I just bought a banh mi. I do not get the hype at all and the high ratings. As soon as I got home and ate the sandwhich, I was so dissapointed. I ordered the Banh Mi Cha Lua. There was really nothing special about it at all. I ate half and put it away. The bread was like eating a baguette from walmart. That’s simply it.

ZEROSTARSIF I COULD! First and foremost the guy in front taking orders either 1) take some classes on customer service and greeting people without an attitude and a resting face as if he’s too cool to work here or 2) LEAVE&DONTWORKHERE! We ordered Lynda special and Bun Bo hue. All I can say is I’m Vietnamese & this place is not up to standard how Vietnamese cuisine and baguettes should be made and prepared. Save your money and go down Bolsa much better places for cheaper price.

Must try when in town for Bánh Mi sandwiches, and other special dishes: phở, bo kho beef stew, and bun Bo hue.

Lyndas sandwiches has been my go to banh MI place since my girlfriend introduced me to this little Shop two months ago. I frequent here at least twice a week. Their banh MI has been consistently good. I always get the banh MI thit nuong. Highly recommend. Orders can take about 5 – 10 mins so I tend To phone in my order then drop by on the way to work. Everyone has been very nice and parking is always easy to find.

The salmon and rice is so delicious it’s the only entrée I have ordered here. Every time I come here I want it. Yes, it’s that good. As for sweets I have tried their beignets and Macarons. Both are wonderful! Macarons are flavorful and fresh and the beignets are so addicting and puffy! Bonus, their location is right off the freeway… convenient. Love this spot!

My first time trying this place out. Was referred by a friend. Their Vietnamese sandwich was good, atmosphere was cute. I also tried their beef/steak dish with rice… that was delicious!!!

I ordered the special sandwich and a bun bo hue, the sandwich was average, nothing spectacular. The sandwich had way too much mayo. The Bun Bo Hue was too fatty, they did not skim the fat and it tasted very bland. The soup did not have the lemongrass and chili aroma. The owner was very nice and attentive. Oh and the coffee tastes like you’re drinking gasoline. However, the guy that took my order had a condensing attitude and very off putting face. He acted like I’m not cool enough to be there to eat the food.

I am surprised with the difference these sandwiches are. Having only tried Lee’s sandwiches prior, I am left with a longing for more crunch. I got two sandwiches from Lynda Sandwich. The bbq pork was slightly better than the grilled pork. They both had the same ingredients except the pork. Even though the texture of the grilled pork more delicate, the bbq pork had a more sweeter bolder flavor. There also was more vegetables than in used to, which was pleasant. I just really wanted more crunch in the baguette. It resembled a chibatta roll more than a French roll. I might have to give it another try soon and hope for a more fresher roll unless they are normally like that. If so, I might not go there again. For the sandwiches at lease. This is personal preference. If you like a softer roll, I would imagine you will like it :)

Better than a lot of other places we’ve been to but I would not say this is the best banh mi. Top baguette or tasty sandwich are my top 2. Lynda’s banh mi has a really good bread to filling ratio and their sauce is really good. I felt like the size was too small for the price and I didn’t see an option to add a fried egg. The bun bo hue was really good. Lots of meat with a flavorful broth. The broth could be hotter and the bouquet of mint is too much for me not to get it on the side. I prefer my greenery separate so I can tear them into smaller pieces, allowing more pieces for each bite. OCD… Yeah, maybe a bit. $ 12 for a sandwich and a bowl of noodles… Can’t complain at all. I’d come back to try their other stuff — the combo plate looked good! Probably wouldn’t come back for a sandwich

I have been here before and thought the banh mi here was only average at best, but on my recent visit that changed my mind about this place. I decided to order something different this time and I am glad I did because it was very yummy. Definitely order the grilled pork banh mi or cha tom banh mi. We also got the beignets which came out bite sized, hot, and covered in powdered sugar.

Located outside of the heart of Little Saigon, and not looking like your typical Vietnamese deli, I was surprised to stumble across this banh mi place, which has become my favorite. I’ve been here several times and the quality of the sandwiches has been consistently good. The bread and vegetables always seem fresh, the meats are better quality than many other places(I usually get shredded chicken or grilled pork), and that mayonaise spread is like crack. NPR did a fun interview with Lynda the owner about her story and that spread. Sometimes service can be a little slow, but nothing horrible. I’ll often order an extra(or two) for later since I don’t live nearby and don’t get here often. They’re always happy to bag up the pickled vegetables on the side.

Love the sandwiches, love the atmosphere. I always order to go, a very large order, and they get it right all the times. Fast, friendly, efficient, reasonable price, good food… what else could one ask for?

So being a pescatarian for a few days(40 days or whatever for Lent) leaves me with less options. And yet, lo and behold, LYNDASANDWICH has come to my rescue! After being introduced to this by a friend, I discovered that they make a bomb Banh Mi Chay(Vegetarian Sandwich). Every component tastes amazing — from the bread, to the pickles, and the fake pork or whatever! I love it! I’ve tried other places’ Chay and Lynda is one of the best! SO enjoyed his Banh Mi Dac Biet — said the meat was really good quality compared to other places we’ve visited. I think the only downside is that the banh mi is a little bit less than the average size sold at other bakeries, cafes, etc. Yet at Lynda you’re paying for quality, not quantity.

Decent banh mi joint with your standard options, nothing too spectacular. Price is decent, about $ 3.50 a sandwich. Got some macaroons for the kids, those were stale and not good. Wish I could say more, but mediocrity gave me a case of writers block. The search goes on for the one true banh mi joint…

Service here is extremely bad! 6 customers total in the store which are already eating and my order of 1 ice coffee takes 15 minutes. There are 5 workers on the floor WTH! 5 minutes standing infront of cash register(I am the only one stand there) for someone to come and ask what I want to order. Unless you have 30 minutes to stand around and wait for a simple drink, AVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOST! –Vietnamese coffee here does not taste good either, very bland and watery.

Environment is very chic and young. Good for a hang out or date. That being said… I had two or their dishes: Banh mi dat biet(Lynda special): the bread is super tinh and crispy. Little skimpy on the meat but made up with their housemade butter spread. 3.5 Bun bo hue: there is favor to the dish but nothing exciting enough for me to order again. 3

I know the prices here are a bit pricey, but everything that I have tried are really good. The seating area is a bit small. I usually have their combo plates and xu Mai. The xu Mai is so tender and flavor full, I say you try it. Today was the first time I tired their chicken ragu(not sure if I spelled it right) but it was really good too.

Lynda Sandwich puts together a righteous Bahn Mi! I have been waiting years to try Lynda Sandwich and finally(thanks to work) an opportunity to give their heralded sandwiches the Pepsi challenge. This Little Saigon staple is owned by Lynda Trang Dai(purportedly the Vietnamese equivalent of Madonna) who has been making her style at the venerable Banh Mi for a few years now and hangs her hat on the fact that all the bread and fillings are housemade daily. Each sandwich at Lynda’s comes in a crusty baguette with pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, green onion, cucumber, fresh green chilies, and a generous dose of an ultra potent garlic mayonnaise that pulls all of the ingredients together regardless of the protein you choose. At a colleague’s direction I chose to go with the Egg & Chinese Sausage Bahn Mi. The eggs are warm and fluffy, and the Chinese sausage is sweet, savory, and chewy. With some Sriracha sauce drizzled on top, this is my idea of a heavenly breakfast Banh Mi. The flavor profile is far more complex than the short ingredient list and at $ 3.95 you cannot beat the value. I was very happy to finally have the Lynda Sandwich notch in my Banh Mi belt and cannot wait to return soon to sample other sandwich options.

Ordered Salmon and rice to-go $ 10.26 (Com Ca Salmon) I placed a phone order during lunch time, around 1:05pm. The gentleman that took my order said it would take 15 minutes, but ended up taking about 20ish minutes, no biggy, I didn’t mind the wait, but a heads up if you’re in a rush. The salmon came with seasoned rice, a small picked salad, & sauce on the side. The salmon wasn’t that big in size, and the flavor wasn’t overwhelming or mouth watering delicious, it was just okay to my liking. The salmon had fried garlic on it, and was lightly seasoned. The garlic flavor still lingers on my tongue this very moment, even after an hour of my meal so be aware. The rice was seasoned but seemed light as well and a little on the dry side. I wish the meal had a little more moisture to every aspect of the meal, it would’ve been a lot better I think. The older gentleman who helped me was very nice and pleasant.

See my previous reviews. Food is still good — my favorites being the Bun Bo Hue noodle soup and their Banh Mi Trung with Chinese Sausage. I docked them off two stars because of their customer service(or lack of it). On more than one occasion while waiting in line and even when I’m in front of the cashier, if the phone goes off, he’ll take the call in front of me or another customer. I can understand that you are able to phone in your order — I do that often too — however, from the years of working with the public, my understand was that you always help the customer INFRONTOFYOU — not the one that’s calling in. If its just as important for the restaurant to take in phone orders, then they need more staff. This has happened more than once — most jarringly this morning when the clerk took two back to back phone calls while I was paying for my pickup order. There was already a line of people behind me too. I think Lynda Sandwich, with their great selection and great food has a loyal following(me being one of them) — so that’s probably why they feel they can cut back on customer service, but stuff like that doesn’t generally last. The food definitely helps, but if I had to choose between this place and another restaurant that offered a delicious version of the BBH dish AND that had great customer service, I’d start frequenting the competition. That’s the difference. Your customers will only put up with so much before they leave.
