My fiancé went to bring me there for V-day, so we were hoping it would be romantic. Unfortunately, this restaurant is more of a bar, and the atmosphere was tacky and outdated. The restaurant was much too casual and didn’t seem very clean at all. So the initial impression was disappointing, but I was hoping the food would at least be good – ESPECIALLY because there were«Cheesecake Factory» prices for a disconcerting atmosphere. I ordered steak and my boyfriend ordered chicken Marsala. My boyfriend wasn’t a fan of the CM, and my «steak» was actually veal. When I complained, they tried AGAIN to tell me it was steak, which it absolutely wasn’t. The much-too-nonchalant staff then asked«what do you want ME to do about it?» My fiancé and I then decided to leave, because we had enough of the crap that place had to offer. There was a reason Cannoli’s restaurant was COMPLETELY empty besides us and staff, and that is because it absolutely didn’t deserve five stars.

Imagine driving by a restaurant parking lot on any Friday or Saturday night, and seeing fewer than 5 cars. That describes the parking lot at Cannoli’s. We finally got to try the food, and now know why the lot is nearly empty. We were with friends and got to try a number of dishes. Toasted Ravioli… straight out of the freezer and into the fryer. Onion Rings… actually not too bad, but I think they were also frozen. Pasta and sauce… very mediocre Meatballs… way too salty(also have my doubts that they are made there) Pizza… The only item we tried that was really pretty good.

Not a place I’d go back to unless close by. The lasagna was tasty but it had a ton of sauce on it. If you put that much sauce then provide bread or garlic bread with it. The alfredo dish that my BF had was decent. Only three people in the restaurant at 530p Tuesday night so service was quick. The view of the pond is neat. It’s just not a place that wows you. The décor is bland. Only desserts they had… you guessed it… cannolis. Recommend a dessert menu.

WORSTSERVICEEVER. We had to leave. 3 other tables left as well. The only cook was OUT of the kitchen clearing tables. Two waitresses, one who was the bartender for the whole place. And mind you, it was not that busy… I’ve waitressed before and it was totally manageable. Ours didn’t know the menu, we had to literally point out on the menu what we ordered and never got. When our calamari came out before our drinks she stopped at two tables first asking if they ordered calamari before she brought it to our table. She brought our first round of beer that were half full and forgot two(two sam summer and two bud drafts). It took our waitress 10 minutes to take the order at the table next to us and brought them their drinks after their dinner was served. Nor did we get a our second round of drinks or our pizza. An hour and a half later and we had enough, nor had our waitress been to our table in over 30 minutes, we paid for what we ate and left, never having dinner. To clarify, an hour and a half, one appetizer and one round of half full draft beer. And its too bad, I’ve had their take out pizza and its really good. 3 tables walked out in an hour and a half because of the lack of service. Never, ever again, this place is a joke.

My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try on Saturday night. It’s right down the street from where we live so I’m surprised it took us over a year to eat there. Anyway the food was not great and the service wasn’t either. The place was dead for a Saturday night and I can see why. I ordered the manicotti, and one of the ends on one of them wasn’t fully cooked. It looked like they were frozen and then boiled, where this end wasn’t submerged in water. My girlfriend ordered linguine with clam sauce and it was unremarkable. Her fork was dirty. To end dinner we ordered cappuccinos and they took about 15 minutes to make, which is too long when the restaurant is empty. Worst of all, they tasted more like milk than espresso. It tasted like a milkaccino. The atmosphere is not that much worse than the food. The music is loud, and inappropriate for a dining experience. I don’t want to hear the depressing«In the arms of an angel» while I am eating coconut shrimp. Fail. In addition, the chef stares out from the kitchen and it makes you feel uncomfortable. Our waitress was nice and meant well, but if you work at a family style restaurant, cover up some of those gangster tattoo$.

Last night I went there with 2 other Italian buddies which was about our 5th visit. It was not as pleasurable as the past year’s experiences had been. The place was empty(it was a Monday night… so you might expect that). Rather than nice soothing music(Italian recommended for this type of fare), there was loud«rap» music playing. We thought we went to a «late night club» in Boston and were waiting for some«chickies» to arrive ! It was very distracting and actually quite annoying. The décor has always been nice and the food was very acceptable. We did have to keep reminding the server to bring us things like a serving fork and spoon for our anti pasta, oilive oil and/or butter for our bread, cream for our coffee, etc.(the little things that you automatically expect). We’ve frequented this place because of its location to where the 3 of us live and it provides a good centrally located meeting spot. I’m sure our next dinner will be Italian, but, probably elswhere.

How many«grand re-openings» does one restaurant have to have before they finally figure out that maybe the restaurant business just isn’t for them. I went to their latest one the other night with my wife and daughter and despite all the«new menu! new décor!» blah-blah-blahs on the way in, it’s the same old dull Cannolis. Because of it’s proximity to our house, we’ve used this place previously for functional pizza on a Friday night and had minimal complaints. Nothing great, nothing bad. Now it appears, as the place stands on it’s last legs, that the owner wants to go down in flames. I ordered a Stella Artois(it’s clearly advertised in posters around the restaurant) — they’re all out. Out? On a grand(re)opening night you’re out? K, how about Bass? Nope, but«we do have Bud and Coors.»(right) Sam Adams? Amazingly enough, they did have that. Next we ordered a garden salad but asked the waitress if they could use the«baby greens» from the other salad on the menu instead of the lettuce and she said of course we could. She came out a few minutes later with«the other salad» with gorgonzola and«craisins» all over it. We restated we wanted the garden, but with baby greens. She left and soon there was a hubhub near the kitchen. We turned to see the cook yelling animatedly at the waitress and the hostess. She returned to our table with the same salad and said«he said it’s either this or the garden salad, you can’t change anything.» We laughed and said«ok, no salad». Then more grumblings from the Soup Nazi-ish cook at the hostess, who then came over to apologize. Apparently the cook is actually the owner who’s crazy high strung. Your restaurant is on it’s third re-tooling and you’re arguing with customers about freaking baby greens? C’mon now. Another staff employee came over to apologize for him, saying he’s a little manic. We agreed, ate our pizza quickly and headed for the doors. Whatta mess. I’d say this is a place ripe for Chef Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, but perhaps it’s best just to let it finally die it’s third death.

Food is good– Huge portions! Definitely a reasonably priced family restaurant. Nice view of Whitmans Pond from big windows. Good, fun martinis. The service, however, not so great!

Cannolis is a great resturant if you live in Weymouth. The North End is THEBEST is Boston. But if your not feeling up to the T ride or drive, eat here :)

The worst service ever… I would not recommend this joint to my worst enemy. the waitress had a nasty attitude, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, but time and time again she came back with a miserable attitude. her tip reflected this I dont tip for crappy service. the food was not impressive, it was barely warm. Will not go back and will not recommend it. Thier customer service is non existant, too bad, I heard rave reviews but this place is one of the worst I have been too.

OK so apparently I’m the only one that likes this place. I’m OK with that. More Italian food for me. So Cannoli’s is in a nice little spot next to Whitman’s pond that has never really done very well — there have been half a dozen restaurants here over a decade or so. I am surprised that Cannoli’s has lasted here as long as it has. The inside décor is nice, they have some tables over by large windows so you can look over the pond while you’re eating, and there are several booths, too. We have never had to wait for a table, even on a weekend night. It seems like a family business — some older kids hanging out doing homework and the waitstaff are friendly with each other. I kinda like it. Anyway — the important thing is the food. My boyfriend and I usually get the Asiago Cheese Wedges for an appetizer — they come drenched in yummy marinara with some fried linguine, which is supposed to be for decoration but I love to munch on it because it is chewy and crispy all at the same time. He always gets a large meatball pizza — that way he makes sure he has some to take home and I can steal a slice, too. The crust is thin and crispy and the sauce is chunky with good spices. My brother has had the Tuscan tips, which were pretty yummy, but my favorite is the Cavatelli Capnisto — pasta with smoked mozzarella and grilled eggplant. MmmmmmMMMMMmmmmm. Portions are large and you will definitely have leftovers to bring home with you. As for the drinks — not a drinker myself but my cousin says they make a mean gin & tonic and aren’t light on the gin part. He was pleased. Overall — this may not be the place to bring someone you are trying to impress, like on a first date or something like that, but it’s a good choice for a nice dinner out with your sweet baboo or the family(they seem pretty kid-friendly). Never had anything I wouldn’t eat, never had trouble with the staff.

This is honestly probably some of the worst italian food I have ever had. It looked very alluring from the outside with the pond and all and the décor on the inside was cute. There was next to no one in the restaurant when we were there… bad sign. We had some nasty ceaser salad and i had some very pricey alfredo that was next to tasteless, for desert I thought this place could resurrect itself so i had a cannoli. i thought since this was the name of the restaurant that it would be good… no wrong. it was soo tasteless and the shell was stale… sooo nasty avoid this place like the plague!
