I recently turned 21, so my boyfriend and I were looking for a good bar to visit in the Westland area and ended up deciding on Ashley’s. I didn’t expect much to be honest, because it seems like most other bars in the area are just okay. But Ashley’s was great! They had such a great selection of beers on tap; lots of IPA’s to choose from which is always a good start! I ordered Stone Brewery’s Ruination because it is one of my absolute favorites, and I was more than happy. I also ordered a Create Your Own Burger with bacon, sauteed peppers, and fried onion straws. It was one of the best burgers I have had since moving to the area! Those fried onion straws… oh my gosh. And the bacon… even more oh my gosh! This will definitely be the place I go to whenever I am craving a delicious burger. Most definitely a five star burger. We also happened to be there for Trivia night. The other teams TOTALLY kicked our asses, but the questions were great and it was still a lot of fun! Apparently on June 30th they will be doing Game of Thrones trivia and my boyfriend and I were totally stoked about that. We will definitely be there for that! My only complaint is that our service was kind of slow towards the beginning. We got to the restaurant at around 7:30 on a Saturday night, so I wasn’t really expecting instantaneous service since that’s a busy time for most restaurants. It took about ten minutes for our server to come over once we got to our table, and then once we ordered our food and drinks it took about ten minutes more before he brought our drinks over. I don’t blame the server at all; he had a lot of tables to help and was obviously doing his best. Having worked in a restaurant before, I know how hard it can be! But as a customer who likes good beer, I do enjoy having my drinks pretty quickly after ordering them. Having to wait ten minutes after each drink order definitely made me a little bit less happy with the experience, but again I do understand that these things happen. As long as it’s not a reoccurring experience I will happily frequent Ashley’s in the future! Thank you Ashley’s for being one of the coolest bars in the area and for making me oh so happy to finally be 21! :)

We come to this place for the beer it’s awesome. They have a great variety of rotating taps and some hard to find beers. I go here from time to time mostly for the beer but we had dinner here this time. I think they were a little short handed it was Cinco De Mayo and the service was a little slow, however it wasn’t excessive. The Philly cheese steak was alright the cheese wiz on it was not very tasty. I like the fact that you can build your own burger they have a good variety of toppings. Their black bean burger is good and filling. Bathrooms are OK that’s all ok, after a few beers you get acquainted with them. I’ll be going back they the best craft beer bar in Westland. They also have trivia on Tuesday at 7 and Saturday at 9, a good look.

Being that I no longer live in Ann Arbor it’s nice that an Ashley’s is still not to far away! Excellent selection of craft beers are always available. My girlfriend and I enjoy stopping in for a good beer and splitting an order of the bacon cheddar fries, which definitely comes with enough for two! The couple of times that we have been to this particular Ashley’s the service was a little slow. Not to bad to be a problem but just enough to be noticed. However, we were the only ones sitting outside so that might have had something to do with it.

Im in between on this one. but Im deciding on a 4 because of the efforts. I visited a few days ago, right before the big dinner rush. We were seated right away & our server was new, second day on the job. I was impressed with their menu & even more impressed with their beer selection! Wow! But when I ordered.(A vegi burger) the waitress was not entirely sure if it was dairy free.(i have a dairy allergy) .which is cool. Its her second day! Now I know most brands do not have dairy. But its better to be safe than sorry. Id rather her go check, ya know. Okay so heres where Im in between stars. She went to check & they had thrown away the box that had the ingredients./: So not only do I not know if there is dairy or not… but other people whom may want to count their choleric intake or carbs or any other nutritional facts cannot do so./: Kind of a poor practice if you ask me. Also on the box there may be an expiration date to take note of. Oh trust me I get it freezers are only so big. It’s better to condense to fit more things inside, it gives more space. But the nutritional facts should have been posted somewhere else maybe on the wall or in a employee type folder? I guess not even the manager knew if the burgers contained dairy or not… Just an idea maybe a photocopy can be taken or something so people with allergies or people on diets can read the ingredients & nutritional facts Anyways so I ended up ordering a salad which was fine everything was good & everything worked out. I hope when I visit again(if I visit again) they will have the information for their food! I do want to try all of the beers tho. Its the biggest selection Ive seen.

Every time I come here I say its my last time. Then I go again, large beer selection, but not too beer. And the food is terrible, the cheese is like liquid cheese from a gas station. They servers were cleaning and had stated that he felt bad for having to do it around people eating, management should’ve planned that out better, if the servers are leaving and have to clean their section. Seat customers else where

I love Ashley’s for the beer but not the food. It’s one of our favorite places to go due to the large Michigan draft selection. Most of the food is very average and overpriced. Pizza is the best of the menu.:and not a bad price. Also it never seems to be «that» busy here.

Enjoying the Belgium Beer Festival under the expert guidance of our server Daniel. He knows his beer! Good food and wonderful venue. Thanks Daniel for enhancing our experience!

Always a great time when I visit the original location or this one. I love the rotating beer tap selection. I’ve never sat in the restaurant section, always the bar area. Food is decent, pizza amazing. The bar backs are friendly and know the product very very well.

If you are looking for a sports bar and craft beer atmosphere, this place is for you! My husband and stepson love to try different craft beers whenever we come for dinner(son is of legal age). They love the BBQ ribs while I really enjoy the burgers. We just tried the chili for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it — chunky, unlike coney chili. Considering getting the nachos with chili next time as our bowl of chili came with two homemade tortilla chips and just loved those! If we were more into sports bars, we woulda gave it five stars. But we are here for the food and not the sports atmosphere.

Must try the wild rice soup. It’s one of the soups of the day, so call ahead. I also asked for my dinner to be completely deconstructed and my wait person(Caitlyn) got everything perfect withoit even writing anything down. Way to be paperless! !!

We spent many hours in the real Ashley’s in Ann Arbor. This one is in the parking lot of a dying mall in Westland. There is a small patio area grafted on the back. Inside is a large dining room room with a straight bar, and a side bar area with a U shaped bar. The side barroom is crazy loud, even with only a few people in it. We had the bar snack sampler, they were okay but not great. The draft beer selection is good, except as compared to the one at the real Ashley’s. The bottle selection is good but overpriced for Westland. Several TVs, all on sports channels. They even had a projection TV on a pull down white screen. This is a nice place for Westland, but a pale copy of the real Ashley’s. Avoid the side bar area if you need any sort of hearing left after your visit.

Pretty awesome place for beers and food. They usually have a ton of beers on tap. Local, seasonal and michigan made. Huge plus. Nice seating on patio in decent weather. Their deep dish pizza is fucking wicked good.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants to dine at in Westland. Staff is wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable in helping you with beer choices. If you ever get a chance, go eat here! P. S. my favorites are the potato skins and the adult grilled cheese sandwich. Also love the pizza =)

I have been there twice so far and both were good! It has been a long time since I went to a restaurant, tried something, and then became super excited for more food! There french onion soup is to die for and you can never go wrong with the pizza! On top of that our waitress was bubbly and always there when we needed something!

Stopped in one Saturday afternoon for a bite. The décor and atmosphere of the place is amazing. Our server(and everyone else we encountered) was extremely friendly and helpful too! If you’re a beer connoisseur, they boast 19 on tap, and hundreds(maybe thousands?) of different bottled. The selection is constantly changing, so check their website for more details. We opted to go with a Deluxe Grilled Cheese, the adult version of childhood classic– Texas toast grilled and smothered with cheddar, Swiss and provolone cheese and topped with bacon and tomato(for me). This was a coronary nightmare and heaven all rolled up in one. Cheese, buttery, bacony goodness! My fiancé went with a Caprese Sandwich — fresh mozzarella, roma tomatoes, red onion and pesto on spent grain bread drizzled with balsamic syrup. I’m a meat eater, but this sandwich was phenomenal. We’ve actually started making them at home! We both got pesto fries as well which are waffle cut spicy fries tossed with basil pesto and sun dried tomatoes, & topped with Parmesan cheese. They came with a southwest ranch style sauce, which was completely unnecessary. The fries stood on their own. I love the menu, so many things to try here. We’re in the process of planning an after-work party for next week!

During college is frequented the Ashleys in Ann Arbor all of the time. I was glad when they opened the one in Westland. This location is larger than Ann Arbor. In fact, it’s more of a family friendly place. Large beer selection. The food is good. I also like the surroundings-cool tables with beer logos and beer signs, posters all over the place. Great place for Trivia. One complaint is the service. The service here is real spotty. Some days it’s great, others-terrible. The location is easy to get to with plenty of parking. Plenty of TVs to watch sports.

Have been here a few times but most recently for a special Founders event. We sat ourselves in the bar area and were quickly greeted by our waitress, Nicole B. It was pretty busy for the Founders event but this didn’t deter her from providing us with awesome, personable service. We ordered the Texan burger(meat, bacon, bbq, onion straws, cheese, tomato on garlic Texas toast) and a buffalo chicken wrap with upgraded waffle fries. Both meals were good, nothing to complain about yet nothing to rave about. There was no evidence of buffalo sauce in the chicken wrap but there was some spice which led me to believe that their chicken is just dry rubbed with spice as opposed to sauced up. Overall good tasting food and generous portions — and great place for beers. Nicole informed us that draft beers are only $ 3 on Tuesdays. They have an expansive list of bottled beers and rotating craft taps. For this event in particular, we were able to score a flight of ’13-’14-’15KBS; had pints of Mosaic Promise & Double Trouble while we waited for our KBS flight to come down in temp.; and also tried the Bolt Cutter.

I was able to get my teen son to have lunch with me and we chose Ashley’s. We arrived just after they opened 12 noon! I was surprised how late they opened, but no problem for us. The hostess and waitress were very nice and prompt. Everything on the menu sounded good! Son had a cheeseburger w/waffle fries and I had the crispy chicken salad and a cup of their chowder. Burger /fries were cooked perfectly and looked good– they got thumbs up from my son– Chowder was very yummmmmmy!!! The salad was very good, lots of mixed flavors BUT I can’t stand bagged iceberg lettuce — it has a funky aftertaste and doesn’t ever taste fresh– so I picked out as many green non core rib pieces I could and ate the fruit/chicken. Needed an additional side of dressing– We definitely will go back. — side note– not really conducive to large groups– so I wouldn’t do a happy hour with a large group

Dropped by after visiting the gun range and was happy we did! Their craft beer was ok but the food was amazing! Wife had the chicken caesar wrap and loved every bit of it. The rattlesnake fries were great too

Arrived shortly after a noon open on Sunday. Floors still wet from mopping the night before business. Nasty smell from either beer drain lines or the mop and bucket were dirty. Just not sure. Person at host stand more interested in what they were doing than greeting and seating us. Once we were acknowledged she was friendly and inquired as to our needs. We told her we wanted a «table“for 5. She took us to a booth and said«this will be okay?» No we asked for s table with chairs as the booths are rather confining and wouldn’t accommodate me or my grandson n his car seat. She delivered water for all and tried to sell beer and appetizers. She said she’d be right back and then returned 15 minutes later. She lost the appetizer order due to her flight but we ordered our meals. When asked about the macaroni and cheese side order she had difficulty describing. Then my daughter flatly asked if it was made fresh or boxed. To which she didn’t know. Two drinks were ordered which took over 15 minutes to get to the table. When she arrived with them we were told she was just made aware of a party and she had to set it up. Their servers were present and did fine getting to their tables. That damn party took priority over my family’s lunch. The meals were brought out in parts because she didn’t want them to die in window but they weren’t hot so I was confused. Then my daughter wanted a box for her Cobb Salad(large and inviting) before digging in because sh knew she wouldn’t eat the whole thing. A different server returned about 10 minutes later with said box and a pop refill. Once the meals were delivered we never saw from her again until she wanted to deliver the check. Even this took longer than should be allowed to process. We left I’m sure I will be back but under duress as my family over looks these items. I can’t as an industry veteran of over 35 years.

Maybe it was unusually busy the night I went. Maybe the staff was just having an off day. But, from the from the time I walked in there was nothing very positive about the experience. We had 6 people and the person up from was rude about telling us they were pretty much full. It was pretty much«we’re doing trivia, you’re out of luck»(not that exact studying but that’s how it came across). I was there for an hour an a half and the server only came by a couple times. She would only quickly ask the people with empty glasses if they wanted another before running off again.

Another place with few vegetarian options. Since I don’t care for beer, my review is based mostly on the food I’ve tried. Ashley’s serves your typical B&G food; burgers and pizza. I always get a black bean burger(that’s pretty much the only option. They’re not terribly veggie friendly.), choose my own toppings, and have a side of waffle fries. It’s never bad! The atmosphere is nice and their busy nights are definitely busy. I enjoy that they’re always buzzing. There are televisions all over for sports games and there’s even trivia on some nights. Overall, not a bad place to eat. If you love beer, I definitely recommend you give this place a try. Not that I’m ever particularly listening, but the servers are usually talking about there being new things in tap. There seems to be a good variety from what I’ve noticed, and I have a few friends that enjoy what they’ve tried! If you aren’t into beer like me, prepare yourself for just another burger/pizza place. The food is alright, and they *do* have waffle fries so there’s that. Without the beer, this place really doesn’t set itself apart from the rest. It’s still pretty fun to come along with your beer loving buddies though, so just give them a try!

Five stars for the liquor, beer and drink selection. Three stars for the food. I didn’t care for the rattlesnake pasta, but the boyfriend had French onion soup and fish and chips which was good. Our friend had a steak and that was decent as well. I liked the atmosphere and wait staff was quick and friendly.

Bar-wise, this is definitely the classiest joint in Westland. If you love beer, this is definitely the place to be. Massive selection of brews. Awesome drink menu as well. The staff is smart and can always find a drink choice to compliment your food selections. Speaking of food selection, it is a great pub menu. They have everything from Fish and Chips to burgers to pizza and aps. They even have mussels, which comes out smelling ever so nicely. The food selection here is good and everything always tastes great. I love the pizza, but the all star here, have got to be the fries. They are waffle cut and freaking delicious. My favorite, the pesto fries, but that’s just me. They have an extensive fries menu and I’m sure they are all good. This is a great place to go to pre-drink before going on a Mall shopping spree 500 feet away. Great place. Westland needed this one. Bonus — In the Summer, they have an awesome patio.

DONOTCOMEHEREFORFOOD!!! Horrible food… 4 of us went here to eat… The only thing that was decent was the grilled cheese(and how can you mess that up?). Philly Cheesesteak was made with cheddar… dry and disgusting. No flavor… Same with the entrees the other two ordered. The chili was cold, not warm, so that was sent back. We would have sent it all back, but we had already waited 30 – 45 mins to get seated and would have taken too long to get new orders.(I don’t think their other food would have been any better since we had multiple orders like this. I believe this is pretty standard for the place.) Our server was decent, so we didn’t screw her on a tip, but do not go here for food.

i love ashley’s. plenty of beers to choose from, and definitely lots of yummy foods to choose from as well. i have had their fajitas, deep dish and hand tossed pizza, and their burgers. everything is great! my favorite item on the menu is their spinach and artichoke dip. deliciously cheesy and a noticeable amount of artichokes! the best spinach dip you can get at a restaurant. served with their fresh tortilla chips. i usually opt for their big texan burger, which comes loaded with bacon, crispy onion straws, bbq sauce, lettuce & tomato! i usually get waffles fries with it($ 1.29 to substitute for fries) and a side of ranch for dipping! i love coming here when i don’t really know what i want to eat, because i know i can find something great on the menu.
