Come on, this place is in a freaking old school bus in Montana! This is so good, we’ve eaten here twice so far during our stay. They pay attention to detail and give you little freebie garnishments other Mexican restaurants don’t — pickled carrots, grilled pepper, and a little plastic cup of fire roasted hot sauce. They only possible negative is the menu is so large(40 items) it’s hard to make up your mind. The menu words are Spanish and the menu shows a picture of the finished plate. So you best brush up on your Spanish or you’ll find an egg in your enchiladas. It was good though! We may very well go back tomorrow. DON’T CHANGE A THING!!!

Awesome food, fresh and great quality. Camarones al ajo are delicious. If you’re looking for a great place to have lunch or dinner this is a great option. Prices are reasonable too. The staff is very friendly

Not just a Taco truck!!! You order inside and can sit inside to eat(A/C) Appears to be an old bus…-very cute and fun… Beef fajitas-enough food for 2 people… Excellent-would go back for sure… We are in the middle of «NOWHERE» MT. and on the edge of a National Park-you cannot expect perfection… This was great for the location… Sodas and water for purchase only… Unique Experience-GO!!!

A great option for dinner. The service was friendly. Tacos and quesedillas for the kids were great. We had a chicken dish. It was flavorful. A bit spicy for us – I’d probably ask for something a bit less spicy next time. That is the only reason I took off a star. The bus itself is clean and cheery. They have a nice outdoor seating area, and the bus is climate controlled. We took our food to-go, which worked great. Prices are high for takeout mexican in Montana generally, but when you put it in the high tourist season just oustide Yellowstone park, I think the prices are actually pretty reasonable.

Great food. Good chicken fajitas and flavor. Only comes with one tortilla though although it’s large. I love Mexican food and this place surpassed my expectations!

This is in a renovated school bus! Awesome food! There was a constant stream of locals here! Even my picky children loved it! Cooks were Hispanic so you know it’s going to be great authentic Mexican food!

TACOBUSFORLIFE! This is easily the tastiest and most reasonably priced food in West Yellowstone out of the 4 restaurants I tried. It’s a simple setup, but the service is fast and the food authentic. I ordered the Burrito Verde, which was so delicious I’m not sure I took the time to breath in the 5 minutes it took me to consume it.

Deeeelish! Group had a chimichanga, 4-tacos plate(picadillos– like roast beef), beans, enchiladas verdes(green). All were beyond yummy. Fast. Perfect. Served out of a bus — sat at picnic tables in the late afternoon. Couldn’t have asked for better!

The best mexican food in West Yellowstone that you can find. There are not much food options in West Yellowstone and we decided to go there as the reviews were very good. We stayed for four nights in West yellowstone and we went there all the time during our stay. I would highly recommend you to go here if you like some spice in your food.

This is the best bargain for your money in town. And you get mucho tasty food to boot. I only wish they would give you packets of cholula for your to go orders. This is the way food trucks ought to be!

The best restaurant in West Yellowstone is a converted school bus. That is what the locals kept telling us and sure enough it is awesome. We are a family of vegetarians and every one of us thought it was some of the best Mexican we ever had. It’s a bus with wooden boards to sit on, so atmosphere is nil. And prices seem a little high but the food more than makes up for that. Check out the bus on Main Street.

Advertised in Unilocal as open– but they’re closed. When you’re trying to feed a family of 5 after hiking all day and everyone is starving– imagine my surprise when I go there and all the lights were off. Thank you very much for accuracy.

We ate at this place while visiting Yellowstone. I don’t know what all the 4&5 star ratings are all about! I was really anticipating some kick ass food judging by the reviews, but was disappointed. The prices are high and the helpings are small. I’ve had much better Mexican. I won’t be back.

Solid choice for Mexican food in West Yellowstone MT. If this Taco Bus was in California, it would only rate 3 stars. However, due to its location in a very remote area with no real competition, they get a «4.» We were a little disappointed they don’t have«Lengua»(beef tongue) but its mainly because of the area(all gringos, no hispanics).

I love the authentic food — tacos, yes, but also pollo con crema, enchiladas, real refritos, classics. Not the cheesy, oily standard fare but real, flavorful Mexican cuisine. Simple, on paper plates, and the best deal in town.

Vegetarians can find ample options in a Mexican restaurant and they do deliver on that ground. Try the enchiladas with three sauces– cheesy, creamy but delicious. Not ideal for healthy eaters but with limited options for vegetarians you’ve got to quench rumbling tummy. Cute set up in a bus and few seating spaces available outside effective in a hot day. I wouldn’t call it the best Mexican but it’s not bad for the value and variety. Although all the sauces and fillings turns out pretty similar at the end at least for veggie eaters:(

Awesome food truck in West Yellowstone… The kids loved ordering food inside a bus. Small table area outside, food is served on paper plates but is sooooo good. Everything we tried was excellent. You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. Very casual … Note this is not a sit down restaurant but a food truck. Awesome food… Give it a try.

When I lived in Yellowstone National Park for work, I would come here on my nights and weekends with my friends. I would always order the three race plate, and get a root beer with it. Now that I’ve moved to Phoenix I miss it soooo much D’:

Great place, super simple environment and the best authentic Mexican food!!! It’s just on the main road I wear Yellowstone about 45 minutes from old faithful. You can eat inside the bus or outside seating is available. Excellent pricing compared to most restaurants in west. Usually pretty busy but they are always so fast with delicious food. I highly recommend coming wether you’re passing through or a local like me.

But they are forgetful sometimes and I’m not sure if it’s all that sanitary. But whatevs! There’s 45 things on the menu. You an figure it out. VIVATACOS!

Amazing little gem in town. We were lucky to be served within minutes as just after 10 minutes there was big queue of ppl waiting. Ambiance: Even though its food truck, it got nice décor, heck even sitting for 10+ ppl inside truck and 10+ outside. Look at the ceiling for different currencies from different countries. Service: Amazing. Server/Cashier/Owner was amazing to talk into. He was quick, & funny. Food: Delicious. We ordered variety of vegeterian dishes and all were really good. Try it’s spicy sauce, if you can.(when an Indian says its hot, you bet its really hot) Price: Pretty cheap for the quality of food being offered. If we ever come back to the town, this is sure stop for us.

We have been looking for great Mexican food for a while. We have had some that was OK but high priced. We drove into West Yellowstone to run some errands & on a whim, tried Las Palmitas or the Taco Bus as we called it. We were not disappointed. We ordered the 6 taco plate & tried the shredded beef & carnitas. My husband LOVES hot sauce, the hotter the better. Well he met his match requesting«as hot as you can make it». It was made with Habaneros & it was too hot for him. It is definitely not for the faint of heart! Everything was absolutely delicious, very authentic & we now have a favorite taco joint! The bus itself is a very cute, quaint idea — it was clean & the kitchen looked great too. We will definitely be back!

Went here while staying in West Yellowstone for dinner after a long day of hiking in the park. Just wanted something quick and easy that I could take back to the room and relax. Definitely a different experience getting on a bus to get food! The space, as you could imagine, is quite cramped with the kitchen in the back of the bus and two rows of bench seats lined up along each side of the inside of the bus, maybe room for 10 – 15 people to sit and eat inside. There are also a few picnic tables outside the bus for people to use if they choose. I had the«Mexican» burrito with steak. It’s «Mexican» because it comes with three different sauces layered across the top, salsa verde, cheese, and a hot red taco sauce. It also comes with a small side salad included. The food was all made to order so it took about 10 minutes for us to get our food once we put it in, and the inside of the bus was packed, so they were busy. Overall I really enjoyed the food, the steak had a good flavor, it was nice and hot, and all three sauces were delicious. Definitely a good place to stop if you want a little taste of Mexico after a long day in Yellowstone!

Taste: 4 Location: 4.5 Cleanliness: 3.5 Ambience: 4 Value: 3 Service: 4 * Out of a 5-point scale This is probably the best food I had in West Yellowstone. This eatery is situated in an old bus which has been converted into a dining room, which is kinda awesome. They have a wide range of Mexican food available and their Shrimp Fajitas made me want to go for another round!

We stopped here while walking around in west Yellowstone and glad we did!!! Authentic Mexican food in Montana? I can’t believe it amazing to boot. My husband had the carne asada tacos I had the cheese enchilada lunch and all of it was excellent! Price was decent for both of us to eat was $ 20 in a resort town that’s a deal. We will definitely be back and HIGHLY recommend this cute spot! Actually we ate here everyday we spent in West Yellowstone because the carne asada taco plate kept us coming back for more!!!

This place is just wonderful! As good as any Mexican food you can get in the U.S., and in a town with few great options. I was actually a little put off by the location: the idea of eating out of a bus seemed uncomfortable and hot, but it turned out to be kind of fun and I was able to eat on picnic tables outside. The menu is huge. In my experience it’s rare to find a place that does both solid tacos as well as quality Tex-Mex, but this place covers a wide range of styles adeptly. I had the Mexican enchiladas lunch, which included a sampling of verde, creamy, and hot sauces on shredded beef-filled enchiladas. The sauces were Ioaded with flavor and the meat was slow-cooked, tender, and delicious. Rice and beans were on point too, and I tried a pastor taco which was perfect. The guys working here were nice too.
