I have been shopping at Hoot N Anny Home for several years. Owner, Jennifer Maxcy is delightful, honest and ALWAYS creative. She shares ideas freely and I can envision new possibilities after a visit to her store. I usually come away with an item which is always unique. Her furniture, baskets, ladders, lamps and accessories are pieces I do not see in other stores. A fresh approach and reasonable prices. She has been to my home several times consulting and also staged a rental unit for me. The stores merchandise is constantly changing and I learned to buy it or loose it. If rustic, vintage with a bit of whimsy is your style, don’t miss this store.

This shop was such a wonderful find! A great little gem, unexpectedly located across from the Four Seasons, I left with some great little accent items for my new home, as well as a really cool African basket that will be my new farmer’s market bag. Jennifer is really cool and friendly, and recommended a great lunch spot nearby. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for rustic-chic décor for your home! A girl’s dream!

very surprised by all the positive comments. jennifer maxcy is a DISHONEST business woman. i’ve spent 10’s of thousands of dollars at this establishment. bought a $ 500 table that broke the next day — jennifer maxcy didn’t refund me a dime. she uses her ‘charm’ to trick honest people into trusting her. BUYERBEWARE she is a fake! she will bamboozle you as soon as she has the chance. i have a gf who also had a similar experience except hers was a $ 3000 table that was a complete disaster and jennifer took no responsibilty. i thought i could trust her because of the years i had been shopping at her store. DONOTGOHERE! there are several honest similar stores nearby that stand behind their merchandise and aren’t money sucking con artists.

This place is so full of ‘Eye Candy’. Very, very creative. A talent for repurposing old into new. Jennifer is a delight.

I really admire the creativity that I saw in Hoot n Anny, with the Christmas tree made of book pages, custom lamps and hanging lights of all sorts that were created from ordinary things and the great window displays, too. Can’t wait to go back and see what I find next time!

I have to agree – Jen just«has it»! I wish I did, too, but even so – I know it when I see it, and she has it. :) She has a great eye, a great abilitly to put things together, and a great ability to come up with ideas that are out of the ordinary but work in amazing ways! So, stop by and buy something. Make the shop so busy that Jen has to HIREME to help her! :)

Since staying at the Soho Grand I have had a minor obsession with the subtle incorporation of vintage iron and gray flavors to my otherwise more traditional home. This store is really fun to shop and is also a great inspiration to get me fired up about repurposing what I might already own but overlook. The owner is very creative and has an energy and eye that translates into a shop that uniquely stands out amidst the shops on Via Colina. But more critically, she could hold her own in any of the best retail neighborhoods of LA, SF or NYC.

FIRSTOFALL… HIDDEN… GEM… I’m so excited about this place… Ok… calm down. I had my dogs groomed up the alley from this place. The groomers said 4 hrs. Oh gosh. what am I going to do for 4 hrs. as I live about 30 min away. So, I started checking out all the little shops in the Via Colinas Alley. It’s re-done! I haven’t been to the Via Colinas shops in about a year. Back then there were a lot of vacancies and ok shops… NOW… ITROCKS. I guess you can say completely transformed! I literally didn’t get to every store I wanted in the 4 hrs. This store was one of my FAVORITES. I actually ended up staying for quite a while and gabbed with the owner Jennifer. She is a talented genius… She has the eye for the quirky, eclectic, vintage vibe like no other. She just«HASIT»… affordable one-of-a kind pieces and really cool store displays. She’s that girl that takes a common item and makes it into something totally unique! WORDNEEDSTOGETOUT about her store. in fact about all the little stores in this little area. Check out her store! It’s WAYAWESOME!

The end of the story is, «Do you take American Express?» «Yes, we do!» «Okay! I’ll take that, and that, and that!» Right across from the Four Seasons is a hidden gem… hoot n’ anny home! Now, I’ll start at the beginning: A designer friend of mine went to their opening weekend last month and was awed by the store! She told me that I had to stop by sometime. There were 2 over-stuffed chairs that I would love! Seriously, when is this Hollywood girl ever going to «stop by» anywhere in Westlake Village? Okay, never say never. I found myself across the street(don’t ask) and decided to check it out. Wowza! It is SO eclectic and fun! Furniture, wall pieces, trinkets, and soap… oh my! Vintage, contemporary, rustic modern… this place has it all! Except for those over-stuffed chairs. They were long gone. Evidently, almost everything is one of a kind. And the turn-over is fast! Funny that while I was perusing, there were a couple other people who came and went. I guess they just didn’t get it… or it wasn’t what they were looking for. Eh. Another shopper was there before me, and was still there after I left(and she was getting measurements)! If this is your kind of shop, you will know it immediately! hoot n’ nanny home is not my «if you’re in the neighborhood» place, it is now my destination in Westlake Village!
