Went here last night. Uh-oh…a Grad night. The place was SWAMPED! Fortunately, we just got in before the main onslaught. Otherwise, I’m sure we wouldn’t have stayed this time. I felt for the grad families who were lined up. This was a special occasion for them. But each group got in fairly fast. The INCREDIBLE mgr. moved groups of 6, 10, 15 etc. in to tables. HomeTown is always fun for us. We come a few times a year. And certain dishes, I think, are great! Can’t beat the fried chicken, mashed pots and gravy. Their fish is good. tasty corn bread, sausages. Love the sweet and sour chicken. Haven’t actually tried the carved offerings. For the tremendous VARIETY of food, it’s GOOD!(I had the daily ‘special’ at a noted dept. store café the day before… fish and chips. Pretty bad! Terrible breading) Restaurants just don’t serve this much variety normally. They try to do well with a limited menu. So for what they do here at HomeTown, I admire and enjoy the adventure. As a teacher at a school for troubled kids, we brought the football team here for awards and a meal. What a nice experience! Last night, that manager was amazing. And his serving crew, wonderful dessert lady, and table cleaners, also cashier did a great job. Only because it was SO unbelievably crowded, the floor could get a little messy, as well as the ice cream area. But part of that is because a few parents let their little kids serve themselves, in spite of a sign that asks that children be attended! Maybe post that at the ice cream station and the icee? machine. Another suggestion: Install at the front door, and perhaps a couple of other areas some hand sanitizer machines. Anyway, thanks to everyone for what must have been a work night from Hell… although you all were very pleasant.

Horrible quality of food. Super dirty. Save your money and don’t eat here. Negative stars are needed for this place.

Just left there. Place was packed beyond capacity. Apparently the«manager» was hosting a huge birthday party and had no concern for the other customers. He kept letting people in knowing there was no place for them to sit. It was a madhouse. We asked for a refund and as we were leaving the line to be seated was growing longer. The manager was not controlling the situation. He was too preoccupied with the party. Out of control!

I came here for a reception so I, as well(a previous Unilocaler mentioned this), had no choice, but to come here with family. My aunts & mom chose this place for the reception of my aunt’s funeral services. They chose this place because we were on a budget and it wasn’t too far from the cemetery. I’m still cringing. The only thing keeping this place going is the good people working here. From the young lady working the cash register to the gentlemen helping clear the tables and even to the manager. All great people offering great service. I never expect much from places like this, but as soon as I entered, I wanted to leave. It smells. Like it LITERALLY smells. I’m not sure if it’s their old carpets that have a stench or if it’s their guests. My older brother also said«it smells funky in here» right before we found our seats. I opened other reviews and they confirmed that I wasn’t the only one that thought it smelled in there. Also, I’m not an extreme germaphobe, but everything looked & seemed unsanitary to me… including touching the serving spoons used to scoop the food. The plates and utensils I picked up were clean. However, they were old– the plates especially… since they’re plastic and very scratched up. Not appealing to use. Food… you get what you pay for. Super standard basic cheap foods. For $ 8.99 lunch during weekdays, the food will do. I don’t live near here so I most likely won’t ever be forced to come back here again, but places like this shouldn’t even be open or should at least consider going through renovation. If they change their smelly carpets, get new plates(porcelain, bone china, ceramic– anything but scratchy plastic plates), and step up their food by even a slight notch, this place would be okay. In this condition, no. Not okay. At all.

this has to have been one of my least favorite stops here in LA. 1.) the food was cold, lukewarm at best. They kept changing out the food, and offered some salad. I wanted a banana, but instead found chopped bananas covered in a strawberry glaze. I had to cut my pancake with a steak knife and couldn’t stomach finishing my eggs. 2) I really felt like I was not a priority at the Hometown buffet. They are a lot cleaner and kinder in my hometown. 3) the plates were dirty. I do not want to pick up a plate to find dried food all over it. 4) the bathrooms were a disgrace. When we entered, a «wait to be seated» sign stood in our way. When trying to open the door, we had to forcefully push it multiple times. Our shoes stuck to the ground. One sink didn’t work, and the other made a terrifying sound when we turned it on. The soap dispensers were without lids and tilted sideways. At least the paper towel machines worked! please, for the sake of your health, stay away.

If you like eating poor quality food, in a disgusting, unclean place with a fowl odor, then this is the SPOT for you !! The food is like eating a cheap $.99 cent TV dinner. This Home Town Buffet is extremely dated and could definitely use a make-over. Be careful, the plates, glasses and soup cups are extremely old and have not been replaced in years. They have high school or young kids cooking the food, who could care less about the quality of the food they are serving. . I even had to move to another table, due to a strong urine odor at my table. Not sure, if, a senior citizen had an accident, but they are 90% of their business . Please, do the Westchester Community a favor and close this business immediately !!

The food was good for what it was. Service could be better. There is always a shortage on food, plates, ice and cups for drinks. I know they are trying their best with what they have to work with. Management needs to do a better job in providing the resources for their hard workers to improve the customer experience here. –Prices are decent for a buffet. –Free parking in the mini-mall lot.

I love eating here, because they have meat and fresh veggies! I’ve been a Hometown customer for a VERYLONG time.

I don’t normally go to buffets, but we went here with my wife’s granny. This place is terrible, the worst. They came up with a plan to stall with food to discourage people from eating. No chips for nachos, brought 3 ribs at a time, the lady slicing the meat kept disappearing, wouldn’t put out desserts, served frozen salad, the list just goes on and on. It’s obvious that they aren’t concerned with anything other than getting your money. Quality and service is not even on their radar.

I have been to many buffets and I have never left disappointed. This buffet was the first. The food selection was very limited and the quality of the food was poor. However, the service was excellent both quick and efficient. Other than the wonderful salad bar, and dessert station, it had very little to offer. Granted I did show up during lunch time. If you want a good salad bar eat here, otherwise skip this place. I will probably give this place another chance during the dinner buffet.

Uhhhh grosssss!!! This place is sick! The food is flippin yuckkkk gross crap! I had to take a sh** within 15 minutes of eating! I walked into the bathroom and it smelled like sulfer which is 10000x worse when your pregnant! Made me wana vomit! I walk up to the toilet and almost turned back around! There was live living mold and fungus all around! If you kept the bathroom clean that type of living organism wouldnt be able to grow! It was horrific. I walked out and first thing i see is the salad bar, it reminded me of the toilets too much so i grabbed my effin cookies and left. Skrew this dumpster. Come on hometown! Kick your game up! You make all that money and cant invest in a cleaner establishment?!

PLEASEDON’T EATHERE. This is by far the worst restaurant me and my family have been to. If I could give it 0 stars of rating I would because of the Very limited food selection and quality not to mention that the food taste like it’s been frozen for a few days prior cooking. Customer service is OK but I will never eat here again and of course I don’t recommend this place to anyone that enjoys tasting good quality food.

Came here for a reception so it wasn’t by choice. They had a good selection of food. The carving station had ribs, prime rib and ham. The hot food selection was good as well. The Mexican soup that day was flavorful and spicy. I like spicy so I enjoyed it. Bad thing about this place was that the utensils were dirty. Yuck. I pulled a few forks(for salad and my meal) and they were all dirty. I was so grossed out. I didn’t eat that much though I was starving because I really unlike dirty utensils and plates. Parking is also horrible. The place was cramped and I felt like there were just too many people at Home Town Buffet. The tables are real close together so it’s like you’re sharing your conversation with other folks. Staff was very attentive though. The cleared out(already) dirty untensils and plates in a timely manner.

I visited this location in March of this year and I am still plagued by the ill-effects of my dinner there. And yes, I am writing this in June. I have always been a big fan of HTB due to its variety. However, over the years the company has noticeably gone downhill in food quality, this being true for many locations. My last visit, at face value, was decent enough. The employees were friendly. The restaurant, however, has not been updated in years. It had begun to look very shady overall and I was instantly wondering why we had chosen to go there. The food was bland, the meat was bloody and not appetizing, the salad bar was full of old and not fresh vegetables, and there wasn’t an employee to be found to ask to carve the things in the special stations. The meal wasn’t satisfying in any way but I figured that I at least ate something. I went home and that night I felt dizzy and sick to my stomach. The next morning I felt like death and vomited. I supposed it was a mistake to eat at HTB and it was clear that I had eaten something that had given me the stomach flu. I figured that I would simply never got to a HTB again. The symptoms persisted for the next two weeks, I could hardly eat and keep food down. My symptoms then receded for a few weeks only to come back stronger. I have been dealing with a large amount of heartburn and other gastritis symptoms. I have gone to the doctor three times in the past two months and I have tested positive for the bacteria H. Pylori; a bacteria that comes from uncooked food and unsanitary conditions. I will be on medication for the next month or so, all because Hometown Buffet seemed like a good idea at the time. Why Hometown Buffet, why?

A decent place to go for a meal. Personally a fan of the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes but to each his own. Dessert was good as well. A couple of different options besides just ice cream, brownies, peach cobble to name a few. Good service. Waiter don’t hover over you 24⁄7 either.

I rate this place in comparison to other buffets of a similar price, for those who come here know they are not at the Four Season 58.00 buffet on Sunday. They come here for the quantity of the food and the price. The food is nutritious, plentiful and ok in taste. Its not fried chicken from Plan Check, its not the meatloaf from the Daily Grill, but people coming here don’t expect it to be. Personally I come for the salad bar and soup when I have a big veggie craving and am near the airport. This place fulfills that need. The bread pudding too is good so I meander over there too. There is a lot of parking behind the building, its clean, the food taste ok and its certainly a price deal, $ 8.50 lunch. so four stars for what it is and what it promises to be meets those expectations

Never again! I came here with a friend for the first time in many years just to find that nothing has changed. The food was still greasy, tasteless, and lukewarm, and the beef stew served in those little metal pans was absolutely solid. The gravy had completely congealed and clung to the beef when I pulled one piece out. Ew. Possibly the worst part of the meal was when my friend brought a corn dog to our table, and when she removed the breading, the meat was brownish-gray and blotchy pink. Our waiter said that it was normal. Normal? Another ew. On the bright side, the staff was quite friendly. They were courteous and took our finished plates in a timely manner, so I’ll give them that credit. If loading up your plates with disappointment, and/or gorging on a budget appeals to you, then this is the place to do so. Otherwise, you’re better off going to Souplantation.

Ugh! Never again. I thought I’d use a promotional coupon for $ 8.99 because hey, for $ 9 how bad could it be? It’s been about 10 years since I’d last been in one of these and I figured it couldn’t be as bad as I remember. Spoiler Alert! The food’s pretty bad. You serve and seat yourself after you pay at the counter, I think the only table service you receive is they’re supposed to come take your used plates. The waiter(?) came over and introduced himself with a big smile but he didn’t do much besides walk by until the end when he took the used plates away(filed with half uneaten food) and recommended I have some dessert even though I was already eating dessert. So not sure what else he does since you serve your own drinks as well. Salad bar: Surprisingly decent actually and had a nice variety. But this is a cheap buffet and you’re here to eat, so if you want salad go a mile up to Souplantation or Olive Garden. Good: Not much really. The fried chicken was the only thing I found edible, but it was stale and sitting under a heat lamp. French green bean vegetables were ok I guess. Dessert was standard sugary sweet cakes and brownies. They had Cinnabon but it was burned and stale too. Bad: About everything else. The carving station is a nice touch, but the prime rib is seriously horrible. It was as stale as shoe leather and hard to chew. Didn’t try the dry looking turkey or the ham. The mashed potatoes tasted like paste and I really like mashed potatoes. The pizza is soggy and sorry tasting. Took a bite and couldn’t eat any more of it. The taco bar was recommended by my server for some reason but it too looked weirdly disgusting so I didn’t have the appetite for it. There was some steak looking thing in a steel serving spoon with more potatoe paste. It was about two bites worth but it was tough meat and not very good. Never again, or unless they go through another rebranding effort and stress quality and value. Better options everywhere else, if you want all you can eat fried chicken with salad and have a big appetite, then you might consider this. If you want satisfaction and decent food, go anywhere else.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! Horrible! If you like eating food for the sake of only eating food no matter what it is, how it’s prepared, or how it’s served, then this may be the place for you! Not much here looks good, and what does look good, does not taste good. Everything I had was not to my liking. Even the staff is weirdly off-putting. If you want a decent buffet and this is your only option, then I would suggest getting in your car and driving to Vegas — any buffet there is better than the buffet here. Sorry to hate, but all this is true!

If you come here with high expectations, you are gonna have a bad time! Everyone knows that most buffets are quantity over quality. Home Town Buffet is not the exception! The manager Betty was a total sweetheart. I was just finished picking up some patio furniture when I realized how hungry I was for a buffet style meal. My phone pulled up this HTB’s info and I realized that it’s doors would be closing in 30 mins. I called and Betty picked up, she was completely sweet and thorough in explaining that the doors close at 9:30 but the food stays out until 10pm. Ofcourse I rushed over and made it. There is actually a pretty good selection of stuff. The salad bar was comparable to that of Soup Plantation’s. There were plenty of other unhealthy items too, which is why I went. I would say that out of my 3 plates of food. 80% of the food was delicious. I know that HTB has the reputation of being a place where only old people go eat, but I saw plenty of families and regular people enjoying a meal they didn’t have to cook. Would stop by again if I am in the area, it was clean, good, and the staff was amazingly friendly.
