A couple of years ago, I met a cyclist on the road and I asked him about the road bike he was riding. I had been planning to replace the commuter hybrid I had been using for years with a fast, sleek road runner like he had. He told me about this toy & bike shop in Westerly where I would definitely get more bang for my buck. And man, was he ever right. Last August, I decided it was time and through some web surfing, I had narrowed my choices down to three different models. A Cannondale at Providence Cycles, a Specialized at Stedmans and a Giant of which this shop was the local distributor. I almost didn’t come here because I really had my heart set on the Cannondale. But then I remembered what that cyclist told me the previous year and decided to at least take a look at the shop. When I walked in, the owner, John, came over and he gave me a tutorial on carbon fiber bikes that was far more informative than the other two bike shops I mentioned. He then showed me the bike I was thinking about purchasing, but also told me about a close out special he was running on a top end Giant bike. I had originally budgeted my purchase around $ 2200, but after he told me what he was throwing into the close out deal, I couldn’t say no. I got a $ 4000 bike, $ 120 Louis Garneau shoes and $ 150 Shimano SPD pedals for just $ 2900. But it doesn’t end there. Every time I come into the shop with either a small problem or in need of an adjustment, John stops what he’s doing and takes care of my need. That’s customer service I’m on board with. If you’re thinking about buying a bicycle, then let me pass on the same sage advice that cyclist gave me two years ago. Make the effort to visit John at Ray Willis Toy & Bicycles, you’ll be glad you did.

I’ve purchased several bikes from Ray Willis Bike shop. They are always very helpful and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them

When one small business does everything in its power to put another small business OUTOFBUSINESS by spreading INACCURATE and NEGATIVE info. simply because the other store is VIEWED as a «competitor», I won’t shop there. They’re not nice people. Don’t settle. There’s a MUCH better option out there!

5 stars! Ray Willis may be the best & most reasonably priced toy store in the area. The outside décor & interior may not be fancy but they have an awesome selection of toys. This past Christmas season I spent a lotta cash here & next year they will be my first stop when I get my son’s list. They carry Melissa & Doug, Playmobil and Legos all at low prices. Most of their offerings are geared towards younger boys, nothing really for babies but they have a large selection of stuffed animals & some girl stuff. They also have a lotta cool little knick knack toys too like silly putty & cap guns. I found quite a bit of stuff for my son’s stocking here.

These folks have been nothing short of awesome. We shipped a very particular(an difficult to assemble) bike up to them and they put it together and tuned it up. Friendly, personable, and knowledgable service. Liked them so much we even bought another bike there. Certainly worth a stop if you’re in the area. This is what bike shops should strive to be.
