My favorite sugar cane drink and bulat place. The sugar cane drink is $ 5 for a large. I wish that they would offer an extra large cup option. It’s too good and I always want more.

The sugar cane is freshly juiced while you wait. The $ 3 for a small, $ 4 for medium and $ 5 for a large. They add kumquat towards the end to balance the sweetness. You need to taste it before you leave to see if more kumquat is needed. They’ll adjust it for you.

What a great combination, a juice counter and a egg vendor. Makes perfect sense right? Well I only tried the nuoc mia, sugarcane juice. It was great. Its a little different than we are used to making at home since they add a little bit of kumquat juice to it. It gives a little orangey citrus flavor to the juice. No non-sense place, the ladies don’t chit chat or smile.

NASTYASSDUCKFETUSEGGSWTF!!! Damn right, I came for the hot vit lon(fertilized duck eggs) which sold for $ 1.50 a piece. A bit pricey, but not too bad. I bought 10 as I was sharing this with family and friends — one of which had never eaten hot vit lon before. The lady even gave us a nice bundle of fresh rau ram(coriander). We boiled the eggs for about 20 minutes and ate them with salt, pepper, and rau ram. COTDAMNTHEYWEREHELLAGOOD! I asked for young ducks and these were big enough to provide that meaty, brothy taste but not too developed that they had beaks or bones to provide an unpleasant crunch. PTL They were perfect. I wanted to try their nuoc mia, which they seem to be famous for, but decided to get it during my next visit… which I hope will be soon. As my friend said, «Troi oi! Ngon thay ba!» Which translates into«Ohhh mah gawt! Tastes so good I see yo granny!» This is NOT a thing, in case you’re wondering.

My mom bought 30 baluts for her workplace(they are all vietnamese). This place has a better balut than other place that I had tried! It makes me remember my home country!!! I would go back here and buy it again

The fresh pressed raw sugarcane juice(Nuoc Mia) the best here. They also add green unripe kumquats to compliment the flavor of the juice. It’s delicious, nutritious and alkalizing. It has unexpected health benefits — loaded with calcium, chromium, cobalt, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium and zinc. It also contains iron and vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, and B6, along with a high concentration of antioxidants. Whaaa?! Too cool! It has a low Glycemic Index = a steady release of energy without crashing! It promotes healthy skin, hair and nails + tastes amazing! Mmmmmmm I need to find me a cane press! For now we will be frequenting Hot Vit Lon Long An! They currently charge $ 5 for a large which is the best price around. Fancy juice shops in Costa Mesa and Newport will charge you much more for a lot less.

Do you like to eat BALUT(chicken/duck egg embryo’s) or dare try it!!! This is definitely the place to go to get those scrumptious balut eggs. They have all different sized baluts. If you’re a novice to this experience, I would recommend either the chicken balut eggs, they are the smallest of the bunch, or the youngest of the duck baluts which have the most flavor. And for those eating it all your life, you know you want them 25 day old duck eggs, big & plump. Also a plus, included with your balut purchase, ask for the leafy greens you eat with these delicacies. My family has been coming here for more than 10 years and ONLY come here to get our balut eggs since our move to Southern California. I live in San Diego, and hour & a half drive, so when we’re in the area, we ALWAYS stop by and get balut for dinner! Be warned though, like many asian places, customer service is not stellar. Not all the asian ladies speak enough English so bring along a Vietnamese friend or hope there is a lady that understands enough. But don’t fret, if you don’t like balut, they also sell regular organic chicken eggs(great priced), sweet sugar cane drinks with cumquat(nuoc mia), and gallons of water/water fills. Love this place!

This is the place my family and I go to for the hot vit lon(duck balut) and sugarcane drinks! We went on a Monday after Christmas and I guess a lot of people are buying the balut for family gatherings or something because they were sold out around 2PM. We had to settle for hot ga lon(chicken balut) instead. The chicken baluts are a little cheaper(10 for $ 7.50) compared to the duck baluts(I think they were $ 1.50 each? not quite sure). They charge 50 cents for a bunch of minty leaves that you eat with the eggs. Another favorite of mine is the sugarcane drinks they make on the spot. They have this machine that grinds the sugarcanes and there is no sugar added but the juice is so sweet and delicious. The«secret» weapon they add is kumquat in the drinks so it has a little minty, tangy after taste. Very refreshing to drink on a hot summer day. They sell different size cups ranging from $ 3 – 5. I usually get the $ 5 and share it with another person. This place is located in the same plaza as ABC supermarket and the parking lot can be really packed and filled with people so drive around here carefully!

This review is for the lady selling the eggs only. BEWARE because this WITCH has no customer service skills and her rudeness will ruin your day. I went there to get 5 cartons of quail eggs and while i was looking to see which containers I wanted to get, she snapped at me and said, «No need to choose, they’re all the same!» She continued to speak to me in a very rude manner as I paid. Do I not have a right to pick and choose which containers I want to buy? What a ridiculous BIAAACH… To top it off, when I got home, 3 of the eggs were cracked… I can’t stand rude people … totally ruined my day. This happened a week ago and I’m angry as you can tell. haha OH, plus the last two times I was craving their duck eggs, I drove all the way there to find NODUCKEGGS. Not once but TWICE, this happened… Man i gotta find myself a better egg place…

This review is for this location: 15075 Weststate St, Westminster, CA92683. I love balut and only gets them from hot vit long an. I’ve been its customer for over 10 years, but today was not a good day. The price went up from $ 24 to $ 29 for 20 eggs, which I didn’t mind because it seems like everything else went up these days. The store clearly had a visa/MasterCard sign, but the man demanded cash only and said it’s the beginning of the month and he has to pay his employees. I’ve been here and paid with a credit card before with no problem about two months ago, as long as the old man with the hat isn’t working. This is false advertisement to me, bad business. Sad to say, last time here for me and now I have a find a new place for my spontaneous craving. I’m gonna give this location by the ABC market a try.

I had trouble with other places contaminating their sugarcane juicing machines with kumquats and this place very kindly rinsed out their machine to deliver pure sugarcane into my cup without the citrusy distraction. They’re inconsistent tho, depending on who’s helping you. Some are lazyasses n couldn’t give half a shit. Soooo… good luck.

Short review because all this place sells is Nuoc Mia which is sugar cane juice, a famous Vietnamese drink, ice coffee, and Hot Vit Lon(fetal duck eggs) which I am so not a fan of. But that is what Vietnamese people love to eat. Many of my friends eat it and I think it is so not appetizing at all to eat baby duck fetuses but whatever floats their boat. It’s part of their culture to eat that kind of food. My culture eats raw fish, raw eggs, raw beef, fish eggs, eel, the list can go on so I’m not even gonna continue to go there. I wouldn’t exactly come here for sugar cane juice as my first choice. There’s a famous place on Brookhurst to get Nuoc Mia but because Van’s bakery was next door, I decided to get me some juice since I didn’t have it for a while. It’s made fresh in front of you, takes 1 – 2 minutes and I believe there are three sizes: small $ 3, medium $ 4, and large is $ 5. I always get me a large because they serve it in a foam cup which keeps the drink cold for a good amount of hours, especially with the ice in it, so I can sip on it here and there. Love it! By the way, if you do eat those balut eggs or whatever, this place is known to have one of the best of those kinds of eggs. So if you do stop by for some eggs, make sure to grab a cup of Nuoc Mia on your way out. :)

2 Bucks each for cooked Duck Balut(hot vit lon). We ordered a dozen and it came with three containers of salt and pepper and herbs. They keep the duck balut in a rice cooker to stay hot. If you want them uncooked… you can bring them home for only 1.25 each. They have uncooked chicken balut too… but why eat the small ones?! For some reason they don’t serve cooked chicken balut. Someone please try the Goose Balut… they’re a whooping $ 25 each!!!

I finally tried the balut(hot vit lon)! Someone I least expected to try it with me tried it with me: a vegetarian. His reasoning: «they’re eggs, and I’m not a vegan». Well played. He still couldn’t choke it down though. I could. Would I eat it again? Sure, if someone put it in front of me. But the gross factor to tasty factor ratio is too high for me to buy it again. The fetus is like… paste, which surprised even my iron stomach. And most of it is bones and feathers. I’m not made queasy by the idea of baby duck, but I was a little bit by the texture it turned out to be.
However, I did find the heart and it was delicious, like liver paté. Actually, what I mostly did is drag pieces of yolk through the embryo remains to get that paté flavor without having to feel feathers on my tongue. I’m sorry, but… feathers. I got the uncooked version and cooked it at home myself. The guys behind the counter asked me about a hundred times if I was sure I wanted what I was ordering. If I get some again, I may get the pre-cooked, hot kind, just to see if I cooked it right(25 minutes boiling, for the curious).

I LOVEEATINGFERTILIZEDDUCKEMBRYOS. 1. Buy a case fertilized eggs from Hot Vit Long An 2. Warm it up at home in a large pot filled with water. 3. Put egg on a shot glass. 4. Crack the large end of the egg with a spoon. 5. Sip out the juice(YUM) 6. Eat with salt, pepper, lemon, and herbs. The eggs here are pretty big and cheap. They are almost always at the perfect stage of development to be eaten(sometimes you’ll get a few feathers here in there but its not as bad as the ones people to serve you in Vietnam. The hot vit lon I tried in vietnam looked like a fully grown duck embryo — my aunt told me, «DONTLOOKANDJUSTEATIT!»). Nuoc Mia(sugar cane juice) is delicious too but kind of expensive at around $ 4 for a regular sized cup.

I like to eat young duck fetuses! MOOOHAHAHAHA. no, seriously. I came in earlier today and bought a whole case of them. yep, all 20 eggs for $ 22(cash without tax). I did not know until later that you can ask for them still very young, medium, or older. The guy ended up handing me the older ones with some leaves that you eat them with. I went home, boiled them, and time to eat. They were a little too old for my taste. The yellow part was too hard. The chick inside already developed bones and I kept having to spit them out. Kinda disappointed. Because I did not know, I did not order them how I liked. Better luck next time… This place has freshly made sugar cane. There is no dine in area to eat. It’s mostly to take out only. The location of the store is located in the ABC supermarket plaza. It’s kinda hard to see but located next to a popular sandwich shop.

My mum knows the best of the best Viet places in OC. The old school ones, the new and upcoming, and all the obscure ones that are off the beaten path. NUOCMIA [sugar cane] I haven’t been here in ages, but on my recent trip to visit mum, she made it a point to tell me that the #1 nuoc mia place is no longer Nuoc Mia Vien Tay… but at Hot Vit Lon Long An. The perfect blend of sugar cane and kumquat. HOTVITLON [fetal duck egg] I grew up eating Hot Vit Lon at home, and the supply comes from this place. It’s been here forever, but I never actually frequented the store until I could drive. Note: The key to Hot Vit Lon is how old the egg is. 19 – 21 days is the ideal. You don’t want just an egg yolk, and you don’t want a full fledged duck. You want a soft yolk with the beginnings of a duck fetus. When we order hot vit lon, we always ask for the eggs that are 19 – 21 days old, and it is always perfection. Add thai basil, salt lemon pepper, and a spoon… dear god, it’s so great to be born viet.

Nuoc Mia and Balut! My favorite Christmas Dinner. Ahh, nothing beats formed duck fetus and Sugar Cane on a Friday night. especially a Christmas Friday Night. I love sugar cane and I have a friend who loves sugar cane. One of the sweetest juices around. Natural and Organic is the best. Best Nuoc Mia is at Vien Tay, a short drive away on Brookhurst. I actually came here for the sugar cane. This place was packed. Everyone was buying eggs and balut or the Nuoc Mia. The Nuoc mia was actually pretty tasty. I would rank it 2nd to Nuoc Mia Vien Tay. Vien Dong would be last on my list. This drink will cost you about 4 bucks for a large. which is not very large. They do have a small and a medium. If you buy 3, then they will give you the 4th. for free. So, grab 4 bucks, a straw and start sucking. Nothing beats this drink, especially on a hot day. Only in the OC. Nice to know there is another place close by. The Best Sugar Cane is right here in the OC. Another reason the OC is the best place to love.
