I have a satellite location in my office building right next to the actual NY deli. The worker is great, pleasant, and has allowed me to take my soup when my debit card wouldn’t work and I paid him the next morning first thing. He is what makes me go there for the overpriced food. My sandwich was great, but a bulkie roll sandwich with 1 piece of cheese for almost 9 bucks? Rip off. The soup is great– but its a small cup is 3 bucks– fairly priced. But overall so expensive for ordinary food.

Accurate lunch order of sandwiches to-go for our group of eight… The $ 7.59 chicken melt roll-up on a wheat wrap(grilled chicken, peppers, onions, mushrooms and melted provolone) was made of fresh ingredients. The $ 2.79 Odwalla Strawberry C monster smoothie tasted good. This beverage was no GMO, not from concentrate, and 300 calories per bottle. The restaurant has been owned and operated by Andy and Lisa Palumbo. Andy is an experienced Culinary Institute of America graduate. The business has been offering catering services and deliveries.

Since moving to Westborough I’ve been to the NY Deli about 12 times and for some reason I expect it will get better, but it doesn’t. We live close-by and none of our friends or neighbors ever goes to the deli because of the high cost/poor food quality. The biggest problem is the owner, who has no clue about how to run a deli or a business. 1. Strange rules and not customer-friendly. Order an iced tea at the counter and the owner walks across the store, places the beverage nowhere near the register and tells you to walk down and get it. Not horrible, but weird. Want to pay for your order while you wait for your sandwich? Sorry, can’t do that — a dismissive hand wave while the owner talks to an employee is the response. He’s got rules and you’re going to follow them. Any modification or addition yields an abusive up-charge, as mentioned in other reviews. This isn’t normal. 2. Price/Quality. I don’t have any problem with high prices if the food quality is high, but you’re paying top dollar for mediocre provisions. The pastrami is low-caliber mess and heated up in a microwave. You could buy an entire turkey for what they charge for a small roast turkey sandwich. If you’re in the food service business and you can’t balance quality and price, even if you’ve lasted for 20 years, you’re probably not making much money. The formula isn’t that hard. 3. When the cats away, the mice play. On two occasions when I’ve was fortunate enough to visit the deli while the owner wasn’t there, there was no use of the register and my payment was pocketed by the employee. Didn’t seem like a member of the family but even if it is that’s another place where margin disappears. Don’t make margin? Charge more! After the last visit I’ll never go again and it’s a shame since a well-run deli would generate a lot of business in town. Go elsewhere.

Ranked #1 on my favorite sandwich place, near work and perhaps within the greater Boston area. This personal, family owned, hospitable restaurant which doubles as a mini-sized NYC(because of the distinctly New Yorkish decors) have an extensive menu that trumps many of the bigger establishments, and they really really really got their sandwiches right. The sandwiches here are not slathered with sauce, instead the original taste of the ingredients are prominent and distinguishable. Consequently, you know that everything is super fresh because it doesn’t hide behind the layers after layers of sauce. They also have just about every type of snacks, chips and drinks you would ever want to go with your sandwich. The bonus is that they make a mean chicken chopped liver sandwich, I still remember my surprise when I found it on the menu, ordered it with a slight doubt, and devoured it(without exaggeration) soon after I had the first bite. The portions are generous, textures are great, and it is light while being extremely tasty. The efficiency is also fascinating, they take your order — write down on a casual piece of paper, pass it along, and within minutes you hear your name called, grab whatever snacks or drinks and pay at the register. The personal touch with the paper is important, because well, it is uniquely personal.

Breakfast sandwiches here are incredible. Freshly cracked eggs and cooked to perfection. I came here for lunch because I was so impressed with the breakfast and got a steak and cheese. One of the best I’ve had in a while. I have heard the pulled pork sandwich is delicious and plan on getting that next

The food here is really good if you like deli sandwiches and soups… I love the pasta salad and potato salad as well… They don’t deliver past a certain time because they only have one delivery person. The lady who answers the phone seems pretty rude but she’s not. It’s because it gets extremely busy in there… They should probably hire more people to help out during rush hour time which is usually lunch… But like i said the food is why i go back.

Eh, I can’t really bring myself to buy anything here anymore. It’s not that good and there are cheaper/better options nearby. If I get it for free at work I’ll eat it, so its not like the food is actively bad.

I pass this place all the time on my way to work and decided to pop in and try it. It’s really good! They have a variety of different sandwiches, salads and soups. There are also baked goods that I haven’t tried but they look delicious. I got a breakfast sandwich today and it was pretty big for just a bagel with ham, cheese and egg. I really like this place and will be stopping by again for sure!

This place is pretty good. I work down the street so I’ve been here a handful of times. I usually get the cracked pepper bacon and Cajun turkey wrap– so good! I thought the woman taking the orders was nice– she even spelled my name right. I will say this place is just a tad pricey for lunch but the food is always good, you just gotta get in there before the lunch rush.

While we love the food here, we ordered at 10:30am in order to avoid the lunch rush. The woman who took our order was incredibly rude, but we brushed that off because we know they were busy. It has been 1 hour and 45 minutes and our food has still not been delivered when we are less than 2 miles from their location. We called to check on our order status, got the same rude lady, who had to dig around to find if our order had even left yet. She said that«we got other orders before you so it’s going to take some time». That made us feel like our business didn’t matter to them and we were just on the back burner. If it takes more than 30mins to deliver 2 soups and 2 wraps they need to hire more delivery people and a much nicer person to pick up the phone.

I won’t lie the food at NYD is really fresh, and good, however I have to say they are insanly priced… when you pay $ 6 for a salad and ask to have chicken added and it costs another $ 6 or when you call and ask if they deliever and they say they do, but don’t explain the delivery charge to go from their parking lot less then 2 miles up the road to our office is another $ 6 so 2 sandwhiches and 2 cookies came to $ 30 I have to say this is not a wallet friendly business aimed at serving families or people on a tight budget, based on this experience and my feelings of not having full disclosure on pricing I would not return.

Great selection of food. The staff is very friendly. I have become a regular here at least once a week. I am greeted by name. Some might say the price is a little high but it’s comparable to any place just like this and the staff and food make it worth it.

I was here last week for a corned beef rachel + mustard on a bulkie roll and a pilgrim. The rachel was fine but not at the same level of what you get at a jewish deli where they pile it on for the same price. They also got my order wrong and put no coleslaw or mustard so I had to go back and have them fix it. It was a simple order. The filling of the pilgrim was spot on. thick roasted turkey, good stuffing, cranberry sauce. But the bread was thick and just too dense. not soft and not good. A normal sub roll would be sufficient. Definitely get it on different bread or a wrap.

Where do I begin… At a loss for words really. I experienced today, what I have never experienced, at any other food specialty shop, EVER. I called NY Deli in Westboro MA to order a delivery for the FIRST and unfortunately the LAST time. I ordered a LARGEBLT for $ 5.95 I asked for extra bacon which they charged me $ 1.95 for which to be honest is ok by me. I also ordered a sprite which became a 7up(also ok by me) and a bag of salt & vinegar chips. Both at $ 1.95 a piece. The man on the phone took my card # and said he’d be over in 10 minutes. My company is not more than a mile away from NY Deli. In fact we are EXACTLY0.6 miles away and google maps estimates it to be less than 1 minute away. The delivery man showed up within the alotted time. He gave me my food and receipt and started to walk away. From my experience I was expecting to sign a receipt and include a tip on it for him. The delivery driver insisted I did not need to and proceeded to leave anyway. I found that odd and made my way back to my office to inspect the receipt because I was never told how much my order came out to. I was flabbergasted(never needed to use this word before) when I saw my bill was $ 19! Yes… $ 19. When I was on the phone placing the order the guy asked«White or wheat» I’m thinking he’s talking about a sub roll… But NO. It was actually sliced bread. I admit that I made an assumption but a little more clarity would’ve saved me the frustration when I saw that I had to pay $ 19 for a sliced bread BLT. It doesnt hurt to ask does it? My question is why when the guy taking my order heard me say LARGEEEEE he didn’t think to tell me it was sliced bread? Do they make large and small sliced bread? Sooooo lets just say that was my fault for the sake of advocacy. So be it. Their service still merits the bad review because they never quoted me $ 6 delivery charge… $ 6??? for Delivery? I thought dominos was bad… But you guys take the cake. We are .6 miles away and yet you charge me $ 6 delivery for a $ 5.95 sandwich. Whoever came up with that policy must be a top notch restauranteur. I saw this on the receipt under MISC. So I called them back to ask what the $ 6 miscellaneous charge was for and the lady said«oh thats a delivery charge. i’ve taken delivery orders from you guys before» basically meaning: «Oh you don’t know? Get with the program» Listen lady… what does it matter if you have taken orders from us before? Are you saying we should get used to getting robbed? It would have been completely different if I hadn’t been surprised with that charge. If you’re going to charge that much at least give your customer a disclaimer… «Oh by the way we charge $ 6 for delivery» SIMPLE… I would have said ok nevermind I’ll just pick it up. This has nothing to do with the $. I have plenty. But you weren’t clear about the subroll being sliced bread. You didn’t disclose your delivery charge. and on top of that you made it seem like I should have known… Now my coworkers won’t let me live it down. Everything I do now«oh you want a water. that’ll be 6 bucks» «oh you’re leaving. that’ll be $ 6 bucks.» Seriously guys? Now. for the food. The bread was a disappointment because I basically had a sliced bread sandwich for $ 20. the bacon was frozen. The reason I know is because it was thoroughly cooked but still soft and soggy. If you grill frozen bacon the moisture trapped inside it will make it soggy. you mustve had that bacon sitting in your freezer for a month. the lettuce and tomato was fine. the tomato was fresh and the lettuce was shredded. the pickle you sent me was soggy too because it came wrapped in a paper towel which drained the juice out of it. the one positive thing I have to say is they got it here on time and catered to my request of putting the mayo on the side(and including a knife with it which tells me you guys do have common sense) now this is a big complaint over a simple thing. Was it worth it for me? absolutely not. I was dissatisfied with the sandwich and extremely disappointed with the misleading service. Im not saying dont eat here. Im just saying check EVERYTHING before you pay. As for the owners. GETCHEFROBANDRESTAURANTIMPOSSIBLEINTHERE. YOUNEEDIT. I’d be willing to bet there’s a lot of microwaving going on there. not to mention poor sanitation. All these little problems you guys have could easily be resolved by making sure your employees are HAPPY. make sure your environment is CLEAN and sanitary. etc. Use fresh deli meats and such. No freezing…

I gotta say, I was a little disappointed, because I had high expectations based on the reviews. The staff was nice, and it seemed to be a pretty popular lunch place but the food did not stand as anything special. I came here on a whim, since Chipotle had a loooooong line today — unfortunately. So I thought I’ll give this place a try since I’ve read the good reviews before. I came in and ordered a Steak & Cheese sub. It took about 5−7mins while they made it(it was somewhat busy at the time). It was pretty bland. The meat did not stand out the cheese was hardly noticed, it wasn’t a bad sub, but it wasn’t anything that delicious — I’ve had better. Again, I think it’s not the worst option around but I hoped for something better and was disappointed because of it. It’s not a little gem you hope to discover in such a deli, but just ordinary and nothing special.

Came here today after a few times and I gotta say, I’m a fan. I had put in an online order for my lunch break. When I arrived to get it, they had never received it due to a problem with the online service. Being very apologetic, I couldn’t be too upset when they pushed my order to the front of the line, even during a very busy lunch hour. I was very appreciative of that, and hungry to boot! Extra brownie points for great service. Others have noted that the service here is nice. It is beyond firendly !! The food is consistantly good and VERY fresh. Like blow Panera Bread outta the water fresh. Really good Thanksgiving sandwich if that the style of sandwhich that floats your boat. They also have more ingredients than you’d expect from a little hole in the wall deli, so I was nicely suprised to find horseradish cheddar cheese as an option. They also have some pretty interesting savory deli salads, like lemon pepper chicken salad, tomato&feta cucumber salad etc. that are all hommade. By no means is this ultra gourmet bistro style lunch, but its much better than all the fast food in the area that most people just shove down the gullet to go back to work . NY Deli also has a refridgerated case of a bunch of heat up meals for those who want hot lunch. I have not yet sampled it, but Im sure they are great given the quality of the food here. Also I’m addicted to the Route 66 dill pickle chips here!!! You will find all sorts of crazy wild chips and drinks. Enjoy them. Go N Love it up.
