Still loving Valentes! I moved into the neighborhood and can now walk there.

We have gotten some stellar pies here, particularly a raspberry pie in the Spring. We’ve also sprung for some ravioli, which was delicious, albeit pricey. I tend to not mind paying more for local businesses, however. I stopped coming here and give it three stars because I heard that the Valente family has been trying to stop local businesses(that they deem«competition») from moving into the historic Westminster area. This is such a bummer, because our neighborhood has such great potential to be a bustling community with local shops all working together to make great commerce. What a silly, disgusting move. The last thing I want are chain stores and restaurants moving in here. Let the local businesses in, be a pal, and then we will stop telling everyone we know to avoid your shop and we can come enjoy a sandwich once in awhile. Until then, arrivederci.

If this is the most«well-stocked» Italian market in the Denver area, then my heart is dropping from disappointment. I was hoping that this would replace the Italian market I was used to going to in St. Louis — The Hill — for prosciutto, cheeses, olive oil, etc. Instead there was hardly any variety at marked-up prices higher than Whole Foods, and at least twice the price of my usual Italian market.

There are other Italian deli’s in the Denver area, but this one is the best stocked I’ve seen so far. A wide selection of pastas, sauces, condiments. A great selection of meats, but not so much cheese. A fair selection of breads. All in all a great Italian Deli.

I called Valente’s yesterday to order a strawberry rhubarb pie. They took down my information and asked what time I would like to pick up the pie the following day. I popped in this afternoon to pick it up and it was all set and ready to go. The gentleman that assisted me was very pleasant. The pie was very reasonably priced which was nice. The pie was a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday. Strawberry rhubarb is his very favorite. He was very happy with it. He said the crust was awesome and the filling was the perfect strawberry to rhubarb ratio. He said the sweetness to tart ratio was also good. I’m not a fan of pie but I was very pleased with the overall experience and service. I would definitely recommend Valente’s and will be going back for future bakery orders!

What I am about to share with you is a love story. A tale about finding true love and never wanting to let it go. This is the story of how I came to find Valentes! Even Sounds romantic, doesn’t it? YESYOUCAN fall in love with your local deli; ask thousands of New Yorkers! VA-LEN-TE’S — let it roll off your tongue. Just think of it as Valentine’s day for your stomach! :-) Valente’s Deli Is an old school Italian deli, bakery and market with roots that go back 60 years! It’s the kind of place that’s owned and run by a family(Dad, son…) and one where they hand make their own sausage, sauce, pasta, cannoli any number of other OMG Italian goodies that any living person should NOT have to live without. Best cannoli EVER! This small store/deli has many shelves of products including meats, pastas, cheeses and pastry as well as fresh baked bread, canned and boxed goods. They also do catering and food to go… Read my full review of Valente’s here:

So far the service from this Italian Deli and Bakery received 4 stars in my books. My recent visit was on Monday February 9th2015. I came in with my friend after having our Lunch some where near by. Too bad, the meatball contains PORK, so I cannot purchase those… coz initially I want to purchase some Sandwiches for Hubs Dinner that evening. I decide to go for the SWEET Route and purchase, an Éclair($ 1.49), a Key Lime Pie which was on offer at($ 1.19) and a Chocolate Mousse($ 3.59) that afternoon. The total cost of my purchase this afternoon was about $ 6.81 with tax. All in all, I like what I purchased and so does Hubs. Hubs had the Key Lime Pie. Hubs said that the Key Lime Pie is more like«Puff Pastry» kind of Pie, where they put the Key Lime filling in those Puff Pastry. This establishment is in the same vicinity of Carol Lee Donut Shop which I have reviewed earlier. In the establishment itself, they provide, bakery goods, which they baked in house, cans or bottles of condiments, sweet treats, dry pasta made all the way from Italy, aka Italian products. There are also some seating area, near the entrance where you can enjoy your Deli Sandwiches with Drinks etc. My friend opt to purchase some House-Made FROZEN Entrees which are in the one of the Refrigerators. She said once she is done baking, the Pizza and Lasagna she purchased, it was DELICIOUS and she would return to Valente’s Deli and Bakery when needed if she is in the neighborhood. Overall Valente’s Deli and Bakery received 3.5 stars in our books. Valente’s Deli Bakery Italian Market 7250 Meade St, Westminster, CO80030 Tel:(303) 429‑0590 @45/2015

Being from back east I have been missing the good pasta and Italian food. This place has a wide assortment of all back east Italian goodies, pasta, olives, tapenade, homemade sausage, sauce, ravioli the list goes on. The sandwiches are sooo good, prices are good and get this. When you get your food they tell you to go and eat and pay after just like in the old days, I had a basket full of stuff to purchase. They didn’t watch me like a hawk. Yes, there are still people that trust. This place is family owned everyone is friendly. It’s my favorite!

What a unfavorable Italian food ever. I do believe that big Italian chain restaurants are wayyyy Better. had the meatball sandwich and the sausage sandwich. just like I always said mid west American taste buds which is non, salt and pepper is exotic species to mid west flavoring. The beard had no flavor, the meat which looks like it has spices tasted bland. The marinara sauce, try Prego it’s better. I don’t know why this place stays open maybe tradition by the neighborhood but save your money and go to fazzolies.

I traveled 30 miles from Parker wanting to check this place out today because of all the great reviews, and because Italian markets are hard to find in Colorado. I purchased various cold cuts, a quart of sauce, a package of ground pork, some cheeses and some sun-dried tomato paste. When I got home, I realized that the sun-dried tomato paste expired A year ago, in February 2014. Obviously they have been on the shelf way too long and are not selling. The other thing I did not like was that the meat cutting area looked dirty and after my meats were cut on the slicer, the gentleman placed the meat facedown on a dirty counter being used by another employee. No one was wearing gloves. Overall, not so great. Things that are on the shelf and expired for more than a year is just disgusting. Not impressed, a waste of 2 ½ hours of my day making the trip.

I’ve been coming to this place now for 16 years, and never fails, great Italian deli/bakery. The canoli’s are wonderful, I’m fond of the sausage one. Great to get 4+ canoli’s take them home and you have a few days of lunch, easy to reheat. The sandwiches also very delish and very easy to pick up Italian grocery items for making dinners. Great selection. Always appreciate the mom and pop shops and this is one that always pleases.

Cute deli run by lovely, friendly people. I don’t normally like ravioli but I’m intrigued by and determined to try all the ones they have. For example, there are chile relleno ravioli, winter pear and Gorgonzola cheese ravioli, and cave aged Gorgonzola and roasted red pepper ravioli(which we bought today). We’ve been to several Italian delis throughout Denver and the surrounding areas and I think they have the best service here. Even though it’s a bit of a drive for us, we will definitely be back.

What a fun little deli! We decided to have a simple pasta and red sauce supper for Christmas Eve this year and came upon Valente’s while looking for recommendations for a good place for Italian sausage. You MUST visit Valente’s! It’s tucked away a few doors down fom Carol Lee Donuts and was stuffed to the gills with locals picking up fish, prime rib and every kind of deli meat imaginable today. Didn’t feel overcrowded to us, though. Egg nog was being passed around by jovial staff, and folks waiting in line were quick to make small talk, even with those of us not so locals. We came home with two delicious smelling pies, the Italian sausage and meatballs we ordered, a loaf of Parmesan bread, fresh pasta, and imported sauce. The deli is well-stocked with dozens of varieties of imported cheese and salami as well as prosciutto and capicolla. They have homemade ricotta! And desserts galore! Good value and friendly patrons and staff. We’ll be back. I can’t wait for dinner tonight!

I was brought into this deli because I had dropped my wallet outside my workout studio right next store. The owner of the deli had found it and called me up. I decided to try their canolis when I went to pick it up. The employees were just as nice and accommodating. Great specialty store with import Italian goods… and their food was great as well. Great staff, service, and food. They make you feel at home!

I grew up in Old Town Westminster, so this place is in my blood. If you’ve never been here, shame on you. If you’ve been here you know the cannoli is the way to go. Side of sauce and peppers.

Valente’s reminds me of a classic Chicago ethnic grocery store. The family run Valente’s happens to be the Denver area’s oldest Italian deli and market. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The quality of products is excellent, and they carry a lot of specialty Italian cheeses that can be difficult to fine. Pizza bakers, they have the famed 00 flour and a great selection of San Marzano tomatoes. Their Italian sausage and meatballs are authentic and better than what you find in the grocery store. They offer pre made/frozen raviolis, stuffed pastas, etc. which are reasonably priced and also high quality. The sausage cannoli with a side of marina is a nice lunch treat, and be sure to get a chocolate chip cannoli to bring home for dessert.

I am a big fan of Valente’s! I have been going to Valente’s since I was in high school, and we would go on lunch. Valente’s cannolis are a great treat for lunch! They’re the right size, and come in Italian Sausage, Meatball, and Ham & Pepperoni. You can order a side of marinara(I am not sure how much, if anything, it costs). So, the cannoli, combined with a Stewart’s Orange Cream soda, is the perfect summertime lunch!

Westminster is not know for being a culinary destination. No one from Denver or Boulder says«lets drive to Westminster for lunch!». Unless they knew about Valentes. This place is a hidden gem and worth seeking out.(I’ve driven past it for 15 years and never knew it was there.) But know that I do, I’ll be back often. Why? Their authentic Italian meats, sausages and canolis make me think I’m back on the East Coast. Except the folks behind the counter are so much friendlier. Additionally, the have interesting and eclectic selection of Italian groceries, including lovely handcrafted pastas, sauces and antipasti, that I’m inspired to host an Italian dinner party.(I just hope I can get my Denver friends to drive to Westminster.)

While other Italian markets have come and gone or have become less than what they used to be, Valente’s has become better than they were. They stock more kinds of canned and dried goods from Italy then any other place I have found in the D-metro area. That combined with a decent deli selection(a good italian sausage), good baked goods, prepared food and made to order sandwiches and being not too far from home make them a winner in any Italian meal we’re thinking about doing.
