I drive past here twice a day, every day. Decided to give them a whirl. Very friendly. Food had no flavor even after I added a ton of salt to the fries, and condiments. Too bad. I would’ve eaten there a couple times a week.

this is a good place if you’re just getting dogs, which is all I get when I go there so it serves my purpose well. it’s equidistant with burger king from where I work, and I can get to/from dog den quicker than bk nine times out of ten. I can’t comment on anything other than their hot dogs. they’ve got Vienna beef as every dog joint should, and their dogs are cheaper by 50c-$ 1 compared to competitors in the area. a good place to stop in for a quick cheap lunch. 2 chicago dogs with a 16oz pop will put you back about $ 7 with tax. guys working there are friendly and make small talk while you wait. I’ll keep stopping by once a month or so until I’m given a reason not to.

I have been coming here since I was a little kid back in the 1980’s(back then I think it was called Foxy’s) since my grandma lived about a mile away. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The food isn’t the best but it’s still good. I’m always tossed up between a burger or hot dogs when I come here. Service is also really good. The décor could use some upgrading, but in the same way it feels nostalgic inside. If you’re in the area, definitely give this place a try.

This is just for the hot dog. Excellent value at $ 2, yes $ 2. They don’t pull the ‘free fries’ scam and then add a buck or so to the price of the dog. If you want fries with that then order some. The guy making my order asked me if I wanted sauerkraut and celery salt after I said I wanted everything on my dog. Not sure if it’s optional or thats just the way they make ‘em here so I had a little kraut and of course the celery salt. The bun was not a poppy seed bun and could have been a little warmer. It was loaded up with the typical Chicago dog fixins’ and a thin slice of pickle instead of the big ass spear that over powers the whole sandwich. Burgers on the open flame grill looked and smelled really good. I’ll try that on the next visit. There’s a counter and several tables and booths for eat in. Older ‘dive’

I love this place. Dino and Jim make you feel like family. The hamburgers are excellent. Burger, Fries and a Drink for $ 5.25 definitely a bargain. My friend and I have been to a lot of Burger and Dog joints Dog Den is at the top of our list.

Eh, nothing special. I had one of the two lunch special(cheeseburger). Cheap meal, came with a burger, lots of fries and medium soda for 5 and a quarter. Thank God for onions, tomatos, pickles, lettuce, ketchup and mustard though. The meat on the burger is BLAND. Fried were OK. I probably won’t come back. Just had a taste for something from a hotdog stand. Oh, the guy working there was super nice.

With Hot Dog places, I feel living in Chicago has really spoiled me to no end. I have fallen in love with such places as Huey’s, Superdawg, and the best of all Fat Johnnie’s. Does this place even compare? Not a chance, but it still is a very sufficient hot dog stand I can see myself visiting again in the future. The food wasn’t life changing, but more along the lines of a good cheap meal. You won’t be disappointed, nor will you be incredibly moved. The Dog Den just gets the job done. The service was adequate and the food comes out fast. They have some solid outdoor seating which I’m sure is enjoyable during the summer months.
