MGM Hair Studio & Day Spa

I read really good reviews for MGM and decided to visit. I was actually in town for just one day and desperately needed a cut and color but hadn’t found a good place. I walked in to MGM and Amela was nice enough to squeeze me in between clients. She has a warm, inviting demeanor that immediately puts one at ease. She understood what I wanted from my color (gray coverage, subtle brown balyage highlights) followed by layered cut. She did a fantastic job on all aspects, cut and color, while being very easy get along with. You can tell she loves what she does. I’ll be coming back to her for future cut and color whenever I’m in town and recommending her to all family and friends in the area!

Needed to find a place to get my hair done for my son’s wedding. Sunday of Memorial Day weekend! Called MGM Hair Studio, and they said sure! I was a little nervous being that it was for such a special occasion, that I had a particular look that I wanted to achieve, and had never been there. Amela worked like an artist creating a masterpiece! Before I knew it, my hair was beautiful, and I felt like a million bucks. I was able to look gorgeous for my son’s wedding. I received so many positive complements! I will definitely be going back to MGM and Marks in the future.

I just got my hair done at this salon and I have to say Amela did a great job on my hair. I got it cut and had balayage done. Considering this was my first time here everybody was very nice and the atmosphere was very laid back. Love that they offer you something to drink, that’s always a plus. They also have a spa area but I haven’t been down there to give a review. Will have to check that out next time.
The prices here are pretty reasonable. I will definitely be returning. Love my hair!

Really happy I found MGM! My hair was a mess so I did some research and found this place on Unilocal.After reading the great reviews I decided to make an appointment and I’m glad I did. Rafina was my stylist and she did a really good job with my color and blowout. Overall I really love MGM, the staff was really nice and friendly and the prices are great. I definitely recommend this place!

I had a bad color job done in Queens and MGM saved my hair. These ladies were so hospitable and made me so happy. I would recommend this place to every and anyone!

Went there today in the afternoon without an appointment, they took me in. I wanted to dye my hair red but I asked Mel for suggestion and I love it. We did the hair painting which is a great alternative to highlights. Nobleaching required. No heat. The outcome is a subtle color, natural-​looking. She even managed to cut my hair and dry/​style it even with limited time. I love the service, the outcome. Mel is awesome! Parking is limited though

Went to Amela this weekend for color and a blowout… she is a master colorist and gives fantastic blowouts. She is also a master with her scissors! A kind and warm person too! I highly recommend her as a stylist and her overall salon and day spa! A+ service!

I recently switched to MGM hair studio and it was a great decision! I read some reviews on Unilocal and Google and decided to book an appointment with Amela. She asked what I wanted and she came up with the perfect color. Getting my hair done at my old salon was taking hours and hours but that isn’t the case at MGM. My hair is done much quicker now! Not only does Amela do beautiful coloring, she also does blowouts which are the best! My hair always looks so awesome when I’m done, much better than any other salon I’ve ever been to. Oh, and the icing on the cake is MGM’s prices are cheaper than most salons! Amela and the staff are sweethearts, I definitely recommend MGM!

I moved to this area almost a year ago and it has been inconvenient to travel back to queens for a cut. After searching Unilocal for salons around me I decided to try mgm for a cut and bayalage. I couldn’t be happier with the results! Dafina did the color and was very meticulous. Amela did my cut and style. Absolutely amazing! The entire staff was so nice and made me feel right at home. I sent pictures of my hair to a friend in queens and she wants to make an appointment at mgm to fix her ombré. Thanks mgm!!! I love it

Recently went here after reading all the great reviews. I have never colored my hair before and decided on a whim to just go for it! I cannot be more happy with how Megan did my hair ! :-) She was very kind and was personable. She was very attentive to what I was looking for and the look came out perfect! I will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable hair place.

Easter weekend. My long time go-​to hair salon and stylist who I followed from her previous employ screwed me over. Suddenly I didn’t have an appointment that I had made 6 weeks earlier. My Saturday was filled with errands scheduled around my haircut. I now had to rush last minute to find a salon for a haircut. We all know how totally stressful that can be. Enter Amela who saved the day.
I called late Friday afternoon and she was able to fit me in at 9AM the next morning due to a last minute cancellation. Something tells me I would have been fit in even if they were booked solid. That’s just the vibe I got from the staff. To make a long story short, the nicest people, no pretension, a GREAT cut and blow and kind words from Amela when I told her my tale of woe. She saved my vacation and a very important meeting I had that following Monday morning.
And I traveled all the way from Queens! Thank you! Go. You will not be disappointed!

This place is seriously a life saver. I can’t praise Amelia and Megan enough! My hair was a blonde disaster done at a different salon, and the hair goddesses saved my life. I went to Megan for my highlights and hair cut. I just loved the highlights/​cut and it came out exactly how I wanted. My friend got the highlights/​cut from Amela and she was as good as Megan. The staff was so nice and took care of us. We both had a great experience and will be definitely going back to her. I also referred few friends and family.

I have been waiting quite a while to try this salon, upon a recommendation from my cousin who always has the best color. So glad I finally went. Decided on ombré for the winter to give my very much processed blonde hair a break. Amela did my color, cut, and blowout. It looks and feels amazing. My hair has never looked so good! And for someone like me who doesn’t like to spend hours in a hair salon the process was very smooth and only took about an hour. Price was right also!

I’ve been coming here for about a year and a half now (since I moved to Long Island from Queens). Dafina is my go-​to girl. She has cut, styled and colored my hair and I always leave there happy. I’ve sent a few of my friends to Dafina and they were just as happy as me. Glad I found this place!

Great salon with great staff! My tween daughters LOVE Megan, she’s so sweet with them and takes the time to really listen to what they want and like. Their hair always looks amazing after Megan has styled it.

Amela styled my hair for a wedding and it came out fabulous! I had random people coming up to me asking where I got it done. She prepped my extensions the day before the wedding so they would already be curled prior to my appointment the next morning, and she worked very quickly while still doing an amazing job. In the past I’ve had Megan for a blowout who did a great job as well and makes good conversation. All of the staff I’ve come across is super friendly and don’t stand around gossiping all day like other salons I’ve been to. Price list is reasonable and I love that it is close to home.
