Dear god, my back hurts… there’s pain in places I never thought could hurt D: Ha! Man where do I start? I was invited by a friend on my bday AND on vacation to take on a session of Capoeira with Shira. Open fresh air, nice soft grass, awesome people and even more awesome is the instructor — Shira Winitzky. Alright so what? It’s inviting. It really is fun! It doesn’t feel like a workout and I keep finding myself having loads of fun. Makes me kinda wish I lived in Cali just to keep up with these classes. As a newbie who has never done Capoeira, Shira makes sure you are doing things right and to slowly grow you into the process of becoming stronger and better. You’ll sweat, you’ll have fun, you’ll probably bend over dying the first time in, but one thing you’ll leave knowing is that you had a great time.

Finally! Capoeira near Thousand Oaks, CA!(I should have said this last year) You can tell right away that Shira LOVES the art and teaching it to people. I have trained with her for about 8 months and I really like the«family» atmosphere. I feel like I’ve known her for long time. No intimidation here, everybody has their own level and improvement. If my 6 yr-old son enjoys it, you’ll enjoy it too. Each session is an hour long, but most of the time you feel that you want more at the end of the class because time flies when you enjoy something. They have great program now. Make sure you check it out because your first class is free!

Shira is not only a great teacher but a great friend who really cares about Capoeira! She makes Capoeira accessible to everyone, young, old, fit and out of shape. We all get a good workout. Never a dull moment, everyone in the class has a great attitude and are very welcoming!
