Florida beauty at its best. Several trails in this park where you can either bike on a paved path, mountain bike, horseback and good olé hiking. We opted for the 3 mile in and out Florida trail to the shoals. It was classic Florida with a narrow palmetto lined trail with moss draped oaks. The trail was very easy, a few very minor hills. It followed the black waters of the Suwannee River all the way to the shoals. Unfortunately the water level was high today and the shoals were submerged. It was still a beautiful hike. Nice and clean and very quiet. Except for the sounds of the rushing waters of the river. Give this place a try if you are in the area. Bring a picnic lunch, do some geocaching and just enjoy Florida’s natural beauty. Bring some cash. Its a $ 4 fee to enter. Only reason for 4*s is because the long dirt road leading to the park. It need some serious smoothing out.
