Great place to go eat. They serve you so much. The staff were great. Will be going back soon.

The fried shrimp platter is always good as is the catfish. Lots of good food at fair prices. You won’t leave hungry at that place. The owner has expanded the interior and parking lot. He is doing it right with slow, planned growth. My only complaint is you can’t pay the waitress. You have to go to the order window and pay there and sometimes you have to wait in line.

Excellent Mexican Shrimp Cocktail!!! 20+ Shrimp! The best I have ever had, coast to coast! Get it and make your mouth & tummy happy! Mmmmm!!! Zing!
Now, as for my company’s meal… Humph! This is why a star had to be subtracted. When ordering, my company asked if the shrimp salad was made with romaine and the server said, «Yes it is.» Well… Bless their heart, they must not know their lettuces! Lol!!! Salad came out… It was a big ol’ plate of ICEBERG! The shrimp salad was meh! Little, tiny, gritty shrimp on iceberg lettuce, a couple tomatoes slices, and a couple avocado slices. The homemade dressing was tasty! Also they ordered 6 fried oysters; they were itty bitty. Cooked well but microscopic AND A DOLLAR AN OYSTER. Seriously, they were the size of a quarter.
When checking out, I gave the owner (I think it was) feedback about the shrimp salad and she said next time ask for the butterflied shrimp because that could be done at an additional charge… However that option wasn’t listed on the menu.
Other patron’s plates of fried fish and shrimp looked awesome!!!
Server was really good and restaurant was clean! I will be back, for sure!

While this is a seafood restaurant, these folks know how to cook a number of different foods from burgers to tacos to gumbo and étouffée. I don’t eat much deep fried food so it is nice to have plenty of other choices. We usually order the tacos for take out. You choose corn or flour tortillas, and they are served with the meat of choice, onion, cilantro and two sauces on the side. I’ve also tried the gumbo, the shrimp boil and the shrimp salad. Ask for your shrimp to be grilled if you get the salad. If’s off menu but they will do it, and it is delicious!

Definitely one of the best restaurants in East Tx. Large, plump, perfectly seasoned boiled shrimp. Recommend spicy when the waitress asks. Same with crawfish. Fried butterflied shrimp and catfish filets large, meaty, and a nice thin batter. Fried oysters pretty good, although not my fav this time. Jalapeño hushpuppies, yum! Good tartar sauce. Can get melted butter as a condiment, too. Didn’t care for the cole slaw. Good tea.
Bathrooms are big, clean, single room kind. Wooden baby changing table in there.
Fast, friendly service. Good prices.

Best food, quantity & quality for the price in east Texas! Food is always fresh & you can have the fish & shrimp either fried or grilled. Tacos are served on your choice of either corn or flour tortillas & you get a choice from many meats (the chicken on corn are the best in my opinion). You can add anything you would like on them from tomatoes to avocado. Gumbo & étouffée are great! Burgers are delicious. And the boiled shrimp is amazing! You can have ½ lb or a lb of them. You can get the shrimp plain, mild or spicy & they’re served with two boiled potatoes & one corn. Stop by & eat at this place if you’re near white oak!

Great food and great staff! My husband and I usually eat here a couple of times a week. I am a burger fanatic and they make some pretty good ones! The whole menu is yummy! Give them a try if you live in the surrounding areas, better yet it’s worth the drive if you don’t live close!
The prices are great and they are not stingy with how much food they give you!

I’m from Arizona and in East Texas for work. Given I was so close to Louisiana… I was craving some crawfish and shrimp and this place was recommended. Wow! What a treat… I ordered 1 pound of crawfish and ½ pound of shrimp… both spicy! Absolutely amazing. I had to order another pound to take back with me to the hotel… Even the side potatoes and corn were tasty! 5 stars!!!

Great food and cozy atmosphere. The Pier is better than David Beards catfish and Fishermans Market. This is my new favorite place to eat and it’s very affordable too. It’s definitely a hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed and portions are big.

UPDATE: It’s been over a year, and New Pier keeps expanding! First, it was from walk up only to dine-​in as well. Now, it looks like an enclosed outdoor dining area is going in.
I keep discovering new things about this place: For instance, you can «customize» any meal as you like it (avocado, etc.)
Very happy to see this hardworking family make it: They deserve to have their limited parking space filled to capacity every day. Tip: Call ahead whenever possible. It doesn’t take ‘em long, but you don’t want to be last on the list…

I love the tacos, served with fresh lime, cilantro and homemade green salsa, good stuff! The tortas and burgers are really good too. Great street food, glad this little place is right down the road from me.
