Went by there yesterday. Store is empty and building is for lease. A1 is closed for good. :(

A-1 has been around since the beginning of BMX and their experience shows in the quality of work they do. Treika is a wealth of knowledge and can dial in any bike from old school to current.

Got a couple of bikes from this place when I was younger, most bikes now range from 300 $ to 2,000 $. I recently came back to this place to price a bike for my daughter for Christmas, but the prices are outrageous, plus I searched for other places I found this place to be over priced. they have changed employees, it was an older gentle man who gave me bargains for bike chains, tires and racing accessories. Times have changed from then till now.

It is not fancy. It does not try and be anything it isn’t but, A-1 is a legendary BMX bike shop that has literally been around since BMX was born. There is no place more knowledgeable, nicer or accommodating. That said, they are a small family run shop that doesn’t stock everything imaginable. They do know what is best and can give you excellent advice. Anything they don’t have in stock is a phone call away as they can call most of the BMX companies directly and even have somebody drop your part off at the shop. Seriously.

Once went here to get a headset installed and the guy put on the wrong one(more expensive one). After correcting him I found out he cross-threaded my stem pinch bolt. Pretty disappointed for being a repeat customer.
