Great diverse neighborhood pub. Fantastic place to have good conversation with close friends or strangers. Definite cheers vibe.

About a year ago I took a new job in Westbrook. So I no longer had the luxury of Portland offering me so many options for a post work drink with co-​workers. So I will admit I came to Westbrook with the notion that nothing would really suit me. I have been wrong on many counts about that & Thatcher’s is one of the examples.
If you want to have a drink with a couple friends at a very reasonable price, then come to Thatcher’s in Westbrook. During happy hour you can order the «Mystery Pint» for $ 2. The staff is always very friendly. I have not really tried any food, but it looks like standard pub far (no fries though). It is a perfect place for a quick beer post work to unwind from a busy day. I like ordering the mystery pint, because it is almost always a really decent beer, from Geary’s summer ale to Newcastle. And it is $ 2! So when a co-​worker asks to have a post work beer, $ 2 is the perfect budget! (Do make sure to bring a tip as well though, don’t be that guy!).

I stop in here every now and then to have a cold beverage and hang out with friends. The staff is always very friendly and service is fast. I have yet to try the food here, but it appears to be rather typical pub fair and from what I have seen other people be served it looks very good! They have many large flat screen TVs and always have the popular sports events on. This is a very comfortable place to have a drink after work and unwind.
