This place is the absolute bomb! Where to go for ice cream? DQ doesn’t even compare. I’m not gonna lie, I like the other place, but this is the place to be! First of all, service is not very fast, but don’t get mad, it’s worth the wait. It takes longer because of the giant piles of ice cream they are scooping! I’ve waited 20 minutes in the drive thru, but you can probably get served a smidge quicker if you walk up to the window. They offer old fashioned hand dipped ice cream and soft serve. Slushies and blizzards are available. Oh there’s about a thousand varieties to choose from, give or take. If you feel like a banana split or a sundae, no worries. My absolute favorite flavor of ice cream is peppermint — with the real peppermint stick pieces. Mr. C’s has amazing peppermint. I will say superman isn’t so bad either. lol! My bf usually gets chocolate peanut butter or butter pecan, he said the last time the butter pecan wasn’t great. Prices are unbelievably fair. I love the service I receive every time I’m here, and I love when the older guy says see you tomorrow! Yes, you will!

Super delicious hand dipped ice cream, soft serve, sundaes, coolers, slushies, you name it they have it! The service is super friendly and the portions are huge and well worth the price. It also helps that Mr. C is a rockstar in his own right. My only criticism is that I wish you could order some of the speciality sundaes in a smaller size too.

This place is excellent!!! All treats are served with a smile and an enthusiastic attitude. I frequented Mr. C’s in high school and recently came home for Easter and was so happy to see that everything was just how I remembered. Can’t be beat!

I am saddened by the service i got today. Having lived down the road from Mr. C’s, I have been a very loyal customer since they opened. I have always gotten such pleasant service, and yummy product. I am such a regular that the servers usually know what I want when I get to the window. I always order the same thing. So when I went today, ordered the same thing I have been ordering for years, and received something different, I asked if this was the correct order. What followed was a series of statements telling me that the order was correct and has always been made that way. This was almost have the size it normally is. The servers were being nice and trying to explain it and offered me something else. I refused the replacement and asked if there was a change in place. That maybe from now on this is how it would be made. Again, telling me that no changes have been made and I am wrong in my memories of the ice cream I ordered last night. Again the servers were being nice and trying to help. The problem came when Joe came out to talk to me. The server mentioned that she checked with Joe about the order and was told it was proper. Hearing that Joe was there, hoping he would remember my face, I asked to talk to him. The server paused and at first seemed reluctant. At that time, I told her the order was going to melt and make a mess, and could I please just get my money back. She did refund my money and went to get Joe. Joe was mad at me before he even got to the window and started snarling at me and telling me the same things the servers did. He wouldn’t acknowledge my questions about ordering something else. I was going to order something that wouldn’t make a mess, until he stated«You got your money back, what else do you want?’ I never got short with any one, I was never unkind or rude, I was just curious as to the change. I was trying to order something else, trying to continue my patronage, and was met with a very cantankerous, rude and unprofessional Joe. The person in charge was the rudest and most unprofessional person. My hat is off to the servers who kept their pleasantness and professionalism, even in the face of their boss who was the exact opposite. Mr. C’s has lost a customer today.

How is it that such a unique and cool little corner ice cream shop that serves excellent soft serve concoctions in the middle of gorgeous lake-filled Michigan has zero reviews?! Maybe it’s because I passed about five others on my brief, 10 mile trip through the area. Anyways, this place is well worth your stop. An aging newspaper hangs in the window marking the day Steven Tyler of Aerosmith dropped by, which certainly enhances the charm. It seems that most — if not all — of the ice cream here is soft serve. Their specialties lie in parfaits and flurrys. I can’t speak to the parfait, but the flurry is pretty damned good. Think Blizzard from DQ but more original and handcrafted, though not quite as yummy. I ordered an «Almond Joy» flurry that featured sweetened coconut flakes, almonds, vanilla ice cream and chocolate shell. I was confused as to how they were going to dip a treat created in a cup into the«magic shell» syrup that hardens when cold, but I soon realized the answer. There are bits and pieces of the hardened shell mixed throughout the treat, which I’ve never seen before. I bet they fill the cup halfway, add the shell, let it harden, mix it all together, and then add another layer of goodness. The only downside to the place is that the soft serve was kind of bland. If the base ice cream was richer, this place would be killer. As it is, though, it’s still worth the stop, unless one of the other 10 places within 10 miles blows it out of the water.
