Several years ago I suddenly came down with THE dizziness spell from hell– think drinking an entire bottle of Southern Comfort, then riding a spinning whirl, times it by 100, and having it for 4-hours. I had never thrown up so much in my life. Vertigo was the symptom, Ménière’s syndrom was the illness – a devastating vascular disease that had no known cause. In its most intense form it can render you deaf, or worse, you can lose your sense of balance completely. I had vertigo spells intermittently for years that became less and less do to treatment. My ENT specialist, Dr Koegel is now retired, but if he is any indication of the quality of this place, than it certainly is highly recommended for ear, nose, and throat problems. Everyone from the front staff, to the audiologist, to the good doc himself treated me with respect and friendliness. They took due diligence in making sure the diagnosis was correct, and not left to chance. They measured my progress with an eye to more aggressive treatments if it worsen. It never did. As of today I am 100-percent free of vertigo and have limited hearing loss because of this place. Of course, the key to treatment is to follow the regiment that they ask. Cut smoking: check. Cut salt: check. Cut alcohol: oh ok, check. Take a diuretic: easy peasy. Eat spinach: check. Cut caffeine: What? Let me see your license! Ok so I didn’t follow everything.(I did mix un-caffeinated coffee with regular to at least cut the caffeine level.) I am highly grateful for Ohio ENT. I feel great today, and it is due to them.

For the first time in my life, I can breathe through my nose thanks to Dr. Spiess at Ohio ENT. I was referred to this practice by my family medicine doctor. I had my CT performed less than two weeks before my surgery. As soon as I knew there was a surgical solution to my absolute inability to breathe through my nose, I booked the procedure. What I like about Ohio ENT is that they have very flexible appointments and you are in and out of there in a hurry. This may leave some patients feeling like numbers, but as someone who works a lot, I really liked how quick the appointment process was. I never felt rushed or that I couldn’t ask the doctor any questions. I felt really prepared for my surgery. I had two appointments before the surgery, one before my CT, one after and three follow up appointments after the surgery at one week, two weeks and a month after my procedure. My only dislike about this practice is they messed up my scheduling once – scheduling me for the wrong time and wrong place. Luckily, after a quick phone call they got me in for an appointment the next business day, and I had my surgery that week. If you can’t breathe, consider endoscopic sinus surgery. You will not regret it.
