I called and got in right away on a Saturday for a color correction from another place. The moment I arrived they greeted me with a smile, offered beverages while I waited for about 10 minutes, not bad on a Saturday! They color came out great and they even did a small cut of shaping my hair. The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 star, I had 3 different people work with me. 1 colored hair, 2 washed it and 3rd trimmed & styled. If you want 1 person to do everything you need to specifically say that. Other than that great place!

Be careful of the prices. They charge $ 10 extra for blowdrying long hair.

I had a wonderful experience today at True Salon with Julianna and Nicole. I woke up with a desperate need for change in color, style and a mental escape from winter doldrums. From the minute I walked in they greeted me with a smile, took my coat and offered me coffee, tea or water. I waited maybe 30 seconds for Nicole to free up, she took me to her chair for a consultation. She had great suggestions on how to spice up the color and ideas for my cut. They have a unique team environment here that works amazing. She introduced me to Julianna who handled the color process. They got me started with a fabulous hot towel on my neck, smock and I was off to the sink. Everything from the pre-color treatment, color, head massage/hair wash through to the cut and style was beyond relaxing and wonderful! I truly can’t wait to go back!

I have been a client at True Salon for almost 3 years. Every time I go into True it feels lively and fun. The stylists are so creative and friendly and work with you on what you’d like to achieve. They are up on the latest trends and products. All in all, an excellent experience!

I went to true for a couple of years for hair services including color and cuts. The best part about them is their open hours. Loved that I could go on a weeknight after work and usually without much notice. I also really liked how you weren’t stuck with 1 stylist and it was accepted and encouraged for you to see any of the stylists. Many of the stylists were quite nice. The problem I have is with their booking policy. You can book with a specific stylist only to be changed to another stylist without asking you. Since many of the stylists were good, that would normally be fine, but not to send you to a brand new stylist and charge you the same amount. I asked many stylists there for tips on styling curly hair and it seemed like no one had a clue. Many products were heavily encouraged but they never seemed like a match for my hair type so I question how much they were trained on the various product lines sold there. It’s almost worth the aggravation of going to a salon with more limited availability just to get good service.

This salon doesn’t even deserve a 1 star rating. If there was a 0 that’s what I would score.. Way over priced. The staff are very high strung and don’t really know what there talking about.. It’s a salon not a salon in Beverly hills. .get a reality check

I’ve been going to True for the past 3 years. After using box dye on my hair and having a horrible time getting back my blonde highlights and bad experiences at other salons, I had received a gift certificate from a friend who spoke highly of True. Ever since then I have only trusted Meaghan A. with my full foil, long layered cut every 3 – 4 months(I tend to stretch it out). Before I met Meaghan, I had had two other stylists do my hair and they were also great! True has a teamwork philosophy which I think is pretty cool. I can’t even tell you how often people ask where I go and who does my hair; constantly receiving compliments on my highlights. Needless to say I am overdue and anxious to get in Meaghan’s chair very soon!

I always have a great experience at True. I have been going here for years now and I have never had a bad hair cut, color or even wax. Great service.

I feel guilty writing this review because I essentially got a free haircut at True Salon in a Welcome Package I received in the mail when I moved to Shrewsbury. I was a little hesitant to take them up on the offer but I’m trying to save some money since I am now staying home with my son. But I learned a huge lesson in getting a free haircut– sadly, you get what you pay for. Everyone I came into contact with at the salon was very cordial and I only waited a few minutes for my appointment once I arrived. My stylist consulted with me, washed my hair with a gloriously scented shampoo, and then proceeded to give me one of the longest haircuts of my life. All was fine until I was checking out and felt longer hairs hanging down than should have been. I had the stylist cut these few strands and then came home to realize the other side was uneven so I had to resort to cutting my own hair to make it even with my husband’s shears. Yes, he cuts his own hair and when I tried to do it, I was so horrible that I don’t want to cut my own hair. Four days later and I’m still finding uneven strands of hair in random spots. It looks like I’ll have to go get another haircut elsewhere very soon.

For a long time, I had gotten by without paying too much attention to my hair. I was used to going to Supercuts and Great Cuts, walking in, waiting forever and hoping that it wasn’t my hair dresser’s first day on the job! One day, a couple of years ago, I decided that was too much of a gamble and began searching for a new salon. I stumbled upon True in Westborough. Kerri, my stylist, suggested a new hair style for me and has been maintaining it ever since. I have been very happy with the service at True and especially with Kerri, cause she’s awesome! Even after having moved away from the area, I do not mind going a little bit out of my way for my haircut. The salon is clean and modern. They always offer you water, coffee or tea. There is a wireless network you can use and even some computers that customers use to surf the web when they have long hair treatments done. Of course, I don’t have to wait because I always have an appointment scheduled.

Listen to the RIPPEDOFFREVIEWS, TOTALLYTRUE. I just moved to area, and the salon few doors down from True recommended True for color, said they didn’t do color. I got a quote of 74 dollars for my one process, you see I have grey coming in, and I wanted to cover the grey. I have hair just below shoulders. I never imagined walking out with a bill of 127 dollars. I asked her about it and she said because my grey roots were 2 inches long, not one inch she had to charge me an extra 32 dollars for more color. I have never experienced a hairdresser going in the back to make more color. I have had my hair color for ever, and never experienced anyone having to make more, total LIE to add more to the bill. So my charges were one process 42. New Client 38.00 Extra color 32.00 and eyebrow waxed 15.00, total 127. And the eyebrows were not that great but the color was nice. She layered my hair, the top layer a little too long looks a little off.

I had the most wonderful partial foil and hair cut today at trUe salon today. Molly did an absolutely amazing job in taking her time and explaining to me why she was doing what she was and how I could care for my new highlights. My hair looks fabulous, is soft and silky and I booked my next appt for 6 weeks from now. I would really recommend this place over and over. I took manfriend with me and because he’d never been, his haircut was free(score!) because I had basically referred him(when I actually made him haha). Really, I would take the poor reviews below with a grain of salt… they were a long time ago.

TOTALRIPOFF. I was scoping out the salon for a possible hair cut, so I decided to get my eyebrows waxed… thankfully I opted out of a hair cut, and what a rip off. I spent $ 20 dollars on horribly waxed eyebrows that I ended up re-shaping, tweaking, and plucking myself afterwards. Thankfully, whoever did my brows, didn’t take much off, but it was not worth the $ 20. I only intended to give a 2 dollar tip, which I felt was generous, and the woman working in the front basically refused to give me dollar bills, and I was forced to give this«stylist» a $ 5 tip for THEWORST eye brow job. I am several months and eye brow waxes away from this experience with them, and yet I still felt the strong need to relay this message. I was so turned off by this experience– — I absolutely detest when people try to swindle $$ for a job that was not well done. Buyer beware.

Westborough location: While their stylists generally do a good job, their customer service is atrocious. When you make your appointment make sure to double and triple check that they put you down for the correct time, because if you arrive even ten minutes late? Best case, they will have cancelled your appointment and won’t have time to take you again(even for a quick cut) until the following Tuesday. Even if there’s like 1 other customer in the entire place. Worst case they will actually yell at YOU for wasting their precious time. Excuse me, True, but you’re a low-mid priced salon in a strip mall in Westborough. A little respect, please.
