Salon La Bottega

I heard great things about this salon so I thought I’d give it a try. I was booked to see Maryann Papasoddero (unsure of the spelling). After having her do my hair, a few weeks went by and I noticed my hair breaking off and my color turned orangey-​red. I texted her (she gave me her personal #) to let her know i was unhappy and said that she’d make time in a week or so to fix it. I couldn’t wait that long. Instead, I had a salon in NYC fix it and because it was NYC, they charged double! All in, between what Maryann did (or didn’t do) and then what I paid to fix it, it cost me almost $ 1000!!!
I feel that if she spent a little more time focused on my hair rather than her cell phone, I wouldn’t be so unhappy and I’d probably return to the salon. This was not a good experience at all. Maybe the salon itself does well but I surely wouldn’t recommend anyone see Maryann P.
Upon reviewing other reviews for Maryann P., it almost looks as though these are a bit repetitive and phony, as if she gave the reviews herself?!? One says that she’s «strikingly beautiful» and «makes good cappuccino»!!! Did she write these herself??? Most of them are written on the same day! LOL I wish I saw this before I let her butcher my hair. It seems that this person may be more narcissistic than anything. Who writes reviews about themselves? Had I known that she was the only one writing positive things about herself, I CERTAINLY wouldn’t have gone to see her!!!

I love this salon. When it comes to my hair I’m a fanatic who does it and so picky. This place is wonderful in every way. From the receptionist to getting shampooed and hair cut. I highly recommend this salon. :D

Theresa is my stylist. Haven’t ever been dissatisfied in several years of service there. She keeps my style trendy without looking too young for my age.

This review is for Maryann Papasodero. I was afraid I was never going to find a good stylist — that is until I found Maryann many years ago.
She is extremely talented and passionate about what she does. She is most concerned that you are happy but is not afraid to give you ideas and suggest what she thinks would look best. My advice– trust her! She knows her stuff.
She always listens to what I want — is really good about communicating what she is going to do — and then does an amazing job! Recently, I wanted to keep my overall length, but also got some much needed shaping! Typically, after leaving a salon, I rush home and wash my hair because I’m not a fan of how it gets styled. With Maryann’s cut and styling I never wash my hair after — I always love it that much! The cut is always what I exactly what I exactly want (and so rarely get at other places).
I always look forward to my appointments because we also have a blast. Which, as we ladies know, is a huge part of the experience.
Can’t recommend Maryann enough!

This salon is so hip and so beautiful. Everyone is very nice and they even make you a delicious cappuccino. I came here for highlights, roots and cut and Jay did such an amazing job. I’m extremely picky with my hair but she knows her shit and made me feel very comfortable. She is so sweet and has great attention to detail. She asked a lot of questions just to make sure I got what I wanted. Jay layered my hair beautifully and the color came out amazing. My hair looks shiny, feels so soft… Better than ever!!! I live in CA so it will be very hard for me to find someone to make me as happy as she did with the way my hair looks and feels. I highly recommend this salon and please ask for Jay… You can thank me later.

Had a haircut with Cynthia today for the first time after being recommended to her by my best friend. My hair came out absolutely amazing. I have hair extensions which she knew how to work with well and she gave me the most beautiful layers and angles ever and now it’s so much more easy to maintain and style. Cynthia is very friendly and very talented and I highly recommend her to everyone!

After 15 years of paying progressively more for my haircuts by an extremely talented stylist in Manhattan (he started at $ 100 for a cut and by the time I stopped going to him, his cut was roughly $ 370), I decided that I wanted to be able to afford haircuts and blowouts more than once a year. So I re-​visited my roots (pun intended) and found myself at La Bottega. One of the stylists, Louis, cut my hair from when I first HAD hair at the age of 3 or 4, all the way up to when I moved across the country at the age of 14.
My first visit back to him was for my bridal consultation, and I could not have been more thrilled. He not only gave me an unbelievable cut at a very affordable price, he also took so much time learning about what I envisioned for my wedding day and working with me and my hair to find the perfect style. When he did my hair on the big day, it looked even more incredible than I had pictured in my head! That was enough for me to make a permanent switch back to him.
I can’t give La Bottega 5 stars, just because I’ve never worked with any of the other stylists or gotten any service other than a cut and dry, but if Louis is any indication, then La Bottega is five stars. On my most recent visit, I also got the best head message of my life while I was getting shampooed. Heaven! For those who, like me, tend to go to the beauty salon looking like they’ve just rolled out of bed, be warned that the women who work here are not only sweethearts, but also looked like they’ve just stepped out of one of Anna Wintour’s magazines.

I was new to the area and this salon is near my house. I walked in to check it out and found it clean and spacious with very aesthetic décor. The receptionist answered all of my questions and was quite pleasant. I booked an appointment and returned the following week. Merita did exactly what I requested as far as my hair cut and my hair looks great. It was $ 75 for a hair cut and blow dry which I found quite reasonable. I understand they have a manicure and pedicure available as well, so I will try that next.

This place is great! I haven’t been here in a while but every time I’ve gotten a hair cut by Freddy or someone else has been to see him, compliments are always being exchanged. The last time I had gone, he gave me a very chic bob with a little layering. Well worth the money, as I looked and felt great (although my brother yelled at me because I tipped him and you’re not supposed to tip the owner — oh, what a nube I am!). He also has another location — I don’t remember where it is, so you’ll need to stop by the salon yourself or give them a call. :)
I fully recommend this salon. Even a poor college student like myself can splurge every once in a while. ;)
