Delicious food and great adult beverages! Our waitress was outstanding. White Bear was celebrating Manitou days so it was quite crowded but still great food and service. We even had a visit by the Winter Carnival heroes, the Vulcans!

Went for mini bridal shower with my family today. Long story short — we spent $ 125 upstairs and excellent service. Moved downstairs due to the heat. Another $ 125 tab there. My mom paid in cash and said no change needed. Hayley(?) the server — very sweet and amazing all evening — came back, my mom had given an extra $ 100 above tip accidentally! And she came back to check!(who does that?) she Def got some extra top money, but seriously I hope she gets some amazing karma and a raise. Food was great, rudytinis were on point as usual, and now service is unparalleled. Thanks for a great afternoon /evening Rudy’s.

Delicious I cannot say enough about the food and service. It was an awesome experience. Thank you Rudy’s Red Eye grill for a perfect dinner.

Really good! We stayed at the hotel connected to Rudy’s and originally made reservations for the amazing looking rooftop but end of April in Minnesota it was cold! They had our table set up for us when we arrived. So thankful as it was busy. Serve seemed nice and attentive. Food was good and won’t break the bank. I hated that the bathrooms were outside and in the pool coming area. Weird and busy.

Rudy’s is a bit of a conundrum for me. The food is generally pretty good, it always seems to be packed, the ambiance is both a bit fancy and also fun and relaxed, not stuffy at all. I just never really feel like it is worth the money though. It’s a bit on the expensive side and I don’t think the food or the service every really rises to the same level as the price. On our most recent trip we came in for dessert and ordered the chocolate lava cake to share. Everyone serves chocolate lava cake so you have to nail it to stand out. Unfortunately they did not. It was pretty dry, even when eaten with ice cream or the lava filling. I don’t think I’d order it again. On past trips we’ve had the appetizer sampler as a meal, which was pretty good, the buffalo bites stand out in my mind. We’ve also had breakfast here after church and it was again pretty good. I’m sure we will be back for some variety, but there are so many great restaurants in WBL that Rudy’s just doesn’t make the regular rotation for me.

We went here on a whim and it was good. The waitresses were awesome as well. They saw or son(10 months) was getting antsy so they walked him around the restaurant so we could finish our lunch! We will be going back very soon

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, but that’s about it. I’ve been to Rudy’s a couple times now and I always leave unimpressed. The food is very typical– nothing special. The service starts off okay, but then the server disappears after the food is delivered. After going here today, I don’t think I will be returning. First of all, our server wasn’t even the one to drop off our food. Another server came over and called out what dish she had and we had to raise our hands indicating it was ours. I find this incredibly annoying and displeasing because there were many mistakes with our orders. Also, our table wasn’t cleared after we all had finished our meals. Our server even dropped off dessert without bussing our plates. We had to flag down a wait assist and ask him. I dined with six other people today, and none of us got a single refill on our water– our glasses stayed empty for the entire meal. Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience at Rudy’s. If you’re looking for a nice meal and great service, go elsewhere.

1÷25÷2016 Very poor service. We had a reservation for our hockey team on Saturday 1÷23÷2016. Service was exceptionally poor, with an inexperienced staff assigned to our respective tables. Food quality was inconsistent. I would not recommend dining there with a group larger than 6 people.

I met a friend at Rudy’s last night for dinner. First of all, there was some confusion at the host desk because both of us were seated but neither were told the other person was there already even though we both told the host we were meeting someone… Therefore, we sat at separate tables for 15 minutes before realizing we were both there. As for the food, it was OK, but nothing I would go back for. I think the highlight was the honey butter that came with the bread basket. I ordered the special, which was a blackened walleye. It came with green beans and I ordered the three cheese penne. I was very disappointed in the penne. I’ve had better from Kraft. It was a small dish filled with penne noodles in a pale cream sauce topped with what looked like shredded cheddar cheese. I expected a lot more from a nice steakhouse… My fish tasted fine and I liked the sauce on the green beans. Our waitress was friendly but not overly attentive and it felt like we waited a long time for her to come back and take our order.

Service was outstanding and friendly. Had the walleye sandwich and there was way to much breading. The fries were good tho. The service saved the review but would try something else.

Very fresh and unique offerings. For instance, one of the sides they offer if sweet potato hash browns-crisp and flavorful. And I LOVE the green beans. my Blackened Ahi Tuna was a little too blackened-although still SO good. The other 8 ladies at my table had great food too. Can’t go wrong with this place considering the service is exceptional also. Popular too so a reservation is a good idea.

The venue is great up on the Roof Top. Flip flops and sunglasses are at the entrance for your use, it you wish to get into vaca mode. You’re up on a roof top patio where every table has a big umbrella if you need to use it. The food was very good. My only complaint was the Margarita I ordered… very bad, but my mistake… obviously not in a Mexican restaurant. Order the martini like drink that you pour over fresh berries — that is the house drink and it’s good.

My wife & I were very satisfied with the food. The prime rib was delicious, tender and generously-sized for the price. Delicious green beans! The service was friendly, but a little shaky — more interested in making sure I knew about all my potential up charges than just bringing my preferred side… sorry, no anchovies for the caesar, here’s a tall instead of a pint(I guess I’ll take it!), forgot my wife’s wine. Overall a good experience, but we’ll likely check out other spots in White Bear Lake before coming back.

We’ve only been once. I didn’t get it. I was loud and crowed. The food was meh. The prices are ridiculously high. The service was no better than you’d expect and Denny’s. We won’t go again.

The service was really friendly and welcoming. However, the food wasn’t very enjoyable. I got the sirloin steak cooked to medium. It came out well done and super dry. My friend got the pork chop. It was so dry that it barely went down without drinking water. It’s a nice place with a rooftop just to hangout and grab some drinks and appetizers on a relaxing afternoon, but don’t expect high quality food.

Had several drinks. Rudy tini was great even though it was 16 bucks. Christian the waiter, was cool. Put up with our crap. All we ordered was apps and I think that was the way to go. Like the upper deck but don’t get placed in the corner by the ac unit(REALLYWARM). Still love this place. J and B.

So I’ve been staying at the hotel for a couple weeks now. Thought maybe I would finally give the rooftop restaurant a try. I’m just by myself so I asked the waitress for a seat at the bar. No need to get a table. There was one seat open. Guy behind the bar said it was open. Then this guy who aparently needed to sit next to this woman confronted me and said«This is my seat». He had that look like he wanted to confront me and possibly start a fight with me for daring to just sit down. I’m a 55 year old guy, my fighting days are way in my past. Eric(The manager here) should there be security at the roof top or something? I just wanted a bit to eat. Not to get threatened by some goofy bar fly. It was definetly a WTF moment

The food at Rudy’s was great. The fish on my Black and Bleu Ahi Tuna salad was beautifully pink. And the large shaker portion that they gave with their summertini was well worth the $ 16. It was the small details that seemed to really throw me off. My date and I arrived to a mostly empty restaurant(everyone seemed to be at the rooftop bar). The restaurant itself boasts a luxurious dining room with a classic boudoir theme. So you can imagine how confused I was when I found the silverware not to be wrapped in a table napkin but a cheap face towel you can buy 10⁄5 $ at Walmart. Did they get these from the attached hotel? When we were brought complimentary bread, our server brought one roll for each person. Seriously? Even Olive Garden isn’t that stingy. These things aren’t huge problems, just a bit contradictory to the overall luxury dining experience theme. Again, great food, just confusing details that I’m sure I’m not the only one who notices.

Rudy’s has that sort of old school fancy restaurant without the fancy price. The reason we came to Rudy’s is that we have a block of rooms setup at the hotel connected to the restaurant for our wedding. We will also be staying at the hotel for the wedding night, and we might come here for a night cap. At first I was a little skeptical. The service wasn’t stellar out the gate. There was a group of waitresses hanging around the hostess booth just talking. They sort of gave us a look of «why are you bothering us» when we walked in. Took a minute for someone to come up and offer to help us, even though there was a team of people right in front of us. They might have been off duty, but if that was the case don’t stand at the hostess area. After that little hurdle we were seated in a quiet booth and looked over the menu. The food is very classic american. Simple sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. They also had a good selection of beer, wine, and cocktails for very reasonable prices(being from CA pretty much everything in MN is very reasonable though). Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Not stellar, but I can’t find any major fault in her service. I decided on the cashew chicken sandwich and a french onion soup. The cashew chicken was delicious. The bread was buttery and rich, the chicken was moist, and the cashews added just the right crunch. A very well done chicken salad if I do say so. The soup was also good. A little on the saltier side for me, but not to the point that it ruined the dish. A grain more and it might have tipped it over. I’m excited to come back in the summer to checkout their rooftop bar. Very solid choice for a yummy bite that won’t break the bank but is a step up from a more casual dining experience.

I love Rudy’s solely for sitting on their rooftop. It always seems to be very crowded on nice days, so definitely plan to spend some time lounging on the couches and enjoying a cocktail before you’re able to be seated. The rooftop is fairly new, only having been finished a few years ago. I love to come here for happy hour! Especially on Tuesdays because their Rudy-Tini’s are only $ 10. If you don’t know what a Rudy-tini is then you’re definitely missing out! It’s a shaken raspberry martini topped with fresh raspberries. It’s so refreshing and definitely strong. You’re also given the full shaker so I recommend sharing of you have to drive! The service is usually pretty quick once you’re at a table and the servers are always friendly. The food is pretty good too! I’ve tended to stray towards the salads and wraps for the most part. I really love the veggie wrap but I always add chicken to it as well! Always a good time and a fun atmosphere.

Where to begin? Pro’s Ample parking. Friendly staff. Nice flavoring on the green beans. Cons Sitting anywhere even near the opening to the pool are adds the aroma of chlorine to your meal! Prices are much too high for menu selections! My coconut-batter covered shrimp had the tail shells on and were totally covered and pressed into the shrimp making it impossible to see. I had to spit out my first bite and then remove the batter on all of them in order to find and remove the tail shells! VERY messy and they were overdone as well. My baked potato had been under warm lights for way too long. Our server was friendly but very forgetful. It’s VERY loud so if you want to whisper sweet nothings you have to yell! My 3 dinner partners were underwhelmed with their meals as well — chili too blah, veggie wrap boring, salad w/blue cheese adequate. Wine –meh. It’s extremely unlikely I’d ever go there again.

Sucks for a special occasion. Made a reservation a month in advance and obviously they overbooked, we got sat in the«fireside room* no fire, just a conference room. Same overpriced menu. Not happy.

This review is for the Roof top. Arrived about 5:15 and was told it would be 45 min to an hour wait for a table for 4. After several checks with the hostess stand we were seated. Wait ended up being 1−½ hrs. Drinks were good, service was good. Food was just OK at the best. Better choices for patio dining in White Bear are Washington Square or Manitou Station.
