Anderson Park is home to a baseball field, a playground, several shade structures and BBQs, lots of open lawn, and it’s adjacent to a swimming pool. However, it’s the access to Clear Creek Trail and the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt that reels me in. This park is one of the access points to the Clear Creek walking/biking trail with the southern edge of the park butting against the path and water. Walkers, bikers, strollers, runners, and lollygaggers have lovely views of the stream, as well as the trees and surrounding vegetation, from the maintained path. If I lived nearby, I’d be walking my dogs here on a daily basis. While the grass in the park itself is dry and brown, a few steps onto the path and you’re surrounded by greenery. If you’re used to dead lawns as I assume most of us are(we do live in Colorado, right?), then the park is well laid out for company picnics, group events, etc.

I enjoy going to Anderson Park. They have baseball fields, a swimming pool facility, an area for picnics, a small playground, and a walking path that goes along the stream. The City of Wheat Ridge holds festivals here. We attended the 4th of July event here in 2010, which was fun. People were nice, the food was pretty decent, and my son enjoyed getting a plastic hat from the fire department. Parking during events is a nightmare, so either take the bus in, or be prepared to walk 10 blocks at least, depending on when you get there. Otherwise, it’s not too bad.
