La Rosita Grocery Store

La Rosita in Wheeling has GEAT FOOD as that is why I did give them 1 Star but after going there and getting Tacos in 15 minutes I saw another charge on my card.
I called La Rosita and explained that it was funny that the girl said the Credit Card machine was not working and needed to do it manually.
After speaking to a lady at the La Rosita and explained that I talked to my bank and they will do an investigation and it was more of a courtesy call in the case there was something funny going on it would be good for them to jump on the issue.
I then had the ladies husband call me back using caller ID and after he got very rude I explained to him that he just lost a long time customer at most likely 250 employees from my company as customers that they all use card cards to buy food.
Great food but very bad customer service!!!

solid authentic tacos. I can’t recommend the burritos because I’ve never ordered one here. super friendly staff. A little chaotic to order because they have no formal line but once you yell your order the guy will have your tacos ready in five minutes. Again, these are real tacos, real meat with a lot of substance. I highly recommend you stop by if you’re in the area. Also, my kids love the Horchato.

Great food, I always order for carry out and picking it up on my way home, always busy, always fresh.

I’d stop my review there but I think you should know what you’re getting into when you come here. The place is a small grocery store with a grill to the right of the entrance. It’s a Mexican store with mostly Mexican food.
Mostly Spanish is spoken, but over the years they have gotten to cater to more of the industrial parks in the area. You’ll see lots of people picking up large orders for multiple professionals or offices. I sit and enjoy the conversations and ambiance.
Fresh meats and freshly made salsa is what makes this place great. Most taco innards are prepared the same day. Fresh cilantro and onions come on all tacos. Double tortilla, of course. There’s always meat pouring out of your tacos and burritos, so no skimping on their part.
Lastly, the salsas are shared, so be courteous and have some etiquette when using.
Beyond that, enjoy juices tacos and Mexican drinks.

Really. Best burritos/​tacos in neighborhood an don’t have to be Mexican. Really fast and good. Totally recommended.

When you go to a hole in the wall taco joint, it’s because the food is great.
La Rosita was my choice for that until today. The carne asada was fat chunk central. I’m Mexican and I know a lil’ fat gives it taste but this was just plain sebaceous meat! We also had al pastor and a chewy white fat chunk met us again.
I’ve been here 10+ times and always satisfied but not today.
Will stay away for now.

Spectacularly simple. No frills on the menu, just TACOS, TORTAS, or BURRITOS.
Ask about the ingredients before you assume you know what’s on your sandwich… just sayin’.

The tacos are stuffed with meat.
The burritos are deadly. Thick and heavy.
The torta’s are so satisfying.
This place has a strong following of locals.
The outside looks like a hole in the wall but there is plenty of parking.

I’ve yet to walk more than 14 feet into this location as the food counter is just to the right of the front entrance, but while waiting for my tacos or burritos to cook up I do peak at the produce and assorted spanish labeled grocery goods.
This is not your designer WF or TJ shopping experience, its full of food stuff the locals want, grew up on and survive on daily. If you want the same kind of chilis or adobo mix your bilingual friend uses in her taco dip, chances are you are going to find them here.
As far as the tacos and burritos… total street style. Chopped raw onions and cilantro with a side of homemade spicy salsa (the red kind). Damn tasty, hot, juicy and cheap. Tacos $ 2, burritos just at $ 5 and big enough to share or put yourself into a coma of meaty proportions.

This place literally puts a lunch and dinners worth of meat in their burritos. Unbelievable. A diamond in the rough, if you don’t check it out you are really missing out.

Want to try Mexican City style Tacos? This is the place to visit. A hole in the wall inside the grocery store. However, the greasy stand provides the best tacos in the NW burbs if not Chicagoland. Don’t mind the landscapers, construction workers standing around. Just Wait your turn and order. Rule of thumb. If the natives eat it, it must be good.
