I love Carter’s cute-and-cuddly clothing and their near constant sales(NEVER pay full price, people!). Their clothes hold up well enough to last 2 or 3 hand-downs and are stretchy enough to fit cloth diapers which have a tendency to be bulkier than disposables. Need to exchange that adorable jammy set from Mémère that is a size too small? No problem. You can exchange it for a different size or get store credit — no matter when the item was purchased. Say WHAT? Yep, there’s no «90-day return policy» here. The associates are super helpful about it, too. They go out of their way to find the item for you(since they seem to know EXACTLY where everything is in this place) and let you know what sizes they have available. This new Westbrook/Portland location is especially awesome because it means that I don’t need to drive up to Freeport to scour the clearance racks(though you can find many of the new items in this store just across the parking lot at Kohl’s). My only real problem with this location is mobility-related: There isn’t a stroller ramp in front of the door(really?), and the shop is so tiny that there’s no room to push said stroller(and it isn’t a large enough store to merit the time it takes to transfer an infant to a body carrier).
