Pretty decent for a long island Vietnamese restaurant. I got vermicelli with grilled pork, shrimp summer roll, and spring roll. Big portion for sure. I got 2 meals out of it and I’m a big eater. I liked the vermicelli and pork was tasty but I had better. I didn’t care for the summer roll. As another reviewer said, too much noodle inside. No flavor whatsoever. I liked the spring rolls but again I had better. I might like this place better than the spring rolls Vietnamese restaurant(I think that was the name) in Farmingdale. Well, I will go back again for vermicelli for sure since it’s close to my house.

Sorry but this phở restaurant was very disappointing. The beef in the soup was tough. Their summer rolls were packed with noodles(not that I don’t like noodles, but the ratio was way off) The vegetables in the summer rolls weren’t even right. They were cabbage. Very unauthentic phở restaurant here on long island. Unfortunately, there aren’t many good ones in long island.

CASHONLY; Slightly underwhelmed by the phở broth, but everything was fresh and authentic MENU: Shrimp Summer Rolls $ 5 — Other reviewers have praised this; not for me. Here’s a handful of cold vermicelli, a cold piece of shrimp and sliced cucumber all wrapped up? There was no flavor at all. It’s served with peanut sauce(texture of melted peanut butter), which made the bite very sweet. Overall, it was very clean and fresh, but that shrimp needed something. Phở Special $ 10 — Beware the MONSTROUSPORTION. The special has sliced fillet beef, shank beef, and beef meatballs. The flavor of the beef and the broth together was delicious. On it’s own, i found the broth a little salty and lacking in depth. The noodles were plentiful and I extremely appreciated the bean sprouts being served separately so they could remain crisp and you can control how much you add. All together, the phở was very satisfying, filling(didn’t finish it) and I would say definitely worth the price! Maxia Special $ 7 — This is the classic Bahn Mi Sandwich, my sister said it was pretty good :) Recommended: Phở Special

We ordered the pork chop over rice, noodle soup and a vermicelli dish. While the restaurant was small, the food was actually nice. My kids like the fried egg rolls with the fish sauce, the pork chop was flavorful and the portion was big enough to feed two kids. The noodle soup was actually very filling and the soup was not loaded with msg. It was Friday night, and most of the tables were taken. One big table in the middle for six. Beware that this place only take cash. I would definitely go back for more. When back and tried the beef slice noodle soup, it was so good and the broth was perfect. I wasn’t thirsty after drinking the soup. which means that there was no MSG.

Their Phở and coffee are Phở-nominal(get it) All jokes aside this place is so out of the normal in the local cuisine map but I’m so glad to stumble apon it 1 day. The service was great, nice simple décor but the soup was really really good.

Certainly one of the better Phở places out here in LI. I was quite looking forward to the trip since my last visit to a Vietnamese restaurant around here wasn’t quite successful. The location is in an older strip mall surrounded by residential area, a bit older but plenty of parking spots. Its a pretty small restaurant only about 6 – 7 tables and it was quite packed when we arrived around 7pm on a Saturday evening. The decorations are pretty simple much like many of the more traditional Vietnamese restaurants. Service was pretty good and the food came out very fast as I have come to expect for better Vietnamese food places. We tried out the following menu items Phở House Special — A nice portion sized phở for $ 9.75. They’re quite generous with the noodles but not so much with the steaks. The meat balls were quite a nice bonus touch. Personally I would have prefer beef tendons and tripe in my delicious phở but I can see they’re not exactly universally loved. Overall a good representation of their flagship phở bowl. Chicken Curry — A common dish I see at Vietnamese establishments. Here the curry sauce is quite creamy and delicious. I though the chicken were a bit too lean and hard though but still with the curry sauce they worked out well. I think I’m more used to have bit more fat and softness in the chicken. Still the sauce alone is well worth it for you to try it out. Beef Satay on Rice — This turned out to be more a curry dish than I expected. Not that its a bad thing I think it worked out well having plenty of their own peanut sauce over the beef steaks. Generous portions that we had plenty leftovers for a second meal. Very tasty overall and I left the restaurant quite full after the meal. Definitely well worth your time and money for a visit. Its a bit inconvenient that they’re cash-only out here in the suburbs but I can understand that they help to keep the costs down somewhat. This is another great example of can’t judge the restaurant by its cover.

I had to come here because I’m such a huge PHO freak ! … There’s only two places in Long Island that serve authentic Vietnamese food. This place goes hand to hand with«rolling spring roll«in farmingdale. This place the portions are«smaller. Can’t wait to dissect the menu. It’s a must place to come have phở!!!

How have I gone on without you? I’ve been trying to find a phở place comparable to what you can get in the City and I have found it! I’ve tried Rolling Spring Roll and it just didn’t hit the spot and their meats just weren’t the same. Enter Phở Maxia and my life has never been the same. At this point, I’ve been here 3 times and I have plans to go again this weekend. I’ve tried their sandwiches, 2 different phở’s and a vermicelli bowl and every single one was exactly what I wanted. Of course, it’s not going to be exactly the same, but it is so close, it might as well be a perfect substitute. I will say the porkchop isn’t exactly like what I remember, but it is still delicious and will satisfy your craving. The phở broth is tasty and the portions are huge. Super happy with this find and they haven’t let me down yet. If you’re looking for some authentic phở in the area, this is the place to go. Service is great and seems to be family run. Sorry Rolling Spring Roll, you’ve got nothing on Phở Maxia!

I went her for some traditional phở and was very disappointed as the broth did not have any flavor. Doesn’t seem like they cook it for hours as they should. If you want delicious quintessential Vietnamese phở you will have to make your way to either Syosset or Farmingdale. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

If you want better phở, I don’t really suggest this place. It is authentic but the it was just okay since there are so few authentic Asian places around. The curry was way too salty and to be honest I only tasted how much salt was in there, it had no flavor. My chicken phở was very light which was good because I don’t feel well these days, besides that there was nothing special about it. I have to really crave for phở to make me go again…

OH phở’sho! Disregard the weird car wash plastic hanging entrance, or maybe that’s authentic Vietnamese? I have no idea. Eat the shrimp spring rolls, have the Thai phở or any of the phở… It’s an extremely casual place. Cash only. Really darn good rice noodles. They move fast. My buddy ordered a chicken and veggie dish(see pictures) and I ordered the Thai phở. Both were fabulous but, mine came out about 8 – 10 minutes before his. Luckily were cool and way passed the whole, «polite friends who dine together» phase. Menu claims things are hot with a red pepper, I have found this to be untrue. I’ll be back.

When one usually thinks of food in Westbury NY, you usually don’t think of finding a Vietmanese Restaurant but Phở Maxia is a rare exception. I came to Phở Maxia on a cold cold day, Single digit temperatures, and I needed a warming Phở Soup. Unfortunately, the Phở did not really meet my expectations as the broth was a bit lackluster. It definitely body, the broth seemed to be a bit watered down. There was the typical accompaniments of bean sprouts and other fragrant herbs, but lime and jalapenos weren’t provided; I would have definitely used a lime and jalapeño to spice up my soup a bit. Phở Maxia does however, have some saving graces. The spring rolls were definitely delicious and addictive. In fact, after devouring our first order we had to order a second one. Our group also ordered the curry fish balls. While typically served on a skewer, they served the fish balls in a bowl with curry. The fishballs themselves were a bit tough and hard to chew but the curry was amazing. We liked the curry better than the fishballs themselves. It would’ve tasted great with some rice. Of note: This place is cash only!

It is so hard to find a Vietnamese place in this neighborhood, it was good just to be able to walk into this place for some phở. We had the shrimp summer roll to begin. The roll was lackluster as it was 95% rice vermicelli noodles. The sauces it was served with were all good but no fish sauce was in sight. The noodles were pretty good. I had the beef slice only and people at my table had the phở special, the standard combination of meatballs, sliced beef, and flank meat. It was a good portion for the price if you ignore the fact that you can get the same bowl for $ 5 in any metropolitan area. They gave us a separate plate of basil, sprouts, and lime to add but no cilantro. I think there was a tiny bit already sprinkled into the soup, but I love cilantro and would have preferred a stronger cilantro taste. Overall, I love phở and I don’t care to have to drive out to the city to grab a bowl of it, so this was a good place and not that pricey considering the location. Cash only, so be prepared.

I thought I found a gem in the rough but a typical Chinese owned Vietnamese restaurant. I am sure there are great Chinese that can cook great Vietnamese food. But this restaurant is lacking. The phở was average and lacking major spices that gives the phở the aroma and flavor. Second, very small for the price they were charging. The papaya salad was another failure no flavor. If you don’t want to venture out to Queens I guess this restaurant can get a pass.

11/27/15-we needed a quick lunch but I wanted something GOOD. Bahn mi came to my mind. And I thought, I’m in new york for goodness sake, I should be able to find one here… and I did. Phở Maxia is not a Vietnamese bakery, so, they can’t deliver a bahn mi with the fresh baguette that I makes for a A+ bahn mi, but they came pretty darn close. They also didn’t have a some of the bahn mi options I am accustomed to like egg and tofu. They had something called grilled hash pork which was artfully seasoned balls of meat with the typical fixings of cilantro, pickled veggies, mayo, cucumber mashed between the lips of a crispy baguette. perfection. The service was pleasant, but the food was long coming out. The drink options paltry: water, soda, vietnamese coffee. The place was immaculate but dimly lit and sadly decorated. Price was a bit high since bahn mi’s are usually $ 4 – 5 and usually run with a sale of $ 10 for 3+ sandwiches. We also tried some very under seasoned underportioned shrimp summer(there were 99% noodles with 1 half shrimp in a rice paper wrapping) although the peanut dipping sauce went a long way to try and save it. I would get order bahn mi’s here again… and i’d come back to try their phở but mostly b/c there are no other such places in westbury area.

This Vietnamese Restaurant is indeed a gem. Wonderful service and delicious food. Prices are very affordable too! A must try in Westbury, specially now that the winter is approaching. They their Curry Chicken Noodles! You will be happy you did. It is a little bit spicy, but as someone who doesn’t liek spicy, it was doable. Also, try their hot coffee after your meal. Make sure you bring cash.

Their special phở was flavorful hot and yummy. The green papaya salad was fresh and yummy, a bit on the sweet side for my taste. The spring rolls on top of rice noodle was also good and plentiful. The ‘angel hair’ noodle is a make your own summer roll was delicious and plentiful and highly recommended if you know how to roll your own rice paper. The place was nicely decorated and clean, the staff was friendly. They did give always our reserved table for 10 so we had to wait(sort of both the party and the place’s fault; the place asked if they made reservations instead of asking for their name and the party lied and said yes) The only thing I didn’t like was I thought the price was a bit high for the food. But not over the top.

I was excited to hear that this is the 2nd Vietnamese restaurant in Long Island. I had to try this place out with my cousin. I like going in a Vietnamese restaurant and actually know Vietnamese people are working there. Bring able to speak my language in a Vietnamese restaurant just makes it feel more authentic. We ordered the chicken sandwich which I loved. The phở was very tasty. i don’t know why people say it’s flavorless because you can taste the flavors well. Maybe it’s people who usually easy Chinese food which is usually loaded with salty ingredients, that are calling Vietnamese food bland. The broth was good and not loaded with msg. Nothing compared to Vietnam or California but it is definitely good for NY. A bit on the salty side. The Banh Hoi Bo Lui was very food but second time around I realized why I drank 3 bottles of water afterwards… salty. The spring roll is how my mom used to make it. I like the wrap they use unlike at phở bang. The summer roll used different pork to stuff it and didn’t have the shrimp in it. It was ok. The shrimp spring roll was ok too. As for service… the first time we went there was only one table filed at first so we had great service. The place is tiny. This time around it was very busy and one of the waiter(there are only 2) looked annoyed everytime we asked for something… like water, chopsticks, lettuce, napkins. My vietnamese friend wasn’t impressed with the service or food but I still liked it. Overall it beats going to Flushing or Chinatown bc I hate parking there.

This place is small! As you walk in, you’ll only see a handful of tables… definitely a wait during busier times. The servers are very nice and polite and service is speedy. The phở is just okay, the flavor of the broth is too bland for me and I always have to add extra sauce into my bowl. It’s not the best I’ve had but it does come out hot! The summer rolls were okay and so were the grilled pork chops. 3 — 3.5 stars across the board
