud TV Community ketchup and mustard is kept in with cold drinks in the dining area. Pleasant staff.

Still the best pizza around. Authentic NY style pizza. Serious toppings, sauce is delicious and not too sweet.

one slice = $ 2.12 a little too much crust space between cheese/sauce and edge. it was ok in a pinch

Every few months, the lady and I pile all our bags(and occasionally some cats) into my car and make the epic drive from Boston to Whitehall to see her family. It’s a nice time — walk along the rail trail, go to the casino, watch a Zephyrs game, you know, all good things. But the real reason we come down? Lehigh Valley cheese steaks from Charles. For those of you who enjoy a Philadelphia-style sandwich, I respect your opinion but must politely disagree: putting a tomato-based sauce on a roll with shaved beef and cheese is the most fantastic idea since slicing the roll in the first place. It adds a sort of tang that plays well off the mellow flavors of any mushrooms or onions or peppers you might(read: probably should) put on your sandwich. I don’t know exactly how the idea for this sauce came about(perhaps it’s worth swallowing bites of cheese steak and pausing long enough to ask?), but oh man, Charlie’s(as the lady’s family refers to it), and I suppose the Lehigh Valley as a whole, you guys are on point. Also — they’re friggin’ HUGE. Road-tripping here is a great idea: I usually end up with half a sandwich for lunch, and the other half for the next day in the car, wondering why I’m driving away from a place where people cook things like this. Also worth noting: the pizza’s fantastic. Good, crispy-on-the-bottom, perfectly-cheesy-on-top, just-the-right-amount-of-bubbling-in-the-crust pies are hard to come by, and I’m pretty sure there’s some law of nature that states that the first pizza a child eats becomes their ultimate definition of good pizza for life, but twenty-odd years after my first bite of another slice, I think Charlie’s might have wrecked the curve on this one. Overall, definitely worth the U-turn on MacArthur Road. Like others have said, cash-only, so bring some bills, even though you can order up a food coma for two with a side of fried mushrooms for under about twenty bucks — and any place where you can do that is a good place in my book. Now, if we can get delivery to Boston going, that’d be pretty excellent.

This little pizza place was recommended by a neighbor, who told me every time her son visits from New Jersey he wants pizza from Charles Pizza. Then a fellow Unilocaler recommended it for cheese steak sandwiches. So on my way home from yoga the other day, I stopped by to give it a try. The cheese steak sandwich was the best I’ve had so far in the Lehigh Valley. I asked for and got provolone cheese instead of American cheese, which was a great start. Part of a good cheese steak sandwich is the roll, and this was on a good Italian roll. I prefer the Philadelphia style with no sauce, so can’t comment on the sauce. All together a very satisfying cheese steak sandwich! If the occasion arises for me to want take-out pizza, I will try their pizza, which my neighbor raves about. I’ve only tried one menu item, so 4 stars is as high as I can go for now. They also serve salads, dinners, cold subs, and hot sandwiches. Soda appears to be the only drink. There are a few tables to eat in, but it seems to me to be primarily a take-out place. I will definitely go back again to sample other items on the menu, especially the pizza. This little place is tucked away in a small shopping center across from the Salvation Army thrift store below the Sears shopping mall on Mickley Road — I almost missed it the first time I went. Be aware that it is CASHONLY — I’m so used to using my debit card, I almost didn’t have enough cash with me.
