The Flowerfall

This place is owned by Cyrus who can only be described as an artist. His arrangements are so incredibly magical they don’t look real. My husband periodically brings home bouquets from him and they all look like still life paintings. Sometimes they have rustic thistle and ivy and actual bunches of grapes or real blueberries still on the branch. Sometimes there will be large cherry blossom branches with little pink flowers just coming into bloom. Sometimes there are ‘dinner plate’ peonies which open up as wide as their namesake. It’s a special gift to get a bouquet from Cyrus. I honestly wish I knew him back when I got married as I would have loved for him to do my wedding flowers.
Yes he is forgetful and sometimes doesn’t answer the phone but he is an artist! So have patience with him

I know very little about flowers. But the flowers Cyrus and Julie provided for our wedding were spectacular and caught the attention of our guests. Cyrus and Julie are creative, artistic and certainly knowledgable about flowers. I would strongly recommend them to others.

Cyrus did the most amazing wedding flowers this past Saturday for our daughter’s wedding … in fact well beyond our expectations! She was near tears when she saw how stunning her bridal bouquet was. As she said «I was so in love with my bridal bouquet, all of the bridesmaid bouquets and every little beautiful detail that you created. The delphiniums looked amazing on the card table and I was so delighted with how the centerpieces came together.» With an outside ceremony the hydrangea buds in the nearby garden had gotten zapped by the late spring freeze but he ‘staged’ it with hydrangea full flower heads in water tubes to add color and to complement the delphiniums atop his white birch bark stands above the large oversized baskets of fresh blue hydrangeas he had brought. His talent with flower arranging knows no bounds as well as his eye for detail.
He is honest when you ask for a flower that perhaps will not make it through the day due to its fragile nature but will suggest something that will be equally as beautiful. The flowers he uses are fresh from his NYC markets that he personally visits for the quality that he expects and desires for his creative talents.
My request for a floral piece for my purse was incredibly beautiful … in fact a one of a kind. while he complemented the father of the bride’s boutonnière to not only my purse corsage but to the bridal bouquet as well.
This is not just a flower shop … it is floral artistry at its best. The individualized service we received from Cyrus & Julie was refreshing. It wasn’t just another wedding to them … they listened and were both on top of every detail which included seeing pictures of the wedding gown and suggesting ways as to how to allow the dress not to be overshadowed by the bouquet. They take such pride in what they do and are such genuine. welcoming. lovely people.
When your wedding guests are asking ’ wow … who did the flowers and how & where did you find them? ’ you know you made the right choice. And to answer part of that question. we did the same. Someone recommended Cyrus’ talents when they had a dinner party and then we were told that all the guests could talk about was not the food on the table but of Cyrus’ beautiful centerpieces that adorned the table.

Buyer Beware! If you value your dollars, and appreciate value for money, avoid this store.
I heard great things about this florist, and I am always happy to buy local, but another florist will benefit from this experience.
My husband bought me a beautiful arrangement for mothers day; cherry blossom and peonies that looked striking, at first. As the peonies opened, they smelled rotten. The smell worsened each day. The entire arrangement lasted 4 days and then I had to throw them on the compost pile.
I called to explain the smell and he said that I was the first to complain, but I should come by and he would offer a replacement.
I stopped by a few times, but the store was closed I finally met him today. When I explained the situation, he inferred that the smell much be from my house. When he asked what I wanted him to do about it, I explained that he offered a replacement as a good will gesture. He then told me that he would give me a replacement and asked that I never visit his store again. Needless to say, I left without the flowers, and told him that I would gladly share my experience with the universe.
I’m sure he is a very creative florist, and some of these images of his flowers are truly wonderful, but his customer service is appalling.

The flowers from Cyrus Paktinat at the Flower Fall are absolutely AMAZING!!! Cyrus is so creative. I have been getting the most beautiful arrangements from him for years. Each arrangement is so unique and beautiful. Last week I received an arrangement from him because I am at home recovering from surgery. Everyday I would look at the flowers as they open and they are so beautiful. Three weeks ago I had an arrangement made for a bridal party and everyone commented on the beauty of the flowers.

This is absolutely the MOST TALENTED florist I have ever used. I called from South Carolina several weeks prior to my desired delivery date to order an arrangement for a special friend and was first impressed by the personal customer service provided to me by Mr. Paktinat. He took a great deal of time over several phone calls (yes, he actually called me, also!) to make sure the arrangement was perfect using flowers he hand picked especially for my arrangement which was absolutely beautiful (he sent pictures to me prior to delivery — I have never dealt with a florist would bother to take that extra step !). The arrangement was delivered it in an extremely timely manner; especially considering the massive snowfall in late January and slick road conditions. I will never use FTD again — any flowers I need to send to that part of Connecticut will be ordered at The Flowerfall of Westport. Should my order need to be delivered out of his area, I would not be happy, but would use whomever he recommended as he is a professional.

Their telephone greeting was «hello» and I had to ask if it was the florist. His reply was an unfriendly yes and that they were busy, 1 – 2 days behind. I laughed and explained that I was wondering about a same day delivery. He said no and hung up on me before I could ask for another delivery day.
He lost my business and gets this review.

I can not say enough about the EXCELLENT customer service I received from this shop. I called in from NYC, texted them a picture and a price point and they were SO accommodating. The owner was very sweet and thoughtful, he helped me google images of flowers to make sure I was getting what I imagined and texted me a picture of the bouquet once it was complete. He was a gem and I would use their services again in a heartbeat!

Cyrus, the owner, is a wonderful man. He is phenomenal at making unique and beautiful arrangements. He goes to NYC and hand picks all his flowers with care. By far the best florist around! The actual store even has a river running through in and garden its beautiful! Definitely check it out!
