I ate here last night and was sick all night. Today I don’t feel so good either. I am convinced this restaurant uses MSG in their food. Government regulations on food does not require restaurants to disclose this to patrons. On a positive note the atmosphere seemed fun!

Came here with a friend at about 2pm on 5÷15÷2016. Was immediately seated in the restaurant which was 99% empty. I ordered the Chimichanga which was a bit bland. My friend ordered the Chipotle chicken with Pasta and said the chicken was dry. When we received our drinks, both Cokes, we finished them rather quick. The waitress passed several times and never stopped to give a refill. When she came with the food, she reached over our empty glasses to put the food on the table and walked away. Another ten minutes until we finally got refills. I probably will not be back.

Love this place, been going here for such a long time, now I come here with my husband and son… The manager Ruben is always great… They also have great margarita and fajitas.

I am writing this review as I sit at my table. Let’s starts off with the super rude hostess. When we asked for a table close to the window, her response was«well obviously there are no tables right now,» even after we told her we would wait. Then when we were called to be seated, we got sat next to the bathroom in the corner. Our waitress brought us a bowl of crushed chips, legit looked like confetti. We got plates 20 min after being seated. No water was ever brought over. This is all before any food has actually been brought out. I will update this review if the food is stellar, otherwise, assume we will never be back. ****Had the food. It’s pretty good but the service really really needs to improve!!! Increased the rating from 1 to 3****

Well, since our uncomfortable experience, this establishment contacted us and has been more than courteous. I want to say that they have truly done the right thing. And that holds a lot of value. Because a business that cares about your review and wants to improve deserves your patronage. Thank you. We will be back. And we will tell our friends of our positive experience.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant!!! I’ve been to it a couple times n every time we get seated right away. The service is great and the staff is so friendly. Every time I go I order the appetizer sampler simply because I’m indecisive n it never lets me down. The spinach quesadilla is my favorite. Of course if you come here you just NEED to get the margarita sampler. It’s what they are known for and it does not disappoint. I love everything about this restaurant. You won’t regret coming here.

Came here on a Monday night with my boyfriend. We ordered the sampler off the appetizer menu and it was very good. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice as well. I love Mexican food so I enjoyed it very much. They had a wall of frozen margaritas in different flavors which I will definitely be trying the next time I come. Our waitress was also very sweet and attentive. The only downfall of this place would be the bathrooms. There is a lot that needs to be updated from a sanitary perspective as well as regular tlc from janitors. There was tissue everywhere. Not very appealing for a place that goes so hard to stand out. It has such great potential to be a go to in the summer like Cabo in Rockville Centre.

I walked in for lunch because a coworker recommended it for about a month straight. I’ve never been before. The service was quick and we were done with enough time to get back to work during our 45 min break. This is a place is great for drinks. The food is eh. I’ve tried the chimichanga and the seafood enchiladas. Both came with rice and beans. They were filling and okay tasting. For the price you’re better off going to a bodega.

We came for drinks during a playoff hockey game. We were just REALLY craving margaritas due to the weather finally being nice. We were surprised how quiet the place was on a Sunday night but it was a nice change. I loved the row of spinning frozen margaritas in the back of the bar. Free chips and salsa are always a plus! Bartender was nice and gave us the heads up we could get the same amount of guac cheaper if we just ordered the side compared to the tableside. While the place doesn’t have a ton of TV’s for watching sports, we had a good time with some decent margaritas. I’d like to come back one night to try some real food!

I was supposed to go to another restaurant, but it had an hour wait so my friend and I decided to go somewhere else, which happened to bring us to this place. We were eating and having fun when all of a sudden, I decided to open up my taco– don’t know why, don’t ask. And when I opened it, there was a bug. A BUG. ANINSECTWITHWINGSINTHETACO I WASEATING. I wasn’t sure it was a bug, so I kind of crushed it a bit with my fork. and it crunched. I couldn’t even stomach it anymore and went to the bathroom to throw up. Don’t go to this place. The waiter wasn’t so nice either. He didn’t even come by to see how we were doing. It took a half an hour to get the check alone. So it was just me. and the bug. just waiting for some waitstaff who were nowhere to be found. This place is the definition of oblivious and tired short staffed workers. I will never come near this place again.

Cozymels is an average casual dining restaurant. Think Applebees but with Mexican food. The inside is starting to look dated and worn but the tables are comfortably spaced and it has a large bar area. Chips and salsa brought to the table were good, the salsa nicely spiced. Appetizer of queso was good, typical, but good with the same chips. Enchiladas were good with one ground beef, one chicken and one pork. All were pretty good but as some places do, the plate was steaming hot, the food not hot enough giving away the fact that it was reheated. Rice was good, refried beans and bad example of the dish. Bland mush. Quesadilla was standard stuff and kids grilled chicken the usual fare. Dessert of Banana pudding was not good and had to be sent back. Cinnamon wafer layers were stale, hard and inedible and the dish was taken off the bill. All in all it was an average to slightly below average meal but I gave a generous three stars because two was a bit too low.

We were planning to go to Chili’s as we were driving through the area but there was a half hour wait, so we ended up here. We were seated immediately and they gave us chips and salsa. As someone who can’t handle spicy food, the salsa was perfect for me. We didn’t get anything to drink, but the water had just the right amount of lemon. Stephani was our server and she was amazing. She clearly knew what she was doing. She was extremely attentive and let me know that there were pinto beans inside my chimichanga and refried beans with my rice on the plate if I wanted to switch one of them out. As soon as we finished ordering, we got a fresh, hot batch of chips and salsa, which was really impressive. The food came out at light speed. I thought they gave us someone else’s food because there was no way they could have made it that fast. It turns out they actually had mine right, but brought someone else’s tacos to my boyfriend, who ordered nachos. They brought him the correct dish immediately, though. I’m by no means a Tex Mex connoisseur, but the chimichanga was tasty. The carnitas had good flavor and there was a great crisp on the tortilla. The refried beans were fantastic. If I’m ever in the area again, I’m definitely coming back.

Not impressed so far. The hostess made us wait while she was texting on her phone. The salsa and chips leave a lot to be desired: the salsa had no flavor and the chips aren’t fresh. They taste like they’ve been sitting around for a while. I had hopes that at least the food would be good and was disappointed. Although the food came promptly, that’s the only positive thing I can really say about the entire dining experience. I had the shredded chicken tamales. The sauce was extremely hot(spicy) so I had to scrape it off the tamales. What remained was 90% corn and 10% chicken. The chicken wasn’t shredded as described, but was cut into very small pieces. The rice was crunchy and the beans were runny with a slight sour taste. I’m pretty sure this was a «one and done» experience and won’t return.

Came here on a Friday night after the movies and we were seated quickly. Our table side guacamole and queso were delicious. My fish tacos could’ve used a tad bit more salt, but were good none the less. Do yourself a favor and try the fried ice cream. YUM! Our waitress was also extremely kind and attentive!

Have been here many times with my daughter over the past few years. Food is consistently fresh and service is always fast and friendly. A good staple for straight-ahead Mexican food. The table side guacamole is fresh and clean with or without whatever you specify.

Very yummy — sad to be moving only a few days after trying this place out for the first time! Happening and busy restaurant — right in Westbury by the movie theater and Target. Yummy food too. The chimichanga and chicken tacos were very good, but the table side guac was the absolute best! Highly recommended to anyone looking for quality Mexican food at a decent price.

Seated quickly on a Saturday, unusual for the neighborhood. I almost felt like there was a race going on, as the chips arrived quickly and we were asked for our drinks, appetizers and main course in almost the same sentence. The chips are great, my beer was terrific. We started with the beefy nachos. Oh my god, I couldn’t even chew the meat — it was pure fat. The chips were soggy and the cheese bland. This one opening dish ruined the whole meal. The waitress, who was«very efficient«had no personality — made us feel like we were talking to a robot. She never suggested switching out the disgusting nachos after I brought it to her attention. We had our main courses wrapped up after barely touching them(maybe we could add seasoning at home) and spoke to the manager about what happened. He apologized profusely and didn’t charge for the nachos, but he seemed more frightened than sorry. Won’t be back.

Ate there the other night with my wife, and 2 kids. We’ve eaten there before and had no issues. This time, my wife ordered a cheese quesadilla wife spinach and onion. Made sure to entice she cannot have mushrooms, due to an allergy to it. Nachos weren’t bad. The boys had basic food(taco and mac n cheese). My meal wasn’t bad. Wife had a «slice» of quesadilla, with no issues. Upon eating another piece, she noticed she ate something that wasn’t right. She spit out a mushroom. Advised the waiter, who immediately went to the manager, and kitchen. With multiple apologies, the waiter seemed quite concerned. The manager, came over and apologized. Explained that the veggies are separated on the grill from all the other food. Still, how did a mushroom make it into her food? We got 2 discount cards, and her meal was removed from the check. The rest of us were pretty much done. Paid the check, tipped the waiter, who was still apologetic, and still concerned. Never had any issues anytime I’ve been there. May go back, but not for awhile. Still not sure how something made it into a meal even though it shows on the order to not be in there.

Not what I expected. The food wasn’t great, I got a chicken quesadilla and it just wasn’t as good as the ones I’ve had in the past. The chicken inside was okay and it was stuffed with too much lettuce and peppers. The Guacamole was also least to be desired. And guacamole is something I’m big on ! But was disappointed with it. I’m used to better Mexican food. The only good thing I can say about here is the drinks are really good and my dessert which was a ice cream churro sandwich was also very good. The waiter was very nice and friendly but majority of the time we needed him we had to flag him down. I probably will not be back in the future.

Went 10/30/2015 had the Shrimp & steak fajita which was $ 18 the Cinco Sampler $ 12& my bf had the chicken breast Alfredo I believe was like $ 17. I enjoyed my food & it’s a great portion that I only ate about 75% of it. The Cinco sampler all flavors were great my favorite was the Clasico, Raz Rita, & Patron. My bf’s favorite was the blue peach(it was the strongest one) reminds me of a blue Long Island. Our waiter was nice we got seated right away when we entered & even though we got there about a ½ an hour before they closed they didn’t rush us at all. I was just a little upset that they only gave me three shrimps & a whole bunch of onions.

Ate here with a friend on Sunday Oct. 18, 2015 at 1:30PM. The restaurant was empty. First warning sign: when we walked into the women’s bathroom, the floor in the stalls were wet from urine, and stray, wet toilet paper was all over. I ordered the Seafood Enchiladas los Cabos, which is supposed to have shrimp and lump crab. It comes with rice and black beans. The portion size was small. But worse, the dish was tasteless. My companion ordered the Tamales. Being a chef who cooks Mexican food, she couldn’t figure out how you could take all the flavor out of Tamales. My friend ordered a traditional Margarita, and had to ask for more Tequila. No taste of alcohol in her drink. Bottom line: The two of us were sick as dogs the rest of the day, and we paid mightily for the privilege! I called at around 6PM to inform the manager, who offered me free passes. I said No Thanks. I’ll never walk in there again. Even for free. Eat here at you and your stomach’s peril…

Cozymel’s Mexican Grill. Went a few times and usually enjoyed it, great Flautas but, I was let down with a couple dishes and a small portion of the service, all in all decent.

Just left and so disappointed… I used to come here a lot and I hadn’t come in a couple years. Everything seem to have changed. The menu changed they used to have so much on their menu now it’s a small menu. The food sucked! So bland felt like it had no season what so ever. I felt like we were rushed in and out I went me and my boyfriend and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes like I felt like we were being rushed. Not fun and not coming back again

Honestly a decent place. Atmosphere is nice. Good service when my wife and I came in for lunch. Not packed by anymeans. Food was alright. The salsa was pretty good. Came with warm tortilla chips which was nice. I got the fish tacos. These were delicious. It came with a choice of blacked, grilled, or fried. To stay safe I went with fried. I like textures so this was great. The tenderness of the fish, the crunch of the raw slaw, the Tanginess of the sauce, the softness of the corn tortilla. It all was amazing. I loved it. Next time I will get brave and order blackened but the taco was pretty darn good. My wife got a combination platter. It had a chicken tamale, empanada, and shredded beef taco on it. The only thing I really liked on her plate was her taco. Her empanada was very pasty. It had this red hot sauce over the chicken which actually bothered me. I dislike pork and I believe the tamale had sausage in it. This portion is subjective so take it with a grain of salt. I disliked the tamale. You will have to try it yourself, buy the sausage was just too overwhelming. The Yucatan rice was good. The beans are nothing to write home The price wasn’t too bad. At time of purchase the 3 fish tacos were $ 14 with Yucatan rice and beans. The combination platter with Yucatan. Rice and beans was $ 13. A little expensive for Mexican food but not in respect to the surrounding restaurants in the area.

So my friend decided to have her birthday dinner here definitely not the best decision she ever made. I looked at the reviews on here knew it wasn’t good but didn’t want to discourage my friend because she was set on coming here since she said she had been there before and the food was great. We sat outside which I liked because it looked like we were actually on vacation in Mexico. Our waiter Tom was great he really tried his best to try to make all of us happy even though that was pretty much an impossible task. The food comes out looks great I got the combination shrimp and chicken tacos which was good just a little bland not really any taste so I refused to eat it till I got some hot sauce. Then my friends got mojitos that had zero alcohol in it well at least that’s how it tasted. The last straw was the desserts the brownie with ice cream had some weird taste(I Think nutmeg) and was super dry. The churro ice cream sandwich also tasted like it wasn’t cooked enough either. Again the customer service was great but the cooks and the bartenders need to be replaced.

Mediocre foods and drinks. The service is a hit or miss. I love the outdoor seating(more places need this!) and the happy hour specials. If you’re looking for amazing Mexican food, I’d go elsewheres.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for about 10 years. It was a midway point for me and my best friend in HS so even to this day, we come here a few time a year and always end up stuffing ourselves silly and enjoying a few margs before heading to a moving at raceway. When you walk into this restaurant, the atmosphere is always lively and fun. The margaritas aren’t fresh(you can tell they’re made from a mix) but they are strong and giant! I always start with a queso(yum!) and get a pick 3 combo with a chicken enchilada, crispy beef taco and chicken flauta. It’s served with rice and refried beans so you will leave this place FULL if you finish you entire meal. It’s not gonna win any awards for exotic flavors, but the food, price and service are solid for a chain restaurant and this place is now a throwback get together for me and my girls so I’ll always love it!

This Mexican restaurant is such a gem! They give you free chips and salsa beforehand, and if you order guacamole with it they’ll make it from scratch in front of your table for you. They have a wide selection of drinks — I especially recommend the Mango Margarita or the Skinny Margarita(if you’re looking to cut back on the alcholic calories)! I usually order the Chicken Fajita Salad or the Chicken Fajita plate(I like fajitas huh?) and they’re both delectable. I always crush the whole thing every time. The service is quick, even when they’re packed and the wait staff is very friendly. I’ve gone to this restaurant on dates, with big groups, and with my family. It’s a great atmosphere for any occasion, reasonably priced, and delicious!
