I took my family of 4 here for Veterans Day and they gave us great service. It was very busy and I think that’s because the food is good and they were giving free food to all veterans. This is a stand-up organization and we love them for the veterans day service they provide. Everyone working there on this day is giving it all to those of us who also give it all in a days work! Which is why we gave them 5 stars. My wife and I don’t eat salads very often but we loved their salad bar.

Ordered the crab cakes with Mac and cheese. Let me make this simple, I left. The mac and cheese was like kraft boxed mac and cheese. The crab cakes(signature item) was freezer burnt and was served lukewarm at best.

Fathers Day — 2015. Made a reservation about a week prior. Good thing we did, as there were plenty of folks waiting on tables when we arrived. We were greeted and seated promptly. And there ends our good experience with this meal. You are pigeon-holed into a holiday menu, and this is a departure from what CBs used to do; formerly, you had the choice between the holiday specials and the everyday menu. Nope. 10 three-course entrees were offered. Take ‘em or leave ‘em. The courses: salad bar was a course, as was one of your 10 entrée choices. First course was a choice of soup, chicken fingers and something called Avocado Bruscetta. I pictured a coarsely-mixed guacamole topped with diced tomatoes and served with crusty bread slices. You know what Avocado Bruscetta is? An avocado half minus the pit topped with a little diced tomato and swimming(and I do mean SWIMMING) in a plate of olive oil. No crusty bread. Can you say YUCK? You want bread? You have to muscle you way to it at the overcrowded salad bar. At 6:15, they were totally out of Prime Rib. That scratched two entrée picks from their list. Yes, 2 of the 10 entrees were the same thing. We heard servers telling other customers about running out of other entrees as we waited for ours to arrive. Our server was friendly but thoroughly absentee. She took our order and sloppily brought our drinks to the table, and it was apparent to her that she was spilling liquid all over the tabletop. She never came back with an apology or napkins to wipe up the spills. She did not bring our entrees, runners did. One of which was wrong but she never knew because she never came back. And she never came back to check on beverages(not even water was refilled). She came back at the end of our dinners to offer coffee and to bring the check. Frankly, I thought she had left because we really never saw her again. It was insanely hot inside the restaurant, like the a/c had broken or they were just being cheap with it. Either way, It was very unpleasant. And no soft music as is usually playing. It was very sterile-sounding, like when you visit a hospital. Happy Fathers Day indeed! As we left the restaurant, the hostess was trying to give diners coupons to come back again. OHPUHLEASE. After that, we’ll never be back. Scale of 1 to 5(1 being Poor, 5 being Excellent): Service = 1 Cleanliness = 2(food all over the floor by the salad bar, and that drink spill.) Salad Bar Being Stocked = 2(lots of empty bins). Atmosphere = 1 Value for Price Paid = 1 Quality of Food = 2

Was average/below average for price. Service was good. Salad bar was good. Lobster tail was good. Prime rib wasn’t that good. More than one side for a $ 30 plate and maybe some warm bread service could’ve made the experience better.

Had a great dinner for 10 for my mother’s 80th birthday! Thanks to great service and great food! Mom had a wonderful time, thank you Tonisha for being so nice as our waitress!

Worse meal experience ever. Bartender was ignorant, All she had was 4 people including us at the bar and she dint inform us of specials or anything, We ordered 2 glasses of wine and after she served us she told us that bottles were half price that night. I ordered salmon at $ 19.99 big mistake. A tiny 4 ounce piece of frozen salmon all dried out seems that they microwaved it to defrost it then overcooked it. The salad bar is ok I guess they want you to eat a bunch of salad then they give you tiny portions of main courses.

Overpriced for quality and quantity. Steak was not a good cut of meat especially for the price. Service is barely adequate.

I’m sad to say this is so far from home for me! This place was fantastic! Friendly service, a nice, clean, and FRESH salad bar, amazing Firecracker Shrimp, a perfect steak for dinner, and amazing no sugar/gluten free marble cheesecake for dessert. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

Quite an enjoyable Veterans Day experience. Firstly, I’d like to expend a sincere appreciation to Charlie Browns for honoring local veterans through such an awesome discount($ 20) during Veterans Day. This discount was certainly appreciated by many. My family and I made sure to place a reservation for what would be packed house. Thankfully we did. There were about 20 – 30 plus people waiting for a table at 6:30, which was certainly expected. Although we placed a reservation, we still waited for about 30 minutes, which wasn’t a bad deal for a discounted meal. Once we were seated we were attended to rather quickly for such a packed house. The inside décor is antiquated but familiar, although not very comfortable. It was dim but not elegant, more home style than upscale. Our server was very attentive and personable. She went out of her way to make sure awesome service was provided to multiple tables. The beer selection was ok. Although they were out of Sam Adams, they did have Batch 19 and a few other craft brews. However, one Batch 19 and Vodka /Club was $ 5.50 each. The salad bar was packed but filled plenty. There wasn’t anything that was missing and that was my favorite part of the meal. I ordered the full rack of ribs. Slightly over-cooked and a little dry but overall very tasty. I would definitely order them again. However, the salad bar was my favorite part about my experience. This NJ steakhouse chain is exactly what you’d expect. Very middle of the road, both in taste and experience; not elegant or upscale, but slightly above most of the national steakhouse chain fare.

I am a huge fan of Charlie Brown Steakhouse. Their service is great. I recently had my baby shower at this restaurant on their enclosed porch and it was beautiful. I had a great time. The servers were patient and professional. They assisted with anything I needed. The food selection was fantastic. Whenever I go to this restaurant I go for the salad bar which is always fresh and full. Thanks again for your service!

I’ve never really ordered meatloaf at a restaurant before, but the early bird special meatloaf meal was really good! My wife orders the sirloin steak. It was cooked just as she asked, the texture was good, but it lacked seasoning so she relied heavily on the A1. LOL! All in all, the service, waitress, food, and atmosphere was awesome. Their salad bar is excellent as well. If your a fan of frizzled onions, then you will have a great appreciation for their signature. They complimented my meal extremely well.

The free app for checking in was okay. Sangria tasted like grape juice. Salad bar decent. Dinner was gross. Hubs had mediocre crab cake and greasy coconut shrimp. I dared the osso bucco. Super fatty, hardly any potatoes or gravy. We won’t be back.

Took my mother there last night for an early Mother’s Day dinner… what a disgrace! The lady working the wait list was so rude and overwhelmed. She greeted us with«are you sure you want to wait its 45 mins– you could go to Applebee’s or Fridays instead» I swear that is what she said! We waited almost an hour even though I walked around and counted so many open tables the entire time –sometimes as many as 6 – 10 open tables and we are waiting an hour? Finally got seated and waited 10 minutes for a server. She wasn’t particularly good either and took another 10 minutes just to get sodas. Food took almost 45 minutes, The manager did come over and say that they were not expecting to be busy??? Are you kidding me? Its a Saturday night and it is Mother’s Day weekend. Food came out with old, cold fries. To his credit the manager offered free dessert which the sever was nice enough to tell us weren’t as good or as big as they used to be. She even said they weren’t as good as you would get at a dinner! Who says that??? $ 100 bucks that I wasted. Here is a hint to the managers– Saturday nights are usually busy… Mother’s Day weekend is usually Busy! Staff for it so you don’t have to go on a false wait and offer mediocre food and lackluster service! SAD!

Best prime rib that we have ever had! The salad bar is good as well. The atmosphere is outdated and dark, but overall the service is good and the prices are spot on for the quality of food you get. A great neighborhood restaurant.

The salad bar is the best part of Charlie Brown’s. It has a lot of variety, and everything seemed fresh. Lot of problems with the entrees. My ribeye was overcooked(ordered it medium, it came well done). Quality of beef was just ok considering pricing($ 23). Also tried the pick-two sampler with salmon and shrimp scampi, and the portion size was very small. The Shrimp dish looked gross, had been sitting in butter mixture long enough to form a hard film on top. Service was pretty good.

My fiancé and I love this place. They have the BEST salad bar. Salad bar items are always fresh and plentiful. I am a vegetarian and it’s like heaven! You can’t beat their unlimited salad bar for under $ 10! We also enjoy the nachos. The full size order is enough for 6 people so we usually just get the half order. We usually don’t get much else besides the salad bar and an appetizer. My boyfriend occasionally gets the meatloaf or burger and always enjoys. There are always $ 10 off $ 30 coupons in the newspaper so our typical bill is usually $ 20 – 30 with the coupon. Not bad for a dinner out! Their drinks are also good. They are creative and tasty. At times things can be a bit slow and the décor is a bit dark and heavy feeling. I wish they’d redecorate. The fireplace is great, though!

I’ve know this place since growing up in the neighborhood so I was surprised that it was still up and running going back some twenty years later. Now i can understand how it stays open. I had a great dinner solo … I ordered the french onion soup because it was snowing outside! I also ordered the salmon(served in some asian preparation) … I don’t remember the name right now tho… Since i checked in on Unilocal I got a free popcorn firecracker shrimp appetizer & let me tell you those were yummy little treats!

I’ve been put ting off writing my review for this place because I was hoping to go back and be able to review it for real. As it stands now, I went for the Veterans Day freebie mean, and had a «meh» time. ALL I wanted that day was some prime rib, that happened to, OFCOURSE, be gone by the time I was finally able to get a seat.(2 hour wait.) I don’t even remember what I would up eating, as it was late and I was over it after my prime rib disappointment, I just remember it took FOREVER to get everything. I will absolutely go back here and update with a proper review soon.

As others have said. This place is hit or miss. The food was good, the service was not so good. They brought my steak out with no steak knife. He said he would be right back and never came back. After our main server came back a bit later, she took care of the problem. Salad bar has always been fresh and good every time we have been here. This place could really be something if they took care of the service problem. The food quality is consistent but the service quality or lack there of, is a real bummer. There is not much more to say about this place. Is worth eating at in a pinch if you can tolerate the poor service.
