We went here for Father’s Day brunch and it was a huge letdown. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was small, oily, and overcooked. The eggs were extremely runny and undercooked. The toast was completely burnt and inedible… I mean, burnt black(see photos). The potatoes were easily the best things on the plate by far. The water smelled of dish soap. Also, service was below-average. The server only came by twice, once to take the order and once to give us the check. He wasn’t particularly rude, but he was not cordial or welcoming at all. He dropped off the check without a word and did not crack a smile the whole time. Very awkward. I would not go back or recommend this place to anyone.

I had a spontaneous dinner date with my wife and in-laws tonight(Sunday night) and I will have to say: I don’t understand the complaints regarding flavorless or bland food. We started with salads(strawberry, caesar, and house), all of which were fresh and dressed with different, tasty dressings or vinaigrettes. We didn’t order apps because we weren’t hungry enough. There seemed to be nice options on the apps list, lots of seafood options. We went straight for the entrees. For dinner, I had a cowboy steak cooked perfectly to MR. It was well seasoned and far from bland. I had a simple baked potato. My wife had the linguini and meatballs, and said she really liked it. I didn’t taste it, so I can’t exactly speak to it. My sister ordered the angus burger, and loved it. It was huge. Again, I didn’t try it. So, while some say the food is so-so, I didn’t experience a single problem. Maybe it’s hit or miss? If so, the restaurant might have to work on its consistency. However, based on my one visit, you can come here and expect a good meal

The martini’s were amazing and our waiter was charming but the caprese salad was supermarket mozzarella, an uninteresting tomato and basil that lacked flavor. The tuna tartare was kinda tasty, but the tuna was gray(?) and nondescript, they don’t put salt on the table because the chef will perfectly season everything, the tuna tartare needed salt. We ordered a cowboy steak with sides of asparagus and mushrooms. The asparagus was nice but at $ 1/stalk … The mushrooms were just ok. The cowboy steak was really good but not quite steakhouse. So if you want to pay steakhouse prices, come to sweet water, but if you want to have a steakhouse meal, go somewhere else

My buddy and I went out for a couple of steaks. We both order the cowboy steaks and some appetizers. I ordered my steak medium well and it came out medium at best. I’m not a sender backer so I ate it anyways I can deal with a little blood no biggy, but boy was it fatty. Maybe got 10 ounces of meet off of a «20 oz» steak. Macaroni and cheese was good. The tuna tar tar was so so nothing special served in martini glass not good for sharing. Drinks were made well you can taste the alcohol which is always a good thing. Would have been a five star except for the fact that my friend and I both ran to the bathroom when we got home. Same ending in both movies

I came here for lunch and had a decent experience. There was nothing great about this place, nothing awful either. They were setting up for dinner at the time so it was a little messy. Its a nice place in a nice location.

This is my second time visiting Sweet Water and I must say the got it right again! The first time was during Valentine’s Day and they made going out on this busy day easy! Our dinner which was a the baked oysters(which are our favorite) a porterhouse for two(which was well priced in our opinion) whipped sweet potato, creamed Spinach and a baked patatoe. We are still raving about that meal till this day! The service was very impressed never felt rushed and was actually encouraged to take our time. Today we went for Easter brunch and it was nothing short of amazing! They let us order the baked oysters off the regular menu, you can’t go there and not have the baked oysters. The same great service, great meal with amazing flavor! Once again you can’t beat the price that we paid for brunch! Sweet water has really got a sweet place in our hearts and tummy!!!

Came here to host my pharmaceutical sales program dinner. The food was great, but what separated this place from the rest was the service. William was knowledgeable about wine and the menu, went above and beyond to deliver great service, and remained very attentive while he balanced serving my party and half of the restaurant. I will definitely be returning.

I recently had brunch with my girlfriend here and I acquired a discount from«Living Social» Our reservations was for noon but being the punctual cats that we are we arrived early. William greeted us, and he was very pleasant and professional. We were seated and had our coats checked. We were then brought the menu and was offered something to drink. The deal with living social allowed 2 glasses of wine or 2 cocktails and we could only order from the brunch menu. At first it looked like they only had salads in that section but them my friend and I saw that there was also sandwiches so we ordered those instead. She had the turkey BLT and I had the Philly Steak with sautéed mushrooms and onions. It was really delicious and filling. The service was better than average and the food was really, really good. The place was clean and well decorated, all ready for Valentines. Really cute. I would definitely like to go back and try another dish. When were there it was very quiet. Only 2 other tables had guests, so the noise level was perfect. Not sure what the evenings bring, and plus we went on a Monday afternoon. Just be careful when parking right by the restaurant. There is a tree right there that a ton of bird lives in. They stay in that tree and just make their droppings all over the place. When I got out of the restaurant my car was filled with their bathroom stuff LOL! I had to drive straight to a car wash. There is metered parking. It’s in a neighborhood where after lunch/brunch you can go for a walk, shop or just window shop. Nice little neighborhood.

An average, very loud steak house. The night we were there there was a very nice family with an excessively loud 10 month old. So an average expensive steak tastes a little less average in an environment like that.

I grew up nearby, and I have now been to Sweet Waters twice. I am a huge steak(and meat in general) fan. This is my favorite steakhouse. Pros: –Very good cocktails, made with the correct amount of liquor. –Strong appetizers –Lots of choices for sides & potatoes –The best part are the steaks themselves: always tender, cooked perfectly, and flavorful. I loved the sauces you can order with them as well. –Pretty quiet atmosphere. Cons: –It is expensive. The sauces cost extra, and the steaks are not cheap. That being said, you are going to pay a lot for a good steak no matter where you go. –This is a pro for me, but some people might see it as a con: the place has yet to be crowded when I’ve been there. I suspect that this reflects the price, not the quality of the food.

My wife and I came here last night to celebrate our anniversary. A friend of mine had given me a gift certificate for my birthday to OpenTable and i choose this restaurant based on the reviews. We started with the tuna tar tar. Excellent flavor! Tasted like a sushi roll in a glass. I just wish there was a little less mayo and more tuna… but still very tasty. We also had a ½ dozen oysters that were from Washington state. Very good! We split an iceberg wedge salad. Im not a big fan of iceberg… but i wanted the bleu cheese and crumbled bacon!!! Splitting it was good because i needed to leave room for STEAK! We both ordered the Cowboy Steak(bone-in ribeye). It was perfectly cooked to a nice MEDIUM for her… and MEDIUMRARE for me. Sweetwater cooks steak the way it should be. Sprinkle with salt/pepper and throw on grill! They give you a side of sauce… which i didnt touch… dont like sauce on my steak. I ordered a side of sauteed spinach and it was great. Some places sautee it into mush… not here. My wife wasnt going to have dessert… but once she heard pumpkin cheese cake… that changed quickly. She devoured it. I had an warm apple pastry with ice cream… it was perfect… not too sweet! Our server William was excellent. We were the last ones in restaurant(whicch i hate being) but we never felt rushed even though i was rushing! Thank you to the staff for an excellent anniversary dinner… and William… keep up the excellent photography!!!

It’s not cheap. Went with a living social brunch special… so it was cheap for us ;) Skirt steak/2 eggs(prepared how you like) hashbrowns $ 15(fairly priced) every thing was prepared perfectly Side of bacon $ 5(overpriced) also cooked perfectly Gf had a side of sausage $ 7… excellent quality. Aside from expensive sides I have no complaints. Decorated impeccably. Our waiter was on the money. The food was outstanding. I definitely recommend dining here. *** tip… its always on groupon or living social. No need to pay full price here****

Came here for the first time with my wife, it was recomendation with my friend. We had French Onion Soup to start, very nice presentation but the taste is just okay. My wife had French Breast of Chicken and i had 18oz Cowboy Steak. Chicken breast was good but i wasn’t satisfied for cowboy steak, for me its just a simple grilled steak. I was expecting amazing, it was recomendation by the server. In my opinion i think the price of the menu is a little to high for what we got. Very Pricey Service was very good, and she’s always in our table everytime we need something.

Not surprisingly, very good steaks – especially if you ask for them«Cajun style»(no long listed on the menu). More surprisingly, excellent fish and very good salads. Neither inexpensive nor BYO, but pretty with excellent service and outdoor tables, weather permitting. Takes reservations, unlike some of its Elm Street neighbors, so you can actually arrange with confidence to meet another couple at 730 and not stand in a cold, crowded doorway for half an hour.

Came with my girlfriend with a Living Social coupon. This place is expensive! Staff was friendly and timely. They were somehow out ribeye at 8PM and the waiter didn’t mention it when he took our orders. Strip steak — solid steak made the way we like it. Juicy inside. Not amazing compared with other steaks but a bit better then Longhorn. Crab cake — one of the best I’ve had. Chunks of crab packed not too tightly. Flavorful, not too salty. Mac and cheese side — delicious! Warm, cheesy, oily. French onion soup — salty, otherwise average. Overall, I’d come back only if I have a Living Social coupon due to their prices. Otherwise, I’d try some place else. This is a solid steakhouse though if you’re willing to spend $$$.

My husband and I went for the first time last night and we were very underwhelmed. The food was good, not great and NOT worth the cost! We ordered the cognac mushrooms to share as an app. It was too small to share so I just had a taste and let my husband finish it(Awesome Wife Points??). He didn’t mind it but I though it was very mushy. The mushrooms did not hold up well to the filling and the amount of sauce on the plate. Meh. I ordered the dry aged sirloin with a loaded baked potato and sautéed spinach. The steak was good, not mind blowing. Cooked a little more medium than rare, like I had ordered. The baked potato was on par with something you’d get at TGI Fridays. It was so basic. The spinach disappointed me the most. It was flavorless. Completely. My husband ordered the cowboy steak and his was cooked rare, as asked. His mashed potatoes were almost cold and the onions and mushrooms on top of his steak were also completely flavorless. Then the bill came. :choke: For the price we paid we could have gone to Roots in Summit and had an insanely delicious experience with no regrets. I was so irritated at the quality vs. price at Sweet Waters. Very disappointing. I wish I had checked Unilocal like I try to do in case there are any deals. Would have saved us a little. But, I didn’t(There go the Awesome Wife Points I earned earlier). Even with the Unilocal deal, be prepared to shell out some cash but leave sad. Our waiter was very nice though!
