Curious Kids Learning & Child Care Center

I send my son to Curious Kids and I have to say that I am much happier than I thought I would be (as it is always hard to leave your little one in the care of others). The teachers are great! He has been learning so much — I’m so impressed with the things he does and says that he’s learned from school. My son always smiles when we arrive at school and often wants to stay and play when I am there at the end of the day for pick up. The teachers made going back to work much easier by letting me call to check in during the day, offering suggestions for things I could try at home, and keeping an eye out for things like ear infections. I wish the outdoor play area was bigger and closer to the building, but there is an indoor playroom which is great during rainy weather and the colder months. Overall, we’re very happy here.

We expect a great deal out of any child care facility we do business with, because it plays such an important role in our child’s life. And when a facility fails our expectations, as yours did, we make it a point to pass along the concerns.
We are saddened to have come to this decision that we have based on the lack of proper care of our son. On previous occasions we have expressed with strong passion our dissatisfaction of the services rendered. Curious Kids eagerness to change and make improvements were never followed through with. We have expressed our concerns with items of safety, hygiene and care, and they have not been resolved to our level of satisfaction. We feel that we were given a sense of hope, but a delivery of false promises.
On several occasions we have had telephone and email conversations with Curious Kids expressing in, detail, our frustration. We noted our concerns in regards to forms that were consistently incomplete or inaccurate, out dated incident reports, improper or undocumented feedings, cleanliness and safety of the environment, concerns with personell and disregard to us as parents.
As of most recent (last three attended weeks), Our son has come home with a SEVERE diaper rash. I consulted with multiple professionals who had nothing to gain, and expressed that, although a common thing, the extent of his rash could have been accelerated by the lack of attention and proper care.
Since the beginning we have noticed problems (e.g. Our son being sent home with another child’s diaper), and we continued to conduct business with your facility, and address the issues. We would like to express that we are EXTREMELY disappointed with Curious Kids and with ourselves by standing by using our son as an experiment to better and improve your facility.
Although we are to the point that we are; your facility does not go unrecognized for some OUTSTADING employees. We’d like to specifically point out Shauna Cahill, Lia Gannon and Jenn Newcomb; these individuals define the true definition to a child care worker. Their outstanding service has made us committed to your facility in the time we’ve been there, and were largely the reason that we have stayed as long as we have. All three have exceeded themselves when it comes to providing outstanding service. Shauna, Lia and Jenn are definitely the engine, which made and makes your facility run.
