Hot tasty food. Great service and large portions. Get the roast duck, it’s as good as Chinatown without the drive.

The lunch portions are huge here. It comes with fried rice(or white), eggrolls or crab rangoon, and smoothie/bubble tea. They use fresh fruit for their smoothies. It’s every bit as good as Joy Yees. They have all your generic«Chinese» food like orange chicken, mongolian beef, etc. And it’s pretty good. The phở is not really authentic, but tasty nonetheless. Their duck is pretty tasty, but I don’t like the napa cabbage that comes with the duck.

Stumbled across this place thanks to Unilocal. It’s like I took a 24hr flight to Asia and landed into a little town of local flavors. There are like 4 different spots to choose/order from but I decided to go with Good Children because I saw PHO on the menu. I went during the noon lunch hr so it was busy and the lady working the counter seemed a bit overwhelmed but she persevered. Ordered me some PHO– the Meat Variety version and took my seat. They call your number when it ready. I felt bad for the guy who had ordered in front of me. Not sure what he ordered but my number was called and after like 10 more minutes I saw him start to get really annoyed/anxious. Not sure what happen but I saw him have a conversation with the lady and then leave pissed off. guess they missed/messed up his order. My experience was good. PHO was flavorful and hit the spot. Also got a Papaya smoothie that I was happy with. I would come back.

This place has the strangest name for a restaurant but they serve decent food at a great price. I’ll admit, I’ve been spoiled by Joy Yee’s drinks but their bubble teas are close to $ 5 now. This place has lunch specials for around $ 6 and you get an egg roll or 2 crab rangoons, steamed or fried rice, a good sized entrée, and a drink. I wish this place was close to where I lived because I would definitely frequent this place much more.

I always go here with the girlfriend to the Good Children café. Pretty wide variety of food and generous servings. I would say it’s more of an authentic version of Joy Yees on some level. Place gets great business especially around lunch time due to the local offices and businesses nearby.

This place is my weekly phở joint. I can’t say enough great things about this place. The lunch menu is amazing. Large selection of items which includes your choice of rice, eggrolls or crab rangoons, AND smoothie. I had their Thai basil fish and it was a party in my mouth. Plenty of fish, flavorful sauce, and just a hint of spiciness with fresh mushroom. All for the price of $ 6.95!!! I love getting a great bargain. The Super Bowl of phở is always a go to when I’m indecisive. Loaded with meat and an abundance of noodles. Broth totally makes the phở. The service here is excellent. The lady in the front is friendly and speaks English unlike the other two stores and the food comes out fast. My only complaint is the smoothie. I’ve been spoiled by Joy Yee’s smoothie and am used to the thick and creamy avocado boba with the perfect chewy boba. Here it’s a bit runny and it’s a hit or miss with the boba. But can’t complaint when it’s included with a $ 6.95 meal.

One of the best non oily pad Thai I’ve had in a while. They have great selection and the lunch special is awesome! App, main entrée and smoothie for under 8 $ with big portion sizes. My new go to place for Thai food.

I’ve been to the Asian food court in the International Mall a number of times, but I hadn’t tried Good Children before. On a tip from one of my trusted food buddies, I gave it a try at lunchtime. For $ 6.25(a buck more at dinner), you get a generously portioned entrée, a choice of eggrolls or crab rangoon(2 in each case) and a drink(tea, soda or fruit smoothie). I opted for the basil beef and asked for it to be extra spicy. It was obviously prepared to order, so don’t assume you will get your food immediately. I’d rather wait a few minutes than eat something that’s been held under a heat lamp. The dish was tasty and as spicy as I’d hoped(both fresh jalapenos and dried red peppers in evidence). My strawberry smoothie was delicious as well. This is a hard-to-beat lunch combo if you’re near Ogden and Route 83.

I ordered a beef chow fun. My friend ordered from a different place at the same time. The lady at the cash register gave me change but no receipt so I went to sit down. I was wondering how they would tell me my food was ready without giving me a number or anything. I heard them start calling numbers. I kept looking over to try to spot my chow fun. I eventually went up there and asked her for it because my friend was already halfway through her meal. She said it wasn’t ready yet. I went back to sit down. By the time my friend was done eating his meal, I went back up and waited there. She clearly saw me but didn’t say anything or try to see the status of my order. Finally, I got my meal. Just for that service alone, I would not order from that place again. As for the beef chow fun… isn’t beef chow fun supposed to have wide rice noodles? These were skinny noodles. They were skinny slimy noodles instead of wide, thick, fat, chewy noodles. There wasn’t much flavor in the sauce either. I will have to try a different place in the food court next time.

This is a hidden gem inside the International Plaza. It is a little tough to know which restaurant to gravitate towards when you enter the plaza, but you really only have a few options. Good Children seemed to call to my friend and I and we loved their prices…$ 7.25 for a dinner special where you choose an entrée(among maybe 10 choices that range from fried rice to veggie dishes to meat noodle dishes); either a bubble tea smoothie, hot tea or a soft drink; either fried rice or white rice; then you pick an appetizer of either crab rangoon or an egg roll. For lunch it’s $ 1 cheaper. And the food is amazing. Cooked fast and fresh so it’s not sitting out. Very little oil, lots of flavor. My parents have a very discerning palate and even they approved when I went for the second time! I ordered the taro bubble tea, chicken basil, steamed rice and crab rangoon. All for $ 7.25 dinner special. To top it off, the workers there are super nice and helpful. It’s a LOT of food served with a smile, and you will be happy, I promise!

There’s 4 chinese restaurants in a row inside this mini shopping center. I usually go to this one — the 2nd one from the left. I saw a review on here for the Basil chicken so I tried it — I’ve never tried it before. I usually get mongolian beef or shrimp in lobster sauce whenever I go for chinese. Wow! So good. They’re always friendly here too. Not a fancy atmosphere, but can’t beat the flavor or price.

When you can’t make it to Chicago’s north side or Chinatown for good Vietnamese food this is a great alternative in the burbs. It’s inside the food court next to several Chinese places. I highly recommend the Super Bowl Phở and all the other phở soups. Their fresh spring roll is also fantastic.

They have some awesome cold appetizers here. Con is you have to pay in cash unless you are buying more than $ 10 worth of food then you can use a credit card. We ordered the Vietnamese noodles, tea leaf eggs, and pig ears in chili oil. They were good. The noodles came in a big bowl that is enough to be shared by two people if you can’t eat much. The smoothies served here are sealed in a plastic cup so it’s good to travel distances if it’s not consumed in the cafeteria. The roasted ducks are not bad either. It’s worth a try!

One of three food vendors in the international mall thus one of the stops for our weekend brunch. I just realized how funny the English name is for this vendor. Who came up with that? Typically we get the beef phở and fruit smoothie from here. Phở noodle soup is pretty good but not good enough to crave about. My 7 year old son always gets his mango smoothie from here after he has finishes his meal when other two vendors provide the same thing. That tells me either the smoothie is better or the service is better. This is also my last stop to pick up some packaged dishes before I leave this food court. My favorite ones are steamed salt water fish and roasted duck among more than a dozen dishes to choose from. Then I don’t need to worry about cooking the dinner after add some kind of salad.

This place is great for lunch. The variety they have is great so you should be able to find something for everyone. Their lunch specials come with fried spring rolls and your choice of drink, including smoothies. My go to lunch special is the Basil Chicken. It’s just spicy enough for me to completely enjoy it. The fried spring rolls aren’t overdone and have a great crunch to them. The only issue I have is the fried rice that comes with it is a bit on the boring side, but for $ 7 for lunch who can complain?

Quick Summary — It’s okay, would come again though. I ordered the Chicken Phở and a Milk Tea bubble tea. The bubble tea was really milky and sweet and the tapioca was over cooked. The Chicken Phở broth had no taste so I guess it’s good that I use tons of sriracha to add more flavor and spice. It’s like Mitsuwa, a bunch of different restaurants to choose from, but a lot less busy and really quiet. I went at lunch time, so you would think it would be busy. I would come back though, there are so many different items to try!

This place offers a wide variety of different dishes — from Vietnamese cuisine to Cantonese cuisine. The food portions are fair and the prices are pretty good. A standard dish will cost you 4.50 — 6.00(depending on selection). Most of the dishes I’ve tried were tasty and maintained the right unique flavoring for the dish(as opposed to some places that cook with nothing but Soy Sauce and all dishes come out tasting the same). My dishes are generally prepared in 5 minutes making it a great place to stop on the way home from work for a quick bite to eat.
