If you are in the mood for a low-key, fancy Vietnamese restaurant, try this place! Plenty of parking in a low-key area. Nice restaurant, but not fancy. Clean, new inferior as well as clean restrooms. Staff was very nice! Also good for large groups. Bo luc lac(Shaken Beef) was really good! Well seasoned and sauced. Comes with rice or fries. Fresh coconut came out in an actual coconut! Fresh! Plenty of cold water, fancy tea, fancy che(bean dessert). Also ordered the frog legs and the seafood pasta? Both were also very good! Overall, good experience. Just seems to be in an odd location, so maybe that’s why it was empty on a Saturday night.

The filet mignon $ 15.00 was tender and juicy; worth the price I was told. The chicken with canned mushrooms was not great. The fish with dill was good and slightly too salty. They skimped on the lettuce and charge extra for two lettuce leaves. We were not waited on many times and couldn’t find anyone to help us. They can work on customer service. Overall, clean place and the food was good. Not vegetarian friendly, one vegetarian curry dish only.

Great service! The lamb chops and filet mignon were both delicious. We also tried their mango and squid salad, banana flambé, and French onion soup — all flavored just right! I especially appreciated that the soup was not overly salty like many other places. The thin-cut French fries were also perfectly crisp and golden. I am a fries-connoisseur so you can trust me on that :).

I stopped by this restaurant to just buy a vietnamese coffee to go today. The male server that looks like a manager or owner told me it’s $ 4.35. I hesitated a little bit cuz it’s obviously overpriced. And the guy told me to just give him $ 4,00. Later I checked out the price on the menu on Unilocal. It was $ 2,95 lol. It’s not a big thing but thank you for ripping me off. Keep doing that shit.

–shaken beef(bo luc lac): so yummy, flavoring is good, beef is soft. The cube beefs come on top of the bed of salads. There’s dressing in the salads and it’s good, not too over powering. Highly recommend getting this dish! –roasted cornish hen: chicken is very crispy on the outside and the meat is moist inside. It comes with the salads too, but the portion of the salads is very little. –tomato rice(red rice) is good. It’s soft and taste just right. Not salty, or too dry like the other restaurants. Would recommend this! — minus 1 star: fried banana is not good, it taste like there’s rubbing alcohol(that they use to keep the flames burning and make the bananas fried) in there. But, overall… I would come back for their shaken beef(bo luc lac). And try other things on the menu.

Delicious from the cornish hen to the bo luc lac and filet mignon. I was pleasantly surprise. I sure hope it wins the restaurant wars. Service was good and the décor is modern. A dinner date would suffice here. I would recommend this place to anyone. Drop by if your hungry. I will be coming back to try more items as their menu have many selections.

In my six years of using Unilocal,I have yet to write a review for a restaurant. This place sucks so hard I have felt the need to come out of my cave and offer my experience as a cautionary tale. I came here around 9pm Saturday night. Upon entering I was immediately assaulted with what I can only describe as a raw ass smell that permeated the entire restaurant emanating from that restroom I assume. Upon sitting, one of my party members informs us about their free drink with an entrée check-in. The staff informed us that the offer was valid for any drink on the menu, including alcohol. A companion ordered a rau ma and I ordered a coconut drink after each presenting our check-in to the waitress and manager. As for the entrée, I went with the duck a l’orange. What I received was anything but. The three morsels of unidentifiable duck leather and bone was sitting in a soup of broth with slices of orange skin. I was reminded by the staff twice not to touch the plate aa it was piping hot and yet my 3 pieces of carrot and 2 pieces of broccoli were cold. To add insult to injury, they charged me $ 4 for my coconut drink. After inquiring as to why I was charged for the drink after redeeming the offer from the check-in, the waitress explained that it’s only one drink per table. BUYERBEWARE: The check-in offer states 1FREEDRINKWITHANYENTREE. How about explicitly stating 1 free drink with any entrée PERTABLE. She nor the manager couldn’t be bothered to inform me of that fact when both my companion and I held up our phones to show them our offer redemption. Congratulations on weaseling out $ 4 with your deception. The one star is for the meaty and delicious coconut. If you want an olfactory beat-down by a sewage stench while you try to choke down a perversion of a classic french dish then go right on ahead and eat here.

Had the Com Bo Luc Lac with red rice — I think it’s fried rice, but I always call it red rice whenever I go to a restaurant since there’s no mistaking what kind of rice I’m asking for. Some places, red rice is tomato sauce rice(because they cook it that way for the color/taste) — while other places, red rice is fried rice. Anyway… I was trying to debate between this and Song Long — but opted for Saigon Bistro since I used to go here a lot with family back in the day when they occupied the space in the strip mall adjacent to the space they are currently in now. Ordered togo. The food was ready when I pulled up — which was great. Owner was friendly and welcoming — food was nice and hot by the time I got home. I like how they packed the rice and entrée in two separate containers, rather than just in one togo box like Song Long does — which has a risk of the meat sauce draining over into the rice partition and making it soggy. The meat was flavorful, tender and juicy. It was appropriately seasoned — not too much, not too little. There was a good helping of meat cubes over a bed of lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Dressing was just right. Rice was perfectly steamed and fluffy. I was in a hurry so had to order my CBLL togo, but I think when I have more time, I’ll stop in for an actual sitdown experience and check out their other entrees. Parking is ample, it shares a lot with a bunch of other businesses that are usually closed by 5 or 6pm, so if you go in the evening, you only have to share the lot with the crab place.

Love this place!!! It’s a cute little Vietnamese bistro joint, service is great, people are very nice there. I always use their fried rice and egg rolls. Their egg rolls are just about the closest to actual authentic real Vietnam Vietnamese egg rolls. Their rice dish is quite savory as well. If you’re ever looking for a quaint Vietnamese joint, this bistro place is it!!!

came here because my friend went last week and he said the lamb was pretty good. i don’t think lamb at an asian place is worth $ 17 because i can just go to khoi hung and their lamb is really good for only $ 11. so i ordered the sirloin steak. it came with a side salad and your choice of fries or rice. i got fries. the steak had a nice texture but very plain. i wish they seasoned the steak a bit more my friend ordered the bun thit nuong. i actually really liked this. the meat was good.

Got a Flyer in the mail this morning, advertising Saigon Bistro in Westminster with a 5 dollar coupon attached to it that attracted my attention! We Decided to give this bistro a try for dinner tonight! As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by some old pictures of Saigon which i really liked since i have been to Saigon several times before the building boom! The Interior Design is modern yet it has a cozy feel with more feel good images on the wall Service was prompt and courteous! We ordered the Lobster bisque soup! the Bo luc lac(diced beef) and Bun cha hanoi ! Something was amiss with the Lobster Bisque! The soup was watery and had just a few hard pieces of old tasteless hard lobster pieces added to it!! All i tasted was the heavy cream! The soup was done in a very amateurish Vietnamese style! i tried to add some pepper to the soup but the pepper mill did not work properly and only dispensed big pieces of pepper and not the nice smooth powder needed for the extra flavor Enhancement of Food! Please change or adjust your Pepper mills NOW! My vietnamese wife ate one spoon of the soup and then shoved it over to my side meaning she was done with it! I did not like the soup and decided not to finish the soup and we left it behind! i will give this dish a 2 rating! Our 2nd dish was the Bo Luc Lac cooked medium with red rice(shaken beef) the dish tasted really good and was cooked to my order perfectly with lots of smothered onions and a few tomato slides and was presented very nice on a bed of lettuce soaked in german maggi The beef was cooked medium as requested and most pieces were tender to the bite, but i did find a few a few pieces that must have come from a buffalo because i had a hard time chewing it! overall it was a good dish and i will rate it a 4! our 3d dish was the Bun Cha Hanoi which was supposed to be grilled but i could not dedect a bbq grilled flavor taste! This dish rates a 3 in my book! The owner did not seem overly friendly and was looking over my shoulder as i was signing the sales slip adding the tip! this just left me very uncomfortable and thought is very tactless1 VIETNAMESENEEDTOLEARNABOUTAMERICANCUSTOMERSERVICE! AFTER35YEARSINTHISCOUNTRYVIETNAMESESHOULDBEABLETOPLEASEAMERICANCUSTOMERS! will i ever go to this place again? THEANSWERIS A BIGNO!

Came here because my friend got a mailer with a coupon, and we wanted French Onion Soup. Good job with the advertising! Place is cute with their colorful cups. We ordered: –Bo Luc Lac — I really liked this dish. The meat was tender and sweet. –Curry — Curry wasn’t that good. It was a little watery(which is how Vietnamese Curry is usually made, but this lacked flavor). –French Onion Soup — Not the best I’ve had, but it wasn’t bad for a Vietnamese restaurant. I’d go back for the Bo Luc Lac for sure. I also liked their Vietnamese Iced Coffee!

Hmm… We received a flier for this restaurant mailed home and thought we’d give it a try. But, 2 stars means I’m definitely not coming back. Here’s why: //Our order: — Bun Ha Noi — Bun mam(?) — Sirloin steak — Filet mignon //Pro: ++. Seated promptly by the hostess because fortunately there were plenty of space when we came in for lunch at 1pm on a Saturday. ++. Freshly toasted baguette breads with garlic butter were delicious ++. Ambiance was almost like an outdoors feel with the furniture and lighting. Very quaint. ++. Filet was done very well at medium rare! And the Saigon Bistro sauce on the Sirloin was delicious. //Con: — The entrees were served separately. There was a serious lag time between all 4 orders and so we all ate and finished at different times. — Serving sizes were pretty small??? Fries on the steak orders were super sparse and made the plate look very bare. The noodles orders were just a handful of noodles in a small bowl. — The filet was brought to me already CUT in HALF! That seems rude because it looks like they weren’t sure of the temperature and cut into my steak to check. — Service was pretty apathetic. They only answered questions about the menu when asked and offered no specials or tips on what to order. Lastly, they charged us $ 1.50 for the bread and butter. Wth!?? Our bill came out to be $ 56 for 4 at lunch. I would’ve much rather spent my money elsewhere than a non-filling lunch with minimal service and mediocre food. Disappointed.

Came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday the other weekend and I felt feeling ambivalent about the whole dining experience. They do provide a garlic butter to eat with their French baguette– that was a nice touch. My family and I shared the escargot appetizer. It was nice, buttery, and topped with bread crumbs. The escargot had the right amount of chew to them. Good start to our meal. My family and I ordered a variety of things from the menu. Notably, we all had bites of the rack of lamb which was too gamey for my palette. I ordered the sirloin steak Saigon Bistro style with a side of fries. For 13.95, you get what you pay for. The steak was alright. Some parts of the steak were too sinewy and bland. It is a new establishment so I can imagine they have some kinks to work through. I would come back in a few months to revisit the menu. Overall, Saigon Bistro is an okay option for Vietnamese-French cuisine.

New Viet-French Bistro! This is a brand new bistro that has been open for less than a month. No need to drive to LA and pay bags of cash for a French meal with fresh bread. You can do it hear for about $ 11 a plate with a unique Vietnamese flare! ~Fresh Baguettes and Special Butter Made in House-5 Stars! The baguettes are fresh and warm. This bread has a flakey outside which leads to a very soft and warm inside that simply is mouth watering. ~Civet De Lievre/Tho Nautilus Ruou(rabbit with wine)-4.5 Stars! I love rabbit! I grew up eating it and it becomes more and more difficult to find. This meat tends to be a bit dry an a tad more tough than chicken. Here, they marinade it with a wine marinade. The rabbit is pretty tender and absorbs flavor from the marinade. That being said, a fork full of rabbit with the hot baguette drenched in the sauce was so good! Bo luc lac(shaken steak)-2.5 Stars. This was my least favorite dish. They use top sirloin. The meat is ok, however I was not fond of the dressing/seasoning they use on the salad/vegetables. I also prefer filet mignon, but they do serve this in a different dish. This is just my preference. ~French style Ragout Chicken-3.5 Stars! This is pretty much how grandma used to make it. This is a tomato based stew type dish with four pieces of very tender chicken. The dish includes some vegetables such as peas and carrots and goes well with their fresh hot baguette! ~Banana Flambé 4 Stars! Wow. For $ 4, two large bananas come out flaming! Super sweet, these bananas become caramelized on their outer portion wit a crisp light crunch. Coupled with the soft middle portion, the texture completes the overall experience of a delightfully sweet desert. Ask for ice cream to go with this and you are sure to have a five star experience! ~Interior/Ambiance-4 Stars! Very colorful open and bright. It has a modern fresh feel and comfy and homey vibe. Colorful glasses, bright red chopsticks and utensils with«bling» accent the art and walls resulting unique in a very unique experience. I got to meet and talk with the owner. Sandy is very nice and receptive of feedback. She opened only a few weeks ago! Any questions. ask for Sandy. Being so new, I have high expectations once she gets over all the bumps that are typical of a new business. Yes, they take credit cards, bathroom is large and nice and the parking lot is spacious and newly paved with a ton of parking. Parking is easy! Saigon Bistro, «Bolsa»…another reason the OC is the best place to live!
