Based solely on the $ 19 prix fixe lunch I would speculate that this place is doomed. Rubbery lobster bisque and a cheeseburger that was nowhere near as good as any I have had in a diner. Their business phone was on a loud caller ID which pierced what little atmosphere there was. This would survive if it stuck to old Mario’s prices. Normally I’d return for dinner before writing a bad review bit at these prices I don’t want to pay to be disappointed.

Friday Night — place was jammed. We ordered across the menu(lamb/veal chops, ravioli, ‘butcher’ board, dessert) and was very happy with the quality, portion sizes, overall value and wine list/$. The service was great considering the newness, as they have a proven concept. The space is 100% brand new/gut renovated, cool and comfortable. Bar was busy with a mixture of cougars, yuppies and some fossils which seems to be a representative sample of Westport in general.

I am conflicted by the thought of writing my review because I have enjoyed Harvest in Greenwich the few times I’ve been there. I also like 55 in Fairfield and Cava in New Canaan and I have been looking forward to the opening of Harvest-Westport for several months. I was, however, greatly disappointed by the extraordinary noise level, slow service, average food and exorbitant prices. I guess that pretty much sums it all up. Harvest is, at least for now, the happening place in Westport but it remains to be seen if all these folks will pay these high prices for drinks without moving on to the next«cool» place that opens. I fear the Harvest will needs to perform a mid-course correction if it plans to remain viable in Westport’s notably fickle dining scene.

I was really excited to try this place after reading about it on CT Bites. I know they just opened and I should have known better but we’re sick of dining at the same places and hey we’re adventurous people. I should have waited at least 3 months before dining here. The wife and I went for lunch today and they were off. Food was awful and not as described. Which was strange because the menu read really nice. Service was scatter brained. I didn’t see a chef which was the first problem. The owner was running around like a bat and yelling at the kitchen if something wasn’t right with a dish. I think he forgot they have an open kitchen. If you’re waiting for the train, go for it, it’s at least something to eat. If you’re looking to plop down some serious benjies I’d hold off. It’s not worth it. I’ll wait 3 months and go back. I know it’s new but they need a lot of things fixed before returning. I’m surprised seeing as they have several restaurants under their belt.

Whether you stop in for drinks at the handsome bar or for New American fare in the spacious dining room, you will enjoy the warm family hospitality that is so often lacking on the local restaurant scene. Lots of good choices for grazing or a full meal. The Siguenza family knows restaurants, with two other Harvest Wine Bar and Restaurants, as well as Cava, 55 Degrees and Scena in their arsenal. Their mod-meets-rustic overhaul of the former Mario’s is a huge boon to the Saugatuck area. Lucky us!

With any new restaurant you expect a few kinks within the first few weeks. However, maybe due to the Siguenza Family’s expertise in the restaurant business, we did not have this type of experience at all when we visited Harvest in Westport Saturday night! The staff is amazing and friendly, the service was top-notch and the food was so delicious I wanted to order seconds! The overall vibe was great and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Yes, I like the restaurant and hope they do well, BUT the noise is deafening in there and most of the tables are in the BARAREA, which doesn’t help the noise level. There are a small amount of tables in an area to the right separated by a wine bottle partition. Truly a poor design job that I hope they can tweak because they will lose customers due to the noise.

We were invited for the opening night party and it was a spectacular unveiling of a new space! Clean, modern, and unique finally a different approach to fine dining. We were told to make a reservation for the semi-private dining area and it will be quieter than if want to be part of the action! The energy and excitement is palpable every night and with the delicious drinks from the bar it sure is the place to be in Westport. Another night we came to grab a drink before getting on the train and the crowd was lively and buzzing! We were pleased with how quickly we got our drinks, how friendly and well trained the staff was, and how easily we were able to step onto the platform and catch our train back to the city! We will be returning for dinner soon, and for lunch in a few weeks.

First Unilocal review ever, but I feel compelled to lament the mediocre food, uninspired atmosphere, and poor service. After sampling a range of things on their menu, I can safely say I won’t be heading back to Harvest. Very disappointing. I hope they can work out the kinks, otherwise Harvest Westport won’t make it to the next harvest.

Went last night for dinner with another couple. Food and service were amazing across the board, and loved the updated atmosphere. I had the brussel sprout salad(could eat that every day) and the scallops with lobster. Both were SO good that I didn’t bring home any leftovers. Others at the table had the charred octopus(app), lobster mac and cheese(app), and the pork chops for mains. Nothing but raves. My one and only complaint is that it was quiet when we first got there at 7:00 but halfway through the meal I couldn’t hear anything the person next to me was saying unless we were yelling or leaning in. This is only their second weekend since the opening, so maybe it will be more subdued in the future. We had our backs to the bar crowd which was annoying because we were getting elbowed frequently. My advice is to look at your table placement carefully to get as far from the bar as possible. We will definitely recommend and return. Overall YUM!

Great addition to Westport. The space is beautiful. Can’t believe it used to be Marios. Staff is incredibly friendly. I had the burger which was amazing. Beautifully cooked with a smokey tomato aioli, pickles and cheddar cheese. My dad had the pork chop and said it was really good. Definitely will be back.

Great addition to Westport. Vicente and team have done it agian. Very nice bar with 8 beers on tap and a nice wine list. The grilled calamari was amazing along with the Shaved brussels sprouts. Cant wait to go back.
