This was my first visit to this pub to meet a friend for drinks. I had a few half/half beers. I did order the crab dip, and it wasn’t that good. Having said that, the place really got packed and everyone was having a good time. That tells me that I must visit again and try more items on the menu.

This place is cute, has a warm atmosphere, good service, and the food is delicious. They have some good veg options, too, which is nice. I have only been there twice, but look forward to more times.

Great atmosphere, food, and service. I ordered the fish and chips, which was really good. The batter was crispy and light, not too thick. Great portions too. The hubs had bangers and mash, which tasted delicious and homemade. The irish croquettes were unique and really good! I would get those as an app next time. The table next to us had bread pudding and it smelled amazing! Loooved the live music! Overall it was a really great experience. I can’t wait to go back!

Great company! Came a little too late to fully experience the cuisine, otherwise it was a great atmosphere to hang out. Bartender was very friendly and accommodating. Only ordered black & … beers and late night appetizers which were exceptional. Definitely a great place to revisit.

I love the service here and the food is pretty decent. A lot classier than I would think(thought it would have had the stained glass pub vibe but it did not!) Why I did not give it 5 stars is because the menu will potato you out, which is great if you’re really into potatoes and not so great if you don’t want to pay 15 dollars for a pile of potatoes with some meat/fish on the side. I love the fact that they have vegan friendly options too because this is why we chose to visit this place because not a lot of places in Wheaton outside of Thai are vegan friendly. What really surprised me was just how good and generous of a serving their side salads are, as well as how good their coffee is!(Agent Dale Cooper would approve!)

Turns out the owner of this bar is one of those skeeze-bag bartenders who decides if you ask for water, all of a sudden all service ends. Gives me a dirty glass(literally had black stuff streaked on the inside) and fills it up with warm tap water. It’s unfortunate that their are still bar owners out there who want their paying customers like common trash once they stop ordering booze. Limerick Pub: Helping People Over-Consume Since 1985.

I have been coming here since they have opened. Food and service is awesome. If you are in the Wheaton MD area, you must stop by. Rock Creek Chop House is opening up across the street in December 2015. Same owners, so I expect the same great service and food quality as Limerick.

First time at this pub and i was pleasantly suprised. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We order the salmon entrée and rib special, both were very delicious, no complaints. Prices are a little above average, but fair. Facility is nice, outdoor seating was great for a Friday summer evening. Crowd is mixed of cultures and ages. Although in the heart of Mexico, this place was very much American/Irish. Glad to have stumbled across this place, definitely will return.

This is probably the best neighborhood pub in Wheaton. It definitely has that feel to it. Pretty sure the bartender is Irish and can swear really well if the situation calls for it. There’s live music here all the time. The food is really good. I’ve had the burger, shepherds pie, and meat loaf. Damn that meat loaf is tasty. It reminds me of that time I was in County Kerry and old man O’Malley invited me over to hammer some nails in his barn. Well we got to hammering as we will and by the end of the day we nailed shut the door to his house and to the tractor. It was a wee bit of a pickle, but his missus made a fine meatloaf and it gave us the extra energy to undo all the doing we did. And got done. And so it goes in County Kerry.

As always trivia night at Limerick’s is crowded! This neighborhood bar is welcoming with good food, flowing spirits and helpful staff. I always look forward to making this place a part of my evening out.

We love this pub! The owner is salty and appropriately accented and can out curse me(which is an impressive accomplishment on its own). They have beers my husband likes and a cider on tap. We always get something to eat while we’re there. All of the food has been awesome with only one exception. We are normally there for dinner or after dinner, but we’ve been once for breakfast. That’s the exception to the awesome food, but only part of it. The only thing that doesn’t get five stars is the eggs benedict. That only gets three stars. The potatoes that came with the eggs were incredible though. My husband’s breakfast was perfect. I got a mimosa, which was good. Overall we are always happy here. Good staff good food and good drinks.

This is perhaps the best 100% english-speaking bar(to be nonPC and a little direct, I really mean non-Hispanic) in town to go to, at least that I know of, so I have to give 5 stars due to lack of competition. (If any readers think I’m wrong, please comment or message me and I will edit and correct this review asap. There is one restaurant, Savannahs, in a nearby town that has a bar, but it is listed mostly as a restaurant, and it is weaker in the bar department. Ruby Tuesday has a bar, but it closes at midnight on Saturday night, so it isn’t a true bar.) Anyway, the staff here are smart and friendly, and the food is pretty good for Irish food(this is coming from someone who hates irish food). Drinks, I can’t speak too much about, since I don’t drink. One story I know of is that the bartender gave a bill that was too low. Clients explained it was too low. Bartender thanked them and offered everyone free drinks. Nice way to say thanks and build the atmosphere. They even have a trivia night, which attracts interesting intellectuals.

Fish and Chips here are lightly battered, perfectly cooked, piled high, pieces of perfection. Chips are not the cigar-thick traditional«chips», but are regular americanized french fries. I did not taste them, so I’m gonna have to leave you in the dark about those. According to other reviews, the jury is out and it looks like it’s gonna mistrial with a hung panel. But man is that Fish on the Fish and Chips good. It’s so good, that I didn’t even order it, but I’m insisting that you do. The person I was meeting with gave me a small taste, and it’s all I can think about. I ordered the salmon sandwich, opting to switch out the fries for side salad. Good choice on my part. The side salad(which I asked for before my meal), was surprisingly fresh and full of a mix of lettuces. I asked for balsamic vinaigrette and got some type of lemon vinaigrette(which I believe to be their house dressing). It was very good! Reminded me of the Tessamae’s Lemon Dressing, but with more flavor. The salmon was a bit over for my liking. But when piled on a sandwich with their Old Bay tartar sauce(extra points for that), it was pretty delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again knowing that their fish is fresh. I might ask for it medium though. Man, did I tell you how fresh the fish was in the Fish and Chips. It was largely flaky tender hunks of white soft filet. We also got a side of the brown bread which is an Irish favorite that I don’t see served many places. It was also delicious! Limerick Pub… nice job. Food there is truly fantastic. Server was a bit difficult to get ahold of, and was a bit inattentive as she was busy both tending to the bar, and the restaurant seating. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Have been here a few times, be it for their Tuesday night trivia or just a local pint as there aren’t too many options for a good local brew. First the good: Its nice inside and there is outdoor seating which is a great addition. The beer selection is pretty good too. Now the bad: Service here is always slow. Even when its quiet it seems to take too long to get a drink. The food is poor too. We once had potato croquettes which were an appetiser but managed to come out after the main meal as they forgot to make them. That’s okay, it happens. But, when they were arrived they were frozen in the middle. This is pretty typical and why when I go now I don’t order food. So in summary, beer good, food poor, service very slow. A real let down and why I go to Mcginty’s in Silver Spring far more often.

I usually come to Limerick on Tuesdays for trivia. I used to go to Fire Station 1 but Limerick has much better food and better service. Parking is free at night in the lot across the street but if you come for trivia, make sure you get there early because the place is TINY! Service is alright. They seem to be perpetually understaffed and I understand that serving people who are doing trivia is tough but the wait staff could be a bit less surly. Prices are good and their liquor selection is vast but I’d like to see more craft beer on draft. Their food is better than most bar food and the onion rings are amazing! All in all, it’s a good bar but I don’t go there outside of trivia nights because it isn’t much different than McGinty’s or Quarry House nearby.

Banger Sausage and Mash $ 16(4⁄5 NOMs) Late night drinks and food with traditional sausages and potatoes. When enjoying a few drinks late at night you really want something that will help you enjoy even more drinks. This traditional Irish dish would make any sausage fan happy. Two nice and thick lamb and beef sausages served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and potato croquettes. Just fell in love with this balls and sausage combination. Served with a side of very spicy mustard for some extra kick to it. Vegan Sausage $ 9(4⁄5 NOMs) Lets dive into meatless meaty goodness! This grilled apple and sage sausage came highly recommended by one of our nomster fans. At first glance I couldn’t even see the sausage, they just piled a mountain of sauteed mushrooms and onion. Sausage texture was identical to that of a real bratwurst. Comes with Guinness mustard on the side, but be careful and don’t use too much. It has such a strong flavor that it might take away from the sausage. There is a lot going on and you need a big bun to hold all together. I think this is a must try for any vegetarian. Crabby Pretzel $ 10(4⁄5 NOMs) Going to krabby shack under the sea! I couldn’t pass by baked soft pretzel smothered in crab spread and cheddar cheese. More like a mountain of flavorful crabby cheesy goodness on top of soft pretzel. It’s very bready so make sure to split it with a friend or two. Don’t really see something like this oftent. Great starter to an adventure under the sea.

You got to be kidding me… I decided to go to this pub because all of the«Good» reviews on this page. These reviewers has to be family or friends because i got a completely different vibe. We walked into the pub where sign stated«Seat Your Self» so me and my friend decided to seat our selves. We waited for about 10 minutes until someone even came and offered water. I guess waiter didn’t know we was sitting there… Fine. The food… what the hell… i ordered the limerick burger with fries. The burger was meh ok. The fries was the nastiest thing i have ever tasted. I think the fries were old. It tasted like crap, and looked like it too. i also ordered wings as appetizer which i got with my entrée… really… Fine. The wings are def old. It was nasty. The ambiance– It looked very old, and not a place where i would ever go back to watch a game. Waiter– My waiter was actually very friendly, and was trying her best to make sure we was okay. She knew we looked disturbed. I did not want to get up and leave. They def need more waiters there was only two people. People were actually raising their hand to get waiters attention… u gotta be kidding me… Tip to management. Invest in some lights. Invest in some better quality food. Invest in at least one more waiter.
