Gym Source

Dont often bother with reviews but had to give Gym Source/​WP (and specifically Jeff Miscioscia) a mention bc of their excellent assistance with understanding my needs for gym equipment and not trying to upsell. Courteous, of course, and incredibly responsive. Over the years I have cheaped out on fitness equipment and found it is rarely worth it. With a good sale, Gym Source can come close if not beat the price and you get a responsible and professional retailer. Jeff or James are great.

Yes this place is pricey, but they have stuff that Modell’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, or Sports Authority will never have. I both a Smith Cage from a lovely lady here that went through all the available multi-​exercise all-​in-​one stand-​alone units, and she found the one best for my small basement space. It’s so good that with the addition of a few other pieces, I was able to say goodbye to gym memberships for good. A lot of celebrities buy their stuff for the high quality and personal attention.

The staff at this location is superb. They are all friendly, helpful and super knowledgeable when it comes to all the equipment in the store. (And there is A LOT of equipment in the store.) I cannot recommend this store enough for any of your exercise equipment needs.

Two parts to this review.
1) bought a $ 4500 octane q47ci elliptical. Staff was courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. The delivery and installation was done professionally. So far so good.
2) the machine was damaged with water from a sump pump that burnt out and overflowed. Gym source came to assess, charged me for that assessment (which is fine), but then refused to do the repairs. The machine, 4 months old, was still under warranty BUT I understood this was not Octane fault and agreed to pay in full for any parts needed (a power cord and tension motor). Gym source refused. Said they would not do it for «liability reasons». Not wanting to lose my $ 4500 investment we attempted to discuss what liability they were concerned with. Interaction was downright rude and disinterested. Zero interest in finding any solution. I couldn’t pay for the parts, they wouldn’t provide the service, and they had no suggestions about how or who else could help me avoid losing a $ 4500 investment after 4 months. At one point she said «not my problem if you didn’t have homeowners insurance». What? Of course I did, but only certain «appliances» were covered, which I came to understand is standard policy in Westchester county.
I ultimately got another company to repair the machine. Much more professional, courteous, and concerned. They even got me the parts under warranty.
I don’t just want a business to be knowledgable about the machine or product. I want them to have some customer service focus. And a focus on customer service not just BEFORE they get paid but AFTER.
Needless to say, I won’t be buying anything from gym source ever again.

The manager’s name is James and he is awesome ! ! ! A few months ago we decided to put in a home gym, we wanted a treadmill and an Elliptical. The elliptical we had purchased elsewhere but did buy a True brand treadmill from James at Gym Source. This guy knows his stuff inside and out. I believe he is also a personal trainer and about the most fit guy I’ve seen. He is cordial, knowledgeable, not pushy and very accommodating and will work with you on a price. In addition to the treadmill we also bought a Cybex Bravo total gym. I was totally pleased and have referred a number of people to him as well. I’ll also put in a shameless plug for Don Demas (Find him on LinkedIn) a trainer referred to me by James who was fantastic.
If price was not a concern I’d buy every piece of equipment from James and Gym Source. You do get what you pay for!

About a month ago, I went to gym source to purchase a treadmill. As I walked in, the manager came right over to help is. He was extremely knowledgeable and eager to help. We ended up purchasing the treadmill and have enjoyed it very much. I went back earlier this week, to buy some weight machines – once again the manager was there, very helpful and found the perfect machine for our house. he did a full layout to show how the machines would fit in the room. I highly recommend this gym source!
