Great apple orchard for apple picking! They do pyo on weekends during Apple season along with free hayrides and over 20 apple varieties! There is also the great farm stand with a huge variety of fresh produce grown locally, in season they also carry hills orchard peaches and plums that are mouth watering! Great selection of stonewall products along with some other local products including honey, maple syrup, dairy, soaps and much more! I highly recommend checking out farmer Daves CSA share(hill orchard is one of there pick up locations) it’s great value and very convenient! The orchard is located in historic westford in a beautiful quite neighborhood and the staff is very helpful and friendly! Love this place so much and I would highly recommend it!

This is an ideal orchard for Apple picking with the kids. Small area to cover with plenty of variety and the hay ride is an unbelievable bonus with the kids. We discovered Hill Orchard last year, have gone again this year and will make another visit later in the season when other varieties get into season.

This is one of the nicest, friendliest orchards I’ve ever been to. Even the drive into the orchard is beautiful, the grassy car path taking you deep inside the orchard to their ample parking area. The smallest bag(½ peck?) was $ 7.50, and that got us 23 small-to-upper-medium-sized Macouns, Macs, Golden Delicious, and Gala apples. Trees and rows that were ready for picking were clearly marked with staked signs marking the fruit trees’ species, and the egress portions of the orchard was accessible to folks using a variety of assistive/adaptive devices(wheelchairs, crutches, canes, walkers, et cetera). The hayride was a lovely and fun touch. There were perhaps forty to fifty people of all ages picking apples at the same time we were picking, but the orchard is so sizable, it did not feel cramped or crowded, and there was ample fruit for all of us and then some. As we were leaving, I noticed a white peach tree still in fruit, and I asked if I could buy some peaches. The owner said yes, and she picked them right off the branch and sold them to us. Oh, yes, I had fresh white peaches that night. They, like the apples, were flavorful and I felt incredibly lucky to have timed our visit just right. They had the first of the pumpkins for the year, too. Definitely put me in the mood for the season! Best of all, I wasn’t sure how they did pest control, but I was very pleased to come home and read on their website that they do IPM(integrated pest management), rather than rely on conventional commercial methods. We’ll definitely be back to this gorgeous orchard full of passionate farmers!

I’m more than partial to this place since it’s practically around the corner from where I grew up and where my parents still live. Any time I’m home, I stock up on produce from this farm stand. They have an awesome variety of apples, gourds and berries — the New England staples — as you might expect. Especially in peak season, these are to die for. What you might not know is in the summer months they also have delectable peaches and plums. If it wasn’t for this farm stand I wouldn’t have even though those kinds of fruit even grow up here, but they do and man, are they juicy and sweet! They also have locally-made products — again, things you might not even know are made in the area since it’s all suburban houses: cheese, honey, jams. The location is kind of out of the way if you’re not from the area, but I really recommend it. The farm stand is a small building in a neighborhood of otherwise-unremarkable suburban houses — but you can get a glimpse of the orchard(where, in peak apple months you can go and pick your own fruit!) I pray this place never sells its land or goes out of business. Farms and orchards like Hill’s have been disappearing from Chelmsford and Westford at an alarming rate over the past decade. So many nearby places that were once family-owned fruit farms have been sold and turned into McMansion farms. Thankfully the town of Westford bought this place in 2000 to prevent it from completely disappearing(it’s not nearly as big as it used to be), but it still needs patronage to survive, and it is run day-to-day by a local family. This is one of the last places left. Don’t let it fade away.
