Really nice dinner setting. Staff was amazing, a little disappointed with my steaks, seemed like they lacked a bit of flavor. Still delicious and the experience over all was great! Ms. Marsha is a sweetheart The Rosemary bread and sugar cane butter were a delicacy

So, for the positives… my husband enjoyed his shrimp and gr its. Our waitress was okay, a little frazzled by some very cranky diners before us. My view was okay at the table, but my husband faced the corner with no view of anything except the wall. I ordered a Caprese Salad. It is the south, summer and … what could be fresher, right? Wrong, the tomatoes were not anywhere near ripe, I got three tiny slices, with three tiny slices of cheese and three whole basil leaves with a terrible vinaigrette. YUCK! I would never go back there to eat.

I love Nottoway. The first time we visited New Orleans we stayed here. The look of this plantation home is one of the most beautiful homes of all. The grounds are well groomed and lush. The staff takes very good care to make sure your stay is everything you imagined. And the food is beyond delicious. Every time we visit New Orleans we take a detour to get another view of Nottoway. It is breathtaking.

I visited Nottoway on my birthday this year back in February, and I still rave about the experience. Nottoway is truly a gem for anyone looking for a quiet getaway. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the history behind the home is fantastic. Nottoway is the largest plantation home still standing in Louisiana. There is a guided tour, but you are also welcome to walk the grounds yourself. We went to the restaurant in the home for dinner and breakfast the next morning. The atmosphere was very romantic and the food was AMAZING. I had redfish with roasted pecans and a rum sauce of some kind. I think about making the drive just to eat there again. For breakfast, I had french toast on french bread. It was such a nice twist on the meal using french bread. The grounds are so beautiful that they even do weddings. Hehe. I had a great time at Nottoway and plan to return in the future.

Loved the room, service and breakfast(cane sugar on grits FTW)! Would have been nice to know which parts of the room we stayed in(boys wing) was original/historical and what was updated. Dinner entrée(salad w/seafood and chicken) and dessert were terrible. The chicken on the was WAY overcooked(dry and hard) and the pecan pie was clearly microwaved and rather bland. I expected better. The butter for the rolls was AWESOME — star of the meal for sure. Used the gym — liked the dual pulley unit but would appreciate some free weights, more misc. equipment and more windows and ventilation. Appreciated the late checkout granted and the lady at the front desk helped us take pics. Check out the sunset from the levee — walk West for ~.5 miles to clear the trees.

This review covers only the Restaurant in the Main Plantation House. Please see my separate review for the Plantation itself. I enjoyed both Lunch and Dinner here last week and found that Dining on the enclosed patio was a special treat. The indoor dining room(and bar) are nice, but unfortunately throw off too much of a subterranean vibe, due to the lack of windows and low ceilings. At the same time, the food was consistently delicious and the service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming.
