Very happy with this place for fall pumpkin picking. A little bummed because the website said admission included a couple things, but was actually slightly cheaper with no inclusion. Each thing costs extra but reasonable overall, cheaper than those«bigger» venues. Cow train, zip line, corn maze, some animals, hayride. Great pumpkin field for pictures. They also have cider donuts, which is awesome!

We came here when we couldn’t even get into the parking lot at Schmitt farms not far from here the week before Halloween. Having been to both this season, I can say that Schmitt farms is a better value. Firstly, there is a $ 2/person fee just to get into the farm, which I thought was excessive. We were offered a wagon, and we were off. We were made to walk around in a circle before we were allowed to enter the area with the pumpkins. It was very odd. It was where the line would be if there was a line that day, but there wasn’t, and I was very confused why we had to walk through the line to get back where we were. The pumpkins were priced comparably to Schmitt, but the entry fee made them more. It’s been 10 days and the pumpkin is still smiling on my front porch(I made a jack o lantern and soaked it in a water/bleach mixture. I roasted the seeds and they tasted delicious, and saved the pumpkin meat to make bread with. We also bought apple doughnuts before we left, and they were quite good. I’ll come back next year, but likely only if Schmitt farms is as crowded as it was this past weekend.

My friends and I decided to spend a gorgeous Sunday afternoon pumpkin picking. As I typically do my picking either on the East End or Upstate, I completely forgot this place was here, and I am glad it exists so close to home. I am lucky enough to know someone who lives in the area, so the group of us parked our cars at their home and walked over. However, I did notice that parking is at a premium — they have very little parking on the farm itself and there’s a small lot with free parking across the street. If you’re planning on going, I would say head over early. If you go in the afternoon, you will probably have to circle. As I entered, I was greeted by a really friendly lady who pointed us in the direction of where everything was — if you just wanted to purchase pies and donuts, you head to the left. If you wanted to actually pick pumpkins, head up north. This is where things tend to get a little tricky… In order to gain entry into the pumpkin farm, admission is $ 2 per person. Not horrible right? However, everything is cash only. That’s right, folks. In 2015, a place that caters to families and acts as a Long Island tourist attraction DOESNOT take plastic. No mini POS terminal, no cell phone with a Square app, nothing. Just cash. While there are signs throughout the venue advising people of the policy, I just think it’s a little weird that they don’t take plastic, especially since most of the activities there are at cost… This leads me to the actual picking activity — there were plenty of pumpkins to pick from, and the farm itself was very clean. There were all sorts of people there as well — couples, families, friends hanging out. Lots of adorable babies in wagons and pictures being taken. Pumpkins are 70 cents a pound, and the average pumpkin is about 10 – 12 pounds. Depending on how many you pick and the size, expect to spend average about $ 10 – 20 on your pumpkin(s). My friends and their children also took advantage of the hay ride, the ponies as well as the play land. All of these are at(low) cost, so make sure you have enough singles. There are also places where you can grab a coffee or hot chocolate and some light food if that’s what you’re into. I didn’t partake in those things, but the prices for these items weren’t crazy. The best part for me(and my only reason for going outside of being with my friends) was the general store. They have fresh cider, homemade apple and pumpkin pies, honey, and different floral and decorations you can buy. They also have fresh-baked apple cider donuts that come 6 – 7 to a pack. They are amazing. Would I go back? The staff is really friendly, the location is close to home, and there is a lot to do there for the littles. And — those donuts. THEDONUTS. However, the fact they do not take plastic in 2015 while charging for each activity irked me, so I am on the fence.

What a rip off! I am so disappointed with this place. After checking multiple sites for a place to go, we chose this as it seemed small and kid-friendly. Plus, the site advertised their rates as $ 5/pp admission fee which included everything in the kiddie play land, hayride and corn maze. Pony rides, zip line and the silo slide looked like they were an additional fee but we were okay with that. Imagine our surprise when we got there to discover that it’s $ 2 to walk in the gate, $ 5 for the corn maze, $ 3 for the hayride and $ 1 each for three of the five«elements» in the kiddie section. Add to that $ 5 for the 100′ long zip line and $ 6 for a 30 second pony ride. Plus, the pumpkins are $.70/pound and they are all ten pound pumpkins, no small ones for the littles to carry. And you can’t even take your wagon to your car, you have to carry the stuff. We were lucky, we had a friend with a wagon. But wait, there’s more: BRINGCASH! No debit or credit anywhere on this farm, not even inside where the food, etc is. Never again, next year it’s back to my old standby, where I pay one price(the one posted on their website) and I only have to really pay for food. It’s a shame, the place is cute and would have been great if I didn’t feel swindled walking in the door.

I have come to this farm for several years now. I truly enjoy pumpkin picking here and this year was no different They had a great pumpkin patch and a ton of attractions for kids to enjoy. Picked up an apple pie as well as we were leaving. BEST apple pie I have ever had!
