Good indian food, nothing too impressive. But the food variety can definitely improve

Weekend Lunch Buffet Review for Khatta Mitha Only. $ 13.95 for their sunday lunch buffet. — From a price point of view. This is a great deal! Most of their regular menu items are around the $ 14 range, so for $ 13.95 you get a try quite a few different items they have to offer. — No appetizers or finger good. They offer something they refer to as chicken nuggets, but please do not try these, I don’t think there was any chicken in the nuggets. — Limited Non-Vegetarian selection. They only had one goat curry, a chinese chicken and mushroom entrée, a chicken curry, and grilled chicken legs. They should add at least a couple more non-vegeterian entrees. — Good selection of Vegetarian entrees. From authentic indian mixed vegetable curries to indo-chinese style noodles. They items were all fresh and very delicious. — Disappointed that they did not included BIryani in this buffet. They only offered plain jeera rice and nothing else. — The food was fresh. They were constantly adding more food in to the trays. They bread/naan was fresh. They did not run out of any items while we were there. — We got in early, around 1pm, and the place was slowly beginning to fill up. — Dessert selection was limited but very good. The gulab jamuns and rice pudding, both, were very delicious and tasted fresh. Will definitely go back again.

Went for lunch with the wife. She had a red Thai curry that obviously used the canned chilli paste(actually, really good stuff for the home cook short on time)…it was okay. I had the lunch buffet. I have had a number of the Indian buffets around here and have to say that this is the best quality one… a goat curry, a couple of paneer dishes with good chunks of paneer, a nice dal, several others including a couple of Chinese dishes. The naan was mediocre, barely more than a fat chapati, and the pakora was steamed instead of crisp. Nonetheless, the flavors are good. This is possibly the most expensive of the Indian places. Note: Unilocal is only giving me two choices for the rating, eek methinks not and meh, i’ve experienced better. My review is 3.5 stars. I don’t know what is going on but it is not fair to the restaurants for Unilocal to limit a rating to either bad or mediocre.

After being a loyal customer for over a year the last time I went in for the lunch buffet I was seated and even though it was 45 min until the end time of the buffet I found all food items very low or empty. I took what I could and sat to eat. Then I noticed the employees of the place lining up and filling their plates with all the remaining food ans then sitting in the restaurant customer area and eating their lunches. When i went back t the line there was nothing left to eat other than a few very undesirable items. The acting manager tried to direct me to eat one of the few remaining items, a GOAT based dish and I declined, No appologies, no offer to fill a desired dish. (1) When you say a buffet is open through 3pm you should not allow employees to clean out all the food @ 2:30 and (2) when a paying customer has been seated to eat this buffet since 2:15p and go to the now empty serving line you should be ashamed to have nothing there to eat as all your workers have taken all the main dishes for their free lunches. - It will be a LONG time, if ever, before I return. I will go to one of the other establishments for my lunches for the time being until you can straighten your priorities out.

The kind of place you want to tell everyone about! I love everything I’ve tried at Ming III — lotus stems, manchurian cauliflower, chili paneer, vegetable manchurian. Only wish it was closer to my home — yet it’s worth the drive every time!

I love love love the lotus stems at Ming III. They are absolutely amazing. All the vegetation options at Ming are. Cauliflower manchurian, chili paneer, vegetable manchurian. This place is great. I ordered a chicken dish once but didn’t particularly like it. The chicken wasn’t super high quality. My simple solution has been to not order the chicken! You should seriously check this place out. It’s affordable, has a classy atmosphere, and the food is great.

Went in this past Sunday night w/the kids. Had a waiter who was texting over by the server station as opposed to waiting on us. We were the only table in the restaurant. I had to get up & ask for water refills& knives for the kids. Also he gave me attitude when I had my credit card out & wanted to pay! And now they’re adding 18% gratuity to parties of 4 or more! Unacceptable. I’m a generous tipper and usually give 20% but this waiter wasn’t worth even 1%. Don’t think we’ll be going back. It’s a shame as this place has good quality & you can’t find Singapore noodles in Metrowest but the service was awful. Raj, get rid of this waiter!

Wow, I see the reviews are quite mixed on this place. But I got the lunch buffet, and it was excellent! I really like Indian Food, but eat it very infrequently. The flavors of the food were excellent, and the variety and options on the buffet were plentiful. I would definitely go back here! — One thing. On their website, it says the buffet is 9.95. It’s not, I got charged 10.95.

Wow, what a find. I was up the road at my fav beauty spot, Shalini’s when she recommend Khatta Mitha for Indian take out. I went online and saw the menu and called ahead for a few dishes for Mom and I to share. The food was amazing. I loved the vegetarian samosas, the Baingan Bhartha, Ghobit Parantha and the peas pulao. I don’t eat meat but mom loved the Tandoori chicken. The dessert case of Indian delicacies was staggering. I am off sugar so had to decline the owner’s kind offer to sample a few. While waiting for our take out order, I was entertained by an Indian version of MTV. very hip spot and delicious food. Cannot wait to go back.

We go here more than I would like(its the only decent indian food in the area) but its too pricey for the portions they give. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good but the price is too high. I guess we will still end up going there again.

If you don’t know where the entrance to the parking lot is, you just might drive past. It’s in the same parking lot as Not Just Your Average Joes. My husband and I went back to MIng III today… the first time was good enough to bring us in for seconds! The décor is simple but classy. Just a few Moroccan-esque lamps over the bar, a few decorative pieces scattered around, and a warm color on the wall. We’ve never been seated in a booth as it’s only been the two of us and the booths are quite large… probably can handle a party of 6 comfortably. The wait staff still seem a bit lost and flighty, but we’ve never waited too long for anything… we’ve had better, we’ve had worse. Soda arrived cold and the food arrived hot… we’re not too picky! We’ve had 2 appetizers. Chili Chicken and Drums of Heaven. Both were fabulous! The chili chicken is our favorite of the two. Just the right about garlic and pepper! Our first bite was like a taste bud awakening… we’re so used to Indian food that this a lovely change. Yes I know. it’s an Indo-Chinese place, but it wasn’t curry so it was a change for us! The Drums of Heaven were also delicious. Slightly crispy and the sauteed onions/bits of goodness get left behind are good enough to fight over! For meals we’ve had Chili Chicken(just as good as the app, but a little more wet… good idea since you get rice to sop it up with!), Manchurian chicken(minced chicken dumplings in a brown gravy), and Chili lamb. We’ve loved them all! I only have two complaints thus far: Their soda: I am not a fan of canned soda. I am a huge Diet Coke fan and I looooove me some fountain soda! A) It tastes totally different b) you usually get free refills c) I have a specific pouring method when I put my warm canned soda on ice… if not, all the carbonation is lost. I’ve noticed quite a lot of Indian places around here also doing this. Such a bummer! Hours of operation: Being married to an Indian man who gets cravings at all hours, it was a total let down to show up at 3pm one day and have it be closed? It appears to have changed it’s hours of operation to some kind of split shift… early afternoon and then late evening. Not sure why they do this but hey, apparently it hasn’t kept us from stopping by!

Decent indian buffet at lunch, food is fresh and the selection is varied daily. The attached chinese restaurant has a great spicy chili garlic noodle dish that is awesome and addicting. The waitresses in the chinese restaurant are clueless, clealry kids who haven’t done this before or eat this type of food. I hope these 2 restaurants make it, but they are never crowded.

Walked into Khatta Meeta and it was déjà vu with rich reminiscence of classic Mithai(sweets) shop in India. Admit it; when was the last time you had fresh made sweet delicacies prepared by a Halwai(Sweets and pastries chef in India) displayed in the most contemporary way and with so much variety to pick for ! I happened to pick a mix samples of Indian sweets in a 1 lb box and believe each one of it was rich in taste and authentic. Kudos for not only having a first attempt in this area but also offering a variety fresh delicious Indian sweet delicacies and doing it right; a must try for everyone who knows the taste of Indian sweets or folks who want to explore what Indian cuisine has to offer on the sweet side(apart from famous curies we all know about). A two thumbs up. Now moving on to the offerings for the dinner options at Khatha Meetha which offers a classic Mughlai Cuisine(north Indian cuisine); ordered Dal Makhani and Spinach Kofta curry and they both were surprisingly fresh and different. The koftas tasted fresh. Serving was prompt and staff was quite attentive. Surprisingly; entrees comes with an option of either Rice or Naan(unlike other places where its only Rice as an option). The pricing was very appropriate($ 10 each) especially for the serving size which was quite enough for two person. For the quality and freshness of food; it was worth it. Will surely visit back to experiment with other dishes and offering. On Ming III; the restaurant has a very warm and welcoming feel with cherry wood and rich interiors. The lighting and seating areas are very thoughtful. Hakka Noodles were awesome and they will remind you of the authentic Noodles served in any high end Indo-Chinese restaurant in Delhi. It is splendid. Veg. Manchurian and Chilli Paneer were good. The portion size is pretty good and Jasmine rice is complimentary with entrees.(Apparently the owner is very attentive for feedbacks and have made these changes in the last one month as I see some prior reviews complained about it). On the cons: somehow I was confused about the taste of gravy both the dishes had to offer(at Ming as well as Khatha Meetha). The base taste of gravy was very similar to my taste buds and needs improvement so as the each dish stands out for itself. No liquor service; despite a very decent bar setup at Ming’s. A star less hoping improvements are made that each dish stands for itself in taste rather than tasting somewhat similar. With so much to offer under one roof; it surely takes more than one trip for anyone to experience the offerings. My review was across three different visits to this place in a space of 3 weeks.

Stopped by for dinner after a movie. Looks like they take the reviews very seriously. In my review earlier, I mentioned that the food portions were too small for an Entrée. Well, guess what, they have increased the portions significantly and also started serving Jasmine rice with every entrée. Ain’t that nice. Make sure you try their new line of Deserts. We tried the Tiramisu(good for 2) and it was yum.

Two restaurants in one, separate entrances. 1. Khatta Meetha is American style Indian with a lunch buffet and baked goods.(2.95 stars) 2. Ming III is Indian Chinese cuisine and the one I prefer more.(3.1 stars) Honestly the food at both places is not amazing, more like acceptable to almost inspired. The staff at both places are quite friendly and attentive. Both the rooms have appeal but again I find the Ming III side more inviting and comfortable. Prices seem high for this area and the quality, not sure what rent is like but I just don’t think a lunch buffet should be $ 10 unless it’s great. At Ming III they charge $ 6 for Jasmine rice? And yet, with such limited choices for urban-ethnic dinning in this neck of the woods, I find enough value in both. If they get liquor licenses even just beer and wine, that may bump them a half star. * M3 — Manchurian Chicken, lollipops, noodle dishes. * KM — Vegetarian dishes, Naan, at the buffet, ask for the heat on curries etc or it is bland. Salty Lassi, Chai Masala, both decent.

Being a PIO foodie from Metrowest, tried Ming III the first week it opened and was disappointed with the food. We were a large group and ordered pretty much everything they had on their appetizer and entrée menu. Out of the appetizers the only thing which stood out was the Fried Shrimp with Garlic. The indo-Chinese signature dish«Drums of Heaven» a.k.a Chicken Lollipop was average with the chicken not cooked all the way, sauce was decent. The Gobi Manchurian was one in the series of secret«orange» sauce dishes that were dished out with a little too much sweetness and healthy helping of Maggie Ketchup! The crispy lamb was — only crisp — no lamb! The Sweet-Corn Soup and Hot & Sour were pretty good with some help from the vinegar-chilly! Of the entrees, the shredded Lamb with Ginger and Scallions was the only one that was above average, though still on the sweet side. The Chicken & Fish dishes were again laced with the secret«orange» sauce or the«brown» sauce, both low on the taste meter. Basically it’s a restaurant stuck in limbo between what taste it should stay true to — Chinese or Indian or Indo-Chinese and think it fails all three. There are way better places for Chinese food and Indo-Chinese food in the area. Next Stop Chinese Mirch in Framingham! BTW — The other issue was with poor Service and Hospitality. That evening in the couple of hours we were there, alteast two parties had loud and heated squabbles with a very unprofessional manager… We were just lucky to have gotten our reservation and food in time!

Alright so as everyone said, this is a new place! This review is for Khatta meetha. I went there with my parents and we had quite a few feedback points. The staff were very friendly and very receptive to feedback which definitely makes me want to back in a while to see how they’ve improved. And on that note: We went for the sunday buffet and found there were three meat dishes and three vegetable dishes. Food overall was mediocre, nothing that left me wanting more or feeling very full after leaving. We had the butter naan with vegetable makhani, aloo mutter, cabbage and peas subzi. We felt the restaurant was really skimping on using the pricier ingredients needed for quality Indian food. Being indian we can tell whats missing ;-) Now that’s fair if you’re pricing it accordingly but with the price they charged($ 12 for a buffet!!), I could get a much tastier meal in Boston at any of the One World Cuisine restaurants(Except Mumbai Chopstix…) known to be the priciest and tastier of Indian restaurants in the area. An interesting observation, there was no paneer dish, something I look forward to and what is a very cliché element of any indian buffet. What was even more strange is that they had Saag Chicken and Vegetable Makhani — both dishes that are often served with Paneer in a buffet. Also — I didnt see a single onion in anything we ate. Oh well part of their cost saving tactics? Ambiance was pleasant and clean, waiter was definitely a little inexperienced but hey that’s not a big deal overall for most of us and I’m sure he’s new to it too. I’ll be going back soon but I will be hoping for them to price things a bit more realistically and stop skimping on ingredients needed to make it taste great! True the boroughs have a ton of Indians but we’re pretty smart, make good food and don’t over charge or you’ll be out as fast as the past two restaurants there!

This restaurant opened today and I decided to try it out for the INDO-CHINESE cuisine. Ordered a take-out. Confusion reigned supreme on Day 1 of the restaurant and service was mediocre. However, the food was great. Will definitely visit the place again and hopefully the service would be much better. Dishes are priced in the $ 14 – 15 range.
