Danny’s Subs

Way overpriced for starters and instead of having them make a sub with Kroger meats go next door to Kroger and get your own and save some money. It’s pretty pathetic that someone would actually call this a go to place. Leave Westerville for once and get a real sub. Heck get some real food period.

This place has become my go-​to place for lunch. I attend Westerville Central and this is right there near so its already a good place to stop. I try to get there around when it opens and I’ve never been disappointed. Friendly staff always there with a smile, fresh sliced meat and fresh veggies are all great. Personally I go with the Turkey sub with no bacon and it hits the spot every time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great sub and even better service.

One of our favorite sub shops around, very fresh ingredients. We typically order the turkey club on wheat and the bacon is always crispy, just the way we like it. Very friendly staff too! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Ate there for the first time. I don’t know why anyone would choose Subway over Danny’s. Everything cut fresh and the price was only a little more than Subway.

Awesome subs. During lunch they can be a little slow preparing everything, but overall very worth it. My go to is the chipotle cheese steak.

I came back about a month after my previous review and found that they are once again using real roast beef on their subs, not the mystery Kroger deli meat. Perhaps they just ran out on our last visit.

If you were to take me into this place without telling me what the name of it was, I would automatically assume I was in a Jersey Mike’s. The whole layout of ordering is almost entirely the same, and they even have most of the same toppings. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, since I myself am a fan of Jersey Mike’s, and Danny’s actually has way more hot sub options. I chose to go with a cold Italian however.
I went with their large sub, which is essentially the same size as a giant from Jersey Mike’s, maybe a couple of inches shorter. Had I known there were no pictures on here, I would have taken some. I believe it runs just under $ 10, which isn’t bad for a 14 inch sub.
The meat and toppings were pretty good, but I thought the white bread was a bit bland. It seemed pretty dry, but we went on a Sunday night, so I don’t know how long ago it had been made at that point.
If you enjoy Jersey Mike’s, and you’re in the Westerville area, this would be a pretty good alternative. I don’t live close to here at all and took my chance in trying it, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Best sub I have ever had in Columbus I go there atleast once a week sometimes two. They are great prices for how much you get. I would recommend the house sub (#1). If your ever in the Westerville area you have to stop by here because it is the best sub joint in Columbus.

Sometimes it can get crowded at lunch hour which is a bummer because there really is no way to make sandwiches fast when staff is light and a mad rush comes in. If you do however have patience or go at an slower time you will find out that Danny makes one hell of a sub.

Great sub! Had the west coast cheesesteak and it was great! Huge sub that I had trouble finishing. Good value, huge sub with chips and a drink for around $ 10.

I came today to grab a sandwich to take back to work, after seeing how much certain Unilocalers are raving about it. I don’t want to dislike, but there isn’t much for me here. I can understand meat-​eaters enjoying good subs here. Being a pescetarian, I had a choice of tuna or veggie cold sub and chose the veggie. It was a good sub; it just wasn’t a great sub. I hate it when eating a sandwich makes my gums sore. Petty, but true. The two ladies working were very nice and punch cards are offered. They were even selling boxes of Girl Scout Cookies, and giving an extra punch with purchase (I did buy one box).

Local sub joint that is so surprisingly good. Looking for a quick lunch that wasn’t typical fast food and went into Danny’s. Friendly staff, basic options but the meat is sliced to order. Everything seemed super fresh. Four times the meat you get at Subway and better quality. Will definitely return.

I love Danny’s Subs. You can’t go wrong with the cold sub when they slice everything fresh in front of you. I feel like you get a good amount of meat and cheese here too so it’s not overpowered with lettuce and such at the end. Will be back soon! The Italian is something special!

My girlfriend and I love to get Danny’s subs. They are just like Jersey Mike’s but they are friendlier and have macaroni salad with cheese bits that are delicious! Jersey Mikes used to offer mac salad like this but corporate stupidly did away with it. They have a great hot grilled chicken sub here that has to be tasted to believe.
Not sure what some other reviewers were talking about the help there being rude, in fact I really like going to Danny’s because they are pretty friendly. I always like to talk to the people who work at places like this if they aren’t too busy and a little bit of friendliness goes a long way to whether or not I come back.
TIP: Be sure to hit up their website (I think it’s

Give me Danny’s Subs over Subway or Jimmy Johns any day. Danny’s is more in the Jersey Mike’s vein with freshly cut meat, fresh toppings and large offerings. It’s local which makes it that much more appealing. The knock on Danny’s are the hours. Since my high school days, the hours of operation seem to be limited. I think it’s gotten better, but make sure you know for sure they’re open before making the trek.

My all-​time favorite sub shop. They serve phenomenal cold and hot subs and the service is great. All the ingredients are fresh and they cook the roast beef in house so it’s extremely fresh and packed with flavor. Try the roast beef club, it’s my personal favorite.

and can cook hot subs.
The food is good, service is neutral, sitting is all indoors.
I tell you what if they had some outside seating, I would like it a lot more.

I suppose my review might be a star higher if I lived a little closer to them. But my Italian sausage sandwich was good, just a little bit better than so-​so. And one thing that I did notice was that they cut their lunch meat WAY TOO THICK. I suppose that’s because they’ve never been taught or they could just be lazy. But that doesn’t make a good sandwich.
But the service was good and they accomodated my request to cook the peppers a little longer. And the store is nice but a little small. Oh, and they’ve got a tip jar out. What the hell would you tip for? For making you a sandwich? That’s what they’re paid to do.

As good as it gets for quick cold and hot subs in the area. This is my go to place for lunch. Always great service and great food. I like the turkey club on wheat with all my usual fixings and the philly cheesesteak. I customize my subs a lot and they are always correct. The subs themselves are on the big side. For lunch I normally get a regular combo (chips and drink) and have them wrap up half the sub to-​go. The large subs span two plates!
I don’t agree with Drew L., I have never felt that the employees (normally the same ones, sometimes new ones in the summer) are any less than happy that I am there. I am always greeted when I come in, asked how I am doing, and what they can get for me… and rather consistently. Never had I had anything less than great service.
I really recommend this sub shop.
