The Flower Box

Since I am out of state, my
order was fulfilled by The Flower Box. I ordered these for my mother, who lives in an assisted living facility. My father passed away a month ago, and my sisters and I sent flowers to her in honor of my dad’s birthday. My mother said the flowers were beautiful, but there was no flower food delivered with them. In addition, my name was left off of the sentiment card. On the second day, she noticed that the flowers were drooping, and thought that was unusually short lived. She went to change the water in the vase, and when she picked up the bouquet, there was no evidence that there had EVER been water in there! The vase and flowers were bone dry. When she called this florist, they poo-​pooed her concerns, and did not offer to make anything right. I had to call
, where they arranged to have another arrangement sent. What is strange is that they are «exchanging» the arrangements — picking up the bad ones and replacing with new. We’ll see what happens. My mother has already told several people at her living facility not to use this florist, and plans to tell the activity director as well.

They are more expensive than some places but I have always shopped here while getting flowers for a birthday or anniversary. Some roses I bought a week ago are still going strong with proper hydration and a little flower food, so I haven’t seen the issues with longevity some other posters have mentioned. They also offer cards, candles, and other knick-​knacks which you can give to complement your flowers. They offer a discount on their candles sometimes, it was buy one-​get one when I was there. It’s a good local business I’m happy to support, just wish it was a little less pricey.

This flower shop did all of my wedding flowers. I was very disappointed with the quality of the bouquets, corsages and my husband’s boutineer which they fell apart before the ceremony was even over and my flowers wilted and started turning brown before my reception even started! The owner advised me to go with more expensive flowers which I was fine doing so, but when I saw the finished products, there was nothing expensive looking about any of them and they were not what i had envisioned and explained to her. I brought in pictures of how I wanted them to look and she completely disregarded what I wanted. These flowers are in all of my wedding pictures which makes me so angry! If you are a bride who is looking for a florist — DO NOT go to the Flower Box!
